The wind sings a song on harp strings. Yes, the tones you hear are JUST the wind touching the harp strings! There is nothing quite as magical and peaceful as the wind playing a harp… except the wind playing 2 harps! While filming our "Closer to the Heart" music video ( ruclips.net/video/QHUPY6yN7_4/видео.html ) the wind was quite intense and the sound of it playing the harps’ strings was unlike anything we’ve ever heard before. So, we recorded the mystical sound for you. Here is 1 hour of magical and healing harp strings in the wind, along with other nature sounds like water, waves, wind, and birds.

One of your supporters called this video "All we are is Harps in the Wind." Consider trying this is the State of Kansas. I hope someday you ladies will be able to record the song Dust in the Wind. It fits your music so well. The word Kansas actually comes from the Kanza Native American Indians. It translates to People of the South Wind. Which is the direction the wind is blowing from most of the time.

Reminds me a bit of the "music" I used to hear out on the prairies of West River South Dakota. Every once in a while I could hear these types of sounds when on horseback out in the middle of nowhere, miles and miles from anyone or anywhere. There was a bit more of a 'Twinkling' quality to those sounds but some of the sounds coming off the harp strings are very nearly the same as what I used to hear. Thank you for the memory of those sounds. God bless!
Just beautiful. Hearing mother nature sing a song to all her creatures....It makes me think here.. what were all the animals and creatures were thinking when they heard these harps playing.
I must admit I didn't play the entire video all the way through, but flicked through various sections. Some of those sounds could be used for suspenseful effects in movies, foley artists spend ages trying to get atmospheric sounds like those :)
Numinous and reposeful. I believe you and your mom see the world through a different lens than most. Open hearts, minds, and souls. He works through you. Thank you for capturing and producing that. Timely. You're very kind, thoughtful, and percipient.
My comment was kinda pensive and philosophical as I'd just played the video through without pausing. The sounds in this were quite something that must've been amazing to hear in person-much stronger, more intense. I remember how cool and magical it was to hear the wind (or fae as I think you said at the time given the event) playing your harps a little at WoF in 2017. Fun memories! Oh, and the lens, is a lens of love.
I had to look it up to be, but I had remembered hearing about something called a "Window Harp" also known as an "Aolian Harp" they were popular during the Victorian era according to what I read

My favourite place to play is outside for this reason. As soon as it gets a wee bit windy I’m straight outside. Housework be dammed. 😂
How do you tune such a harp? How do you keep it in tune?
There's a tool called a tuning key which you use to turn pegs at the top of each string. The strings are wrapped around the pegs and turning them makes the string produce a higher or lower sound.
We tune them one string at a time. We tune very frequently. Harps are notorious for going out of tune with any change in temperature, humidity, even being moved.

The wind does have a very unique tone that blends well with the sounds of nature in the background. Nature must have enjoyed your music so much that it decided to share some of its music with you. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Fred S ~ Absolutely! Thank you for your sweet compliment and encouragement! Waves, birds, wind through harp strings... nature plays it's own melody. We are glad you enjoyed it. Sending love and blessings, x2
You two are my angels of music with your very well trained harps.. Love you to pieces... very nice gals..
How old are we anyway. yipes ~ Wow, thank you! So happy you enjoyed it! Sending love and blessings, x2
Thank you for posting this. I was going through Harp Twins withdrawal. I hope you are doing as well as possible. Take care and be well.
Paul Rollings ~ You are so welcome! We hope you are well and staying safe. We miss our beloved grandmother very much but are comforted knowing she truly is in a better place. We know it may be a very long time before we are able to resume touring so we are keeping very busy creating new music and related projects that we can work on from home to support ourselves. We will continue to share bits of our days on our other social media sites. We will post updates and fun things on our monthly e-newsletter harptwins.com/newsletter
Sending love and blessings to you, x2
