Great lesson, thanks. I'm continually amazed at Wes Montgomery's natural genius. Like the two other giants of jazz guitar, Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian, Wes had no formal musical training. How did these three incredible geniuses develop their amazing skills? Obviously from playing and jamming a lot with other great musicians, and not from music school, videos, RUclips, or instruction books because there was virtually nothing in those days. They all died relatively young, Charlie Christian was only 26. Yet all these years later, every great jazz guitarist in the world since their time has studied and learned from them. True genius is a very rare quality indeed.

Thanks for your comment! I am using a P-87 for vocals and then a AEA R92 for guitar. I had to play around with it to find the right sound for me. If you watch my newest lesson video, you’ll hear the difference on the guitar tone!

I'm using a Pre Sonus 1824 c ! Thanks Also in the new videos (not released yet) i've started using a Golden age COMP2A on guitar as well. You can hear that compressor on the logo intro's music.
