Impossible to know difference between both with 13bhp difference and same torque figure. This one more fuel efficient and better choice. Off roading aani bhi toh chahiye na, bas gaadi le lene se kya hoga 😂

Nice video. Yes the new Thar 2WD RWD is definitely a runaway hit. Easily can manage all our horrible roads, not Thales, speed bumps and floods and heavy rains in Indian cities. And one can drive fearlessly around in it. It’s a Mahindra after all, not a delicate toy.
In india 4 by 4 means employ a pair of bulls (4 legs x 4 legs) to pull the car thru rain/flooded roads. That is, if suddenly one gets caught in a down pour and village mud road gets slushy. Ofcourse bulls are a rare sight nowadays. In dec 23 floods in chennai, even the Jeep compass conked out but a NIOS petrol 1200 cc went thru about knee deep water for about 100 metres. In 2015 floods many ordinary vehicles were going above knee deep water. Mostly diesels are good at water wading but Thar is very good at water wading as seen in last floods. 4x4 is useful in village mud roads.
9.99 price tag & side facing rear row seats would have got me running to my dealership. I guess we'll need to wait for a while more for that. I'm sure there will be one after Mahindra is done milking the premium the brand enjoys. They might call it a Mahindra DI or something. But for those of us looking for an urban workhorse, it really doesn't matter. Wish you both had also compared the turning circle radius from the 2 variants. The 5.9M from the 4/4 Thar is too wide. I'm hoping that the 2wd would have a turning circle radius of about 5.3M like the Bolero Neo.
Mr Muth...stop making excuses.... Replacing front facing seats with side facing seats is a child's play and Lil bit of effort at rto for seating capacity conversion..
@@DHS562 🤣😂 I thought about that. Will have to go to the workshop to get a single peace tailgate anyway. I'll try it out 1 of these days. The turning circle radius has to be reasonable. That's non negotiable. Thanks 😍
Very unlikely that side facing variant will ever be made. This got 4* rating with front facing rear seats. Ratings are normally on base model and side facing seats will see ncap rating drop.
I have been waiting for ur review…. Bhayya, do u suggest thar petrol 2wd as a daily commute in terms on mileage …what do u have to say?I know thar petrol mileage is in single digit , does it bring any difference with the weight reduction in 2wd
@@pgohil100 , thank u for ur quick response. I was initially planning for Thar 4x4 petrol manual this month and suddenly from December I started hearing this news about Thar RWD. It would come with 1.5ltr diesel engine Automatic diesel engine 4X4 option Cruise control On paper it's mentioned the introductory price only for first 10k bookings
Best option/Move by Mahindra would be giving 4x4 option in 1.5Lt Diesel engine as it will then have both good mileage and 4x4 capabilities (since torque already is 300Nm). It will also be cheaper than the current 4x4 diesel.

If you don't off-road at all, rwd is the choice of course, but even if you do, rwd is still capable of off roading lol. Yes , of course , not as capable as 4×4 but good enough for almost every terrain you encounter. Nobody is mentioning this as an off road. Toh Bolero ko bhul gya kya Saab log ko?
Those psuedo suvs you are talking about is more safer than thar. THAR is a lifestyle so don't compare it with others. Just like you can't compare others with THAR.
@@anu6389 Agree. But frankly i dont see a point. Its just to make 'statement'. 'Functionally' a monocoque SUV beats this day in and day out.
