What kind of tortoise is that ? I have two Sulcatas. I had open table and was informed that closed chambers are better for young tortoises. For my sulcatas and most tortoises you need high humidity (80percent) for the first 3 years of their life, which is impossible to obtain in an open air enclosre. I currently have closed chamber now but im gonna build new one soon. It's entire shell and base will be wood, and im gonna make all 5 sides of plexiglass. Top will be attached with little door hinge so I can easily lift open. So it will be a completely closed chamber, but completely see thru on all sides. ALSO KNOW THAT MOST TORTOISE DATA BEFORE 2015 IS ALREADY OUTDATED AND INCORRECT. We didn't even start keeping tortoises as pets until around the 70s. There's not enough data out. Join THE TORTOISE FORUM. They have an app. Lots of vets and doctors and breeders who have been doing this stuff for years on there and they answer questions and help
DebieDoesDalas69 TRG hi when my wife bought the tortoise we were informed that an open top was better with a heat lamp over head until he is about 1 year old then enclosing him in is better but I am not sure what breed it is all I know is it's a tortoise thanks for the question
