Technically, the cheshire cat was responsible for helping Alice get home. We see him here and in court causing events to help piss off the Queen of Hearts to the point where mayhem breaks loose, which woke Alice up.
It's ironic how that turned out. His own way of getting Alice home was to eventually get her to the Queen of Hearts, then piss off the Queen to cause chaos, thus waking Alice up. Plus, I think it was his way of trolling the Queen, since even the Queen seemed pretty wary of him.
