(1) Robert Seña, the soloist, is an international theatre veteran (part of the Miss Saigon original cast)... He can surely hold his own on a huge stage. (2) The song he sang is a re-worked version of the original "Kay Ganda ng ating Musika" composed by National Artist for Music, Mr. Ryan Cayabyab. (3) The show was live from the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, but the lighting of the cauldron, which was located in New Clark City (abt 90 miles away), was pre-recorded and was just edited into the video.

The reason why they didn't focus the queen because its not a beauty pageant, it's an athletes parade so they focus more on the athletes. Don't be mad, Pia is the muse of Philippines and Megan for Indonesia. Other queens such Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman, Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrel, Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman, Miss multinational 2018 Sophia Senoron are muses in the parade, and all of the muses are Filipina beauty queens, you can check all the name when you search it on Google.

Most foreign athletes haven't arrived yet at the Philippines and most of them arrive in Philippines like 1 day ahead their designated sports game and this Sea Games Event has less than 2 weeks duration time. Thus those foreign athletes in this opening ceremony are those who will compete a day after this opening ceremony.

Vice Ganda is very talented specially in hosting and comedy but in terms of performing, there are a lot of artists and legends here in the Philippines greater than him. I don't think there's a homophobic thing going on. This event is for our country and our Southeast Asian brothers. Also, the parade is for the athletes and not the queens. The queens did a great job representing the countries and basing on their posts on social media, it is enough honor for them.

It has been years and sadly to say that Filipinos only support Ms Universe Pageants shows and now, this year, is the only time were the hard working athletes are the real focus and highlights in this year.

The budget for the SEA games includes, all the housing, accomodation, transportation, security and food (almost 4 Million pesos a day for food alone) for the athletes. It quite a lot but it's all an investment for the future.
