I want to ask, if it is possible to put firewall fortigate behind huawei router ? if possible what ip should I give to wan interface ?

yes its possible. You can have huawei router as a gateway/router and plug fortigate firewall to it. However, it is not something recommended because fortigate is a security device, if you are planning to use it for securing your network, you want that to be your primary gateway, not huawei. You could setup huawei as a bridge mode which will pass all the routes to fortigate without interfering with any security. However, I am not sure if huawei has a feature to enable bridge mode. You will have to check that under huawei router.

if you want updated AV, IPS, DNS, Webfilter and other UTM features, then Fortigate does charge yearly fee for those services. The fee depends on the type of model you have. If you dont renew these UTM services, the fortigate will NOT stop working, you just wont have latest UTM updates which will only protect you against the threats you have old signatures for in your fortigate. All new and zero day attacks will not be blocked. Hope that answers your question.

@@loyaltechsecurity Isn't it true that to even download firmware updates, you have to pay some sort of yearly fee. Maybe a small fee?
