    The member who was kicked out is the guy who said "Im the black Tom Hanks". If you want to hear a bit more about the band's feelings on the situation you can listen to Dearly Departed. However, I would also recommend listening to Milk or Tonya if you want deeper lyrics.

    No Halo would be a great introduction to Ginger. It's going to be really interesting to see what you have to say about the music on that album. Maybe even go in order one by one and see what they're like now. It'd even be funny to compare that work to the ones you've reacted to so far

    Surprised you’re so open minded about gay people as a Catholic. Most if not all Catholic people I meet aren’t very accepting of a lot of things.
    Edit: I spoke too soon.

      I think Catholic’s can culturally and socially come off as close minded sometimes, but often I think it’s a case of folks who aren’t comfortable or prepared to back up or defend their faith before questioned or challenged that leads them to adopt a “fists in the air” approach to controversial topics. I’m open to the reality of same sex attraction, like I acknowledge a it’s a real thing, but I still agree with the Church’s stance on it and I don’t condone that lifestyle. The church also condemns the recreational use of drugs and objectification of women and I think my videos would be VERY long if I had to address every one of those topics every time they came up in a song. I may broach the topic soon though. Thanks for listening and bringing this up. I’m not trying to hide anything and I’m open sharing why I believe what I do. Hopefully I can be that open minded Catholic for you.

      AlecTheCatholic Condoning means you don’t accept it though. So you’re still homophobic. People don’t choose to be gay or bisexual or whatever. It’s crazy to me that people still hold onto these beliefs and values in 2020. When are we going to live in a world where anybody and everybody is accepted and loved for who they are?

      @@alecthecatholic3380 I'm bisexual and it's not a controversy lol it's my reality. I was raised Catholic and I would cry on my bedroom floor at night and I'd pray to God for guidance. It's not something you can condone, it's just something that is. I can't help the butterflies in my chest and the thoughts of a good life with someone I love... Your belief of same-sex attraction being something to object to or something to think isn't right, that hurts every LGBT person in this society because it perpetuates the acceptability of homophobia and it implies that we're inherently lesser human beings. Homophobia isn't just an opinion, it's the reason why LGBT kids kill themselves, the reason I questioned if God loved me, the reason families disown loved ones. Even if you're not as extreme in your thinking, it still perpetuates that culture.
      Also, love isn't the same thing as using recreational drugs.

      Homophobic implies that I have an irrational fear of homosexuals. Which is definitely not the case. I do know people who have same-sex attraction and I still love them and respect them and believe that God loves them even more than I do. That’s not homophobic is it? We don’t believe in divorce and re-marriage either, but you wouldn’t call me divorceaphobic, right? I think that label is thrown at Catholics because it sounds more bad than true. And people definitely don’t choose to feel attracted to the opposite sex anymore than they choose any of their emotions. That’s why it’s called a passion, it’s something that happens to you and you can’t help but experience. What a person chooses to do because of that feeling is a different story. I don’t appreciate being lumped into the category of the “unloving” and “close minded”just because I disagree with the actions that some people decide to take. I don’t think that’s fair. I’m not protesting anybody’s life choices here or condemning them for making them. I disagree with society at large on the topic and I think that’s OK. We should be able to talk about it without being labeled and shouted down or mocked or laughed at. If the Catholic Church is wrong we should be able to talk about it and get down to the reason why. I’m open to having that discussion, but only if it’s a respectful discussion and it’s a mutual pursuit of what’s true.

    • @alecthecatholic3380
      @alecthecatholic3380  4 года назад

      Homophobia is an irrational fear of homosexuality or homosexuals. I definitely don’t have that and neither myself nor the Catholic Church (in it’s doctrine or dogma) sees anyone with same-sex attraction as inherently lesser human beings. I’m sorry if anyone has made you feel that way, it’s just not the true. You and every bisexual or homosexual or transsexual and everyone in the LGBT community is a child of God and is loved by Him, 24/7. I don’t believe that disagreeing with someone’s actions implies I have an irrational fear of them or proves that I see them as somehow “less than”. I agree that same-sex attraction and recreational drugs are not even in the same category and that was probably a bad analogy. So please accept my apology for that. I think much of our differences on this subject might stem from a major difference in what we think “love” is. Ultimately, I’d love for you to see that I’m a pretty extreme Catholic, very traditional and very orthodox. That’s actually why I’m more open to having the discussion and talking to you about this. The Church is NOT closed to anyone. You deserve to be treated like an equal and given the chance to be heard and have your beliefs questioned too. Are you open to continuing this discussion via email? I have an address in my “About”. If I’m wrong and the Church is wrong, I’m open to letting you explain why in a private conversation. I love the truth and I’d hate to keep living in a lie. I see that you believe I really am wrong and I think email is a better medium for is to talk about it.
