Yup, this is THE ONE. Because, if you want to work on your repertoire and learn actual songs besides "only" improvising, this key lighting system is pretty much unbeatable. Totally effortless and pleasurable learning if you ask me. Good thing the lights can be turned off when not necessary. The price is silly and kudos to Casio. It will make this fly off the shelves. Makes you want to buy one for every family member and one for dog, but I can't imagine it will be this low for Europe.

My grandma bought me one of these as a kid and i used it to learn classical songs. Ppl used to ask me how long ive been playing for and id just say not long i just got a cassiotone

Hi Jeremy, I was considering this because of the lighting up key feature. I would like to learn to play along with my daughters and thought the light up feature is a must. I'm now stuck between the cts1 and this one. The cts1 looks like a superior choice to me. Is the light up feature really going to make that much of a difference for beginners? I'm trying to define if the feature is a gimmick or if it's really worth it for beginners. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Just ordered the LK-S250 here in the U.S. for $110 USD. Given it seems to be out of stock at the moment at most places and lists for $159, I thought getting it for a little over a $100 was worth a shot based on the review here.
You can't, but you can connect your keyboard to a PC(or a tablet) so you can use learning apps like Synthesia, which takes advantage of the key lighting feature.
Any thoughts on this vs the yamaha EZ300? Mainly because the yamaha is bulkier, and doesn't quite fit into the particular room setup I have compared to this casio. Would you say the yamaha is much better? Thank you so much for these reviews btw!

Bashir Hashim , Differences I noted are: - Multiple buttons, keypad, to select sounds versus a scroll wheel, - 77 rhythms (S250) versus 100 rhythms (265) - 10 types of reverb on S250, none mentioned for the 265 Otherwise they seem pretty identical--well, except for the smaller size of the S250, of course.
I chatted with Mike Martin of Casio and told him if Stevie Wonder and Kodi Lee cannot play an instrument they should provide a separate control panel with a physical button for every feature. He became grumpy. I said it could be a separate option that you plug into USB or other input. I just went from synth to weighted keys never going back.
I just bought mine today it was great and all but The thing that bothered me was the microphone it was a static sound to it when ever u talk in it just a heads up for anyone who’s thinking about buying it

Jeremy, I just got this & it’s awesome! I’m just a lil clueless as to what usb cable to use for connecting to my iphone or android phone. I tried a regular micro usb charging cable connected to the lightning usb to camera cable connected to my phone but it won’t work for Simply Piano. I hv no issues though with my other Yamaha keyboard. Help?

Thanks for watching. Yes, battery live will be longer when you turn off key light. The MIDI is standard implementation and will work with GarageBand etc.

CTK3500 sound terrible, cheap design, cannot save registration... Long list....
