Awesome pilot flying in the white out. Every now and then I lost my bearings just watching that and it makes my heart stop for a second. One lapse of concentration and you lose orientation completely of where you are and where you are going
Beautiful view!! I am a Cnc machinist in Bc, pretty rare I see sunlight half the year! Id love to visit such a remote place like this, I do love the woods and smell of cedar Ive got a double bit axe behind me that my grandfather used some 50 years ago, but sadly the skill was never passed down to me. nice felling! and stay safe!
i was going to say bjarne clean the heli pad LOL . i see you called in the snoe Blower lol .great stuff love watch a logger work. something so therapeutic about good old hard honest work. love it
that is badass dude, i love your vids and i would be cussing my brains out at that chopper for blowing all that snow and cold on me😂😂. keep making these videos dude
What part of the island are working? Looks like you are in a man camp. Is this the west coast of the island near Henderson Lake? Awesome footage. You guys have more guts than Dick Tracey as they say.
Old military pack from I think Sweden? They used to be common at military surplus stores. And we’re very popular with the fallers here on the coast, now they’re slowly disappearing(wear and tear) as there’s no more left
Fair enough :) ...... hey you still haven't done a video on your toolbelt, and that awesome little gadget that holds your axe on your hip, Dieing to know what that is, and where I can get one.
Awesome video Bjarne, interesting how you bring in a back up power head. What maintenence is needed to the saw after a day, a week etc? What weight axe and length of handle do you use? Hell of a day to be flying. Cheers
General maintenance on a husky 390 is normally fuel filter, chain guards, starter cord and spring, air filter cleaning, throttle cable replacement, sometimes handle bar spring and muffler bolts, inside dog bolts. I use a 3.5lb axe with 28” handle.
@@@BjarneButler I worked at a place where choppers would come into a Pad. We were right next to a RCMP pad, so the chopper cleared with their tower and called us before they landed. I understood VFR, but chatting with the pilot, he related that he had spent an hour, that morning just flying instruments and he did this every time he was somewhere with a little fog. As he put it, you never want to have something happen, that you have not practised many times. I am East Coast, so the large wood and how you move it is something I have never seen. Thank you, Cheers
Lol I just figured it out, you welded either a bent nail or metal of some sort to your axe head, and it just fits over a hook on the belt... saw it on one of your videos knocking out your under cut... great idea... also are you running a skip chain on that 33
There are many days on the west coast, that are not exactly VFR, but the terrain is known intimately by the pilots, weather is always moving, so there are patches, opening etc.Flying with a screen is a big change from the old days, before GPS and mapping onboard.
That is freakin cool. Lucky guy to be in the woods all day then get to ride in a chopper. All while making super good money. Definitely one of my dream jobs.
As an aspiring sawyer your videos are both educational and inspiring. Thank you for making them.

Thank you for sharing! That’s very interesting 😊
Wow your a long way into the bush , is all the timber flown out ?
Yes it’s flown to the ocean where it’s then towed to a mill or loaded on a barge then towed to a sawmill
What an AWESOME commute.
Ya that was a good one
Damn, what a day, talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire, great footage.
Thanks
Best place on work, amazing office! What kind of back pack are you using looks waterproof

Nice video. When youre logging that deep in the forest, how do you get the timber out?
That was a heli logging job. With a water drop. Then towed to a mill or sort and de-watered processed then trucked to a mill
Glad the pilot can see. Landing pad for the chopper. Cheers
Ya. Gotta have a good, experienced pilot who is capable of handling a snowstorm , dense fog and competent long lining skills.

thats a hell of car pool... or heli pool?
That’s cool

Yup that’s how it works. And ya it’s a 33 skip. chain
Thanks
Great video!!! Did you grow up in the woods..or did you discover that sorta work at an older age?
My dad and uncles were Fallers so I sorta just fell into it
@@BjarneButler Comfortable, confident, no drama, it's in the genes.. great videos !
Well heck. I didn't get to see you kill some trees. Good short vid tho.
Very cool!!
Thanks for the watch!
How much money does that tree sell for
Never really got used to them machines. Too many rattles & rivets.🥺
My old man said never again in Alaska when they sucked up limbs in to rotor.. said he would walk to strip rather than that.
An experienced bush/logging pilot is a must in these situations
Living.
Not exactly VFR...

In a God damned American made helicopter,....
They use a Russian chopper for the heavy work.
That is freakin cool. Lucky guy to be in the woods all day then get to ride in a chopper. All while making super good money. Definitely one of my dream jobs.
Thanks. Ya Heli logging is lots of fun. It’s nice working all day with a view, fresh air, no customers or coworkers to deal with, just the trees
@@BjarneButlerthis is all things what we need 👌🆒
@@BjarneButler thanks for the video
