Another thing these handhelds really need asap, is some on die V-RAM, even a very modest small amount would make a night & day difference, Intel proofed this with their Iris Pro iGPU's, with just 128mb of native eDRAM, they doubled the FPS, if AMD added say just 1GB of fast HBM2 V-RAM to the APU, we should see minimum 50% FPS increase thanks to opening up the memory bandwidth, even a small eDRAM cache would do the trick, I know there is a handheld gaming PC win the works with a dedicated discreet GPU, which will have actual V-RAM of course, that factor alone will be a huge upgrade, not even counting the GPU specs improvement, I hope they use a 120hz 800p display with it, preferably AMOLED, I'd love to see a handheld with Nvidia's ULMB 2 on a 120hz+ AMOLED display, this would make it a power house for retro games, being able to play them how they were meant to be played with perfect CRT grade motion clarity and a scanline filter.

Would you still buy this over the 1S geek?
When I look at these devices, I try to think about it from the perspective of what's available from the competition. The Air 1S is great because there is no other device like it in it's size nor with OLED. The Geek is a good buy from a 32GB ram perspective.
@@ThePhawxAlso the geek has a way bigger screen. But damn, I love oled. Ayaneo is making this hard for me lol
@@unknown183yep wish we could have the best of both worlds
I’ve made a decision having giving some thought. I’m sold on the Geek 1S. It was a tough decision but I am able to get this and upgrade the 512GB ssd to a 4TB version still be under cutting the cost of an air 1S. Plus a bigger screen. Yeah I weighed in. That’s the one.
@@unknown183 yeah it's a hard choice the onexfly looks nice too, then the upcoming aokzoe a2 looks really clean might be my favorite yet, has the bezelless look similar to the ayaneo 2s
Hard pass. I had so many issues with my ayaneo air plus I ship it for warranty and I'm still waiting on an update. It's been over a month, people go for the steam deck or Asus rog these Chinese corps have horrible warranty
Sorry to hear about this experience. It will take a month at a minimum to get it serviced from them directly. Have they been keeping you updated via emails or anything?
@@ThePhawx I get emails only when I keep pushing them. Since last email I sent them it was a few days ago (4)and I've been left in the dark. I also got DHL returned 2 times in the whole process. It's very frustrating
It wouldn't hurt for them to opt for mini-led instead but with a slightly larger screen.
They should enable an 80% lock on the battery. Only 100% is terrible
Not really.
Wow, $1100😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Lite model isn't even that mush smaller. e-waste as the slightly larger model is better
If it wasn't for these huge bezels...
Yea, if this could be 6" OLED mannnn
I'm not a fan to play PC games with small fonts on this device. 7 inchs up would be better.
5.5 inch is a hard no for me.
Same. 6.5 is minimum for AAA games.
:D I feel this. I love looking at the OLED but I won't like that it's 7" minimum (that's what she said)
My ex wife said the same thing
I Phawx wit dat shirt
Not 120hz a hard pass
If only this was 120hz (or 144hz) AMOLED with BFI, it would be a really nice option, but 60hz has just far too low of a motion resolution, about 200 TVL at the most, so under 20% of the advertised resolution @ anything over 10 FPS, only static images will be the full advertised 1080p .
You're crazy. 60fps is absolutely perfect. Anything more will destroy the battery and is absolutely unnecessary in portable gaming, and often times in full on gaming as well.
Landscape display is the only way forward.none of these vertical screen are good. Will never buy an vertical display as 7 out of 10 games won't work properly. I not even gonna mention older games......
OMG, that’s too hot for handheld not comfortable to hold .
this device makes 0 sense.
at that price its not worth it
The base model is the same price as its competitors what are you talking about?
The Phawx, your videos have been getting very verbose and overly technical. Hard to watch at times, perhaps simplifying the structure could prove beneficial.
I wonder if I should do a quicker first impressions video and following it up with a more technical one
Idk he is the only one that goes this in depth which i like.
@@ThePhawxhe's giving bad advice.
great vid
@@ThePhawx its your channel, just wanted to share some feedback from a relatively technical person. I do like hte idea of an impressions video which maybe more subjective and to the point then a follow up deep dive.
Completely agree with you. It can be too technical. I think a first impressions video followed by a "in depth" video would be beneficial.
