She has the money to rent. Maybe she just didn’t want to buy anything to keep. If you’re poor, just say so. You don’t need to be spreading cheap advice. For everyone who actually wants to buy high quality to keep and pass down: DO YOUR RESEARCH and buy lab grown.
I just buy jewelry from vintage and antique stores. They have gorgeous jewelry with real precious and semi precious stones for CHEAP. Like anywhere from a few bucks $10 to at most a couple hundred bucks. Idk why anyone would spend thousands on a few pieces of jewelry outside of a wedding ring 💍 they’re not appreciating assets… that’s just me tho.
That jewelry isn’t always as advertised. Also, semiprecious stones are called that for a reason. They’re much weaker and have lower durability than actual precious stones. That’s why diamonds are at the top of the Mohs Scale of hardness. It’s much less likely to break if your hand bumps into something. Also, the design of the metal holding the stone is important. If it’s too thin, it will warp over time. If there’s not enough prongs on the stone, they’ll weaken and the stone will fall out (that’s most of the jewelry price you’re paying for, the stone).
I recommend you to watch @bijoulab ‘s shorts on jewelry quality (she mostly does engagement rings, but it’s the same with most jewelry just smaller and usually only one stone). That channel has educated me so much
I’m happy with the $400 necklace of my husband’s birthstone and borrowing my mom’s jewelry but I’m happy that renting was an option that worked for you and your budget
This would never sit right with Indian parents, lol. Our logic is we'd rather spend more on the jewelry and buy them other than spending money just so u can wear it for a few hours.
I thrifted my wedding pearls for 15 bucks and felt beautiful. Could have afforded this option but I prefer to keep that money in savings and investments for our future goals!
Best option is to use fake ones! Even for the rings, use fake ones! Wedding is total chaos and you do not want to end up with losing your real jewelries.
I immediately thought of the customer possibly damaging or losing the jewelry! I guarantee they have you sign a contract saying you’ll be paying full price if damaged or loss so even tho I would possibly rent jewelry, I would NOt rent that high of an amount 😂
In my culture we have to have to buy as much gold as possible and tho I've never understood the need for it i also understand now how that gold jewellery acts as a great investment.
Nah, the risk of losing the rentals will be too high. I'd rather purchase something fake/affordable that still looks decent than try to rent real high end items and risk paying fees if it's lost or stolen 😅
No, not every bride wants to look like a million bucks on her wedding day. Materialistic people have a hard time imagining a world where people don’t place value on things. Btw, do we know the source of those diamonds or did some children in Africa have to die in order for you to look like a million bucks.
Lots of brides do though…I can’t imagine a wedding where the bride doesn’t want to look positively divine and radiant. Like, ok if you don’t have the budget, fine. But if you don’t even want to make an effort…are you sure you want to have a wedding? Just go to a courthouse in a cheap white dress, then. There are lots of budget options for brides. She was just sharing something she did that saved her a lot of money on her wedding. Yes, it’s expensive. But considering the average wedding dress costs $1800, people will AND do go into debt for their wedding. Not everything she shares has to work for you. This isn’t a wedding planning page. Her tips are general finance advice. If you want better tips for your wedding, find a wedding planning YT channel that gives that advice. Also: it’s not her fault these companies do that to children. She probably wanted to ensure the quality of the jewelry, as many lab grown jewelry is low quality. And there’s probably not many options to rent it out either. At least this jewelry is getting much more use as rentals, instead of sitting in some rich person’s closet, and she’s paying a fraction of the cost, so the company’s not getting nearly as rich for the price those children paid. Wbu? You shopping on Temu, Shein or at any mall, retail store? Who do you think makes those clothes? Chinese people in sweatshops trying to feed their families. You buy your cheap wedding jewelry at Claire’s like other people have commented? Guess where that’s manufactured? Oh wait.. You can’t afford to actually shop ethically so you HAVE to shop at all those places above? What a surprise
Right idea for a married considering most end up in a divorce. But definitely helps when spending money 💰 wisely. Weddings don't need to be expensive especially when your focus is just about getting married.
Not worth throwing away 3k and getting nothing in return - better off buying some beautiful jewellery at a simpler and more affordable price that you can keep and pass on to your children

The average Indian woman owns 200,000- 500,000 dollars of real jewelry. We only buy real stuff. That being said, its an expense that is totally worthless, only if you think of it as a utility spend. We Indians only spend a lot of money on it because we think of it as an investment , something to pass of to the next generation, and we rewear jewelry all the freaking time.
It all looks a bit fake, so I would just buy some cheap stirling silver and zirconia jewels that I could take home and keep as momentoes instead, cost a lot less than 2k total
I'd personally go with moissanite jewelry. It's as good looking as real one if not better (diamond sparkles a bit more). Almost as durable real diamond but a fraction of the price.
Yea but you have to buy that. Maybe she wasn’t interested in buying and just wanted something to rent for the day. Also, quality is important. Just because it’s a cheaper stone doesn’t mean there’s no inclusions and the cut is always high quality. You still have to shop around and find good quality for the price. Some lab grown jewelry is not high quality. Some jewelers don’t cut the stone right.
I agree! It comes down to preferences. Personally, I'd rather buy than renting for almost same price for a nearly identical product. I can also reuse it on other occasion! It is also true that quality matters and bad cuts are made on real, lab diamonds and moissanites. You have to pick a good looking piece. Just like cheap ≠ good quality, the same goes for expensive items.

Always get an appraisal cause you’ll be surprised to find out that it’s not what you think the cost is.
The hate comments are hilarious 😂 like if you’re ignorant about jewelry and prefer to buy costume junk, ok. Fine, be cheap on your wedding day. Ok, let the jewelry turn your skin green.
And yet you have a smile of 2.5 billion dollars, when you smile, your eyes brighten up too. 🇨🇳💜
I think borrowing jewelry from family members is so sweet
What a waste of money, she's absolutely gorgeous. She doesn't need any of those accessories!!!
Lol.. when they gave jewelry names like they're humans
That channel has educated me so much
I love the idea of renting out jewelry for special events like your wedding. However, I would be worried that I would lose it and break it.
This one surprised me Viv, i thought you would know that expensive jewelery is a scam
Even rented
It’s for a special occasion. She’s not keeping.
Congratulations on your wedding from another Vivian 👰🏻♀️💍❤
Excellent idea ❤😊
I’m happy with the $400 necklace of my husband’s birthstone and borrowing my mom’s jewelry but I’m happy that renting was an option that worked for you and your budget
This would never sit right with Indian parents, lol. Our logic is we'd rather spend more on the jewelry and buy them other than spending money just so u can wear it for a few hours.
Congratulations young lady😊
Congratulations beautiful 🤩! 🎉
Shes our rich BFF Vivian.. what do you expect? 3k is nothing to her… wedding only happens once so go have it girly
I think this is so cool!! Rent jewelry for a wedding ! Why not. I bet this is a very lucrative idea ❤❤
Go to india and you can get amazing jewellery for that price
Go to Claire's or Goodwill/ Salvation army and save another $2800.
😮 you are amazing! And you make my life easy with your knowledge 👌♥️
I thrifted my wedding pearls for 15 bucks and felt beautiful. Could have afforded this option but I prefer to keep that money in savings and investments for our future goals!
Too bad diamonds are worthless because their is an unlimited supply that's controlled by 1 company
$2850 is not cheap, buy your own with that amount, have sharp eyes and a bit of sense or fashion and you’re good to go
Best option is to use fake ones! Even for the rings, use fake ones! Wedding is total chaos and you do not want to end up with losing your real jewelries.
Congratulations on your wedding!
I immediately thought of the customer possibly damaging or losing the jewelry! I guarantee they have you sign a contract saying you’ll be paying full price if damaged or loss so even tho I would possibly rent jewelry, I would NOt rent that high of an amount 😂
You could just go to 3-D printing jewelry shop and make identical jewelry fot 1/6 of the price
In my culture brides close family members buy her gold jewellery sets for her wedding
I want to hear your life story, how you made your success.
In my culture we have to have to buy as much gold as possible and tho I've never understood the need for it i also understand now how that gold jewellery acts as a great investment.
Awesome knowledge to know
Congratulations have a wonderful wedding
You are so amazing and awesome. I love you.
Wonderful idea, what is the insurance policy that is required to have that dollar amount on your body😊
My anxiety could never.
Potentially some of the worse financial advice I’ve heard in sometime
Right idea for a married considering most end up in a divorce. But definitely helps when spending money 💰 wisely. Weddings don't need to be expensive especially when your focus is just about getting married.
Our "big wedding" went into a downpayment on an apartment in my wifey HK, it's pretty much been rented for our 23 years of wedding
This is such a fantastic thing. But I’m a sucker for a tennis bracelet and I think I’d have to buy it and keep it! 😊
bravo, my rich BFF. Salute.🌹 you look good.
Congratulations!
In other words, fake it! How much insurance did you pay?! More than that 2 grand amount, surely…..
I must be weird. Family jewelry is more attractive to me than a $120,000 set of jewelry.
All beautiful
Not worth throwing away 3k and getting nothing in return - better off buying some beautiful jewellery at a simpler and more affordable price that you can keep and pass on to your children
Oh wow, congrats!
Friendly reminder that diamonds are absolutely worthless and artificially inflated. They’re also some of the most common gems.
Which is a perfect reason to rent them
Congratulations 🎊 ❤
Why not just buy costume jewelry? I am confused. You don’t get bragging rights by renting even a billion dollars worth of jewelry.
I think I’d like to keep my wedding jewellery and not have to give it back and in India it’s not as expensive to buy diamond jewellery so it’s easier for us to just buy them
And then you’ve got to live with the fear of losing them, all day 😅
That's still insane. Who cares what jewelry you wear. You don't even need any.
I’d rather buy a cheap knockoff that looks similar for $20 😂
I would buy fake. There are fake jewelry that looks expensive and really good for half that price of purchasing and renting.
Every man needs a woman like her.
Congratulations 🎉
I have hand made stuff from my friends and hand me downs. I'm set lol
😮😮😮 Really Vivian? Why would you be promoting a jewelry renting. Spend over $2, 00 on something that will never will be ours. You are promoting to be living for the Jones. Beyond our means. 😮😮😢 you lost my vote on this one😮
It’s for a singular purpose. She’s not purchasing everyday pieces
It looks like high quality costume jewelry.
You didn't include the price you paid to rent the jewelry.
Clearly showed the 3k at the end 🤦🏽♂️
