I made a digging box. I was using card board boxes that I cut down low but now I have a large plastic “bin”. Think super big litter box. I keep fresh hay in it and sprinkle herbs, special hay or pellets for them to forage. They will literally spend hours in it! Yes, they poop but I just kind of sift those out. If they pee in it, it tends to be one corner so it’s easy to clean that out. It just keep them very busy.
Getting my first bunny this Friday, after over a decade of guinea pigs and I’m sooooooo excited!! I have some of the basics, but need to order a few goodies, like rabbit food, etc ♥️

I use cardnoard houses for cats from chewy they are-colorful and he loves to hide and chew on each one He also loves to help me build them 😊
Cardboard can cause blockages if they’re ingesting it. I would not recommend

@@amymorgan1952Most rabbits chew it and spit it out. This is why you watch your animals. 😂 I literally only had 1 pass from a blockage and it was a constant GI issues with him for the 2 years I had him because the moron owner I rescued him from kept him out in 30 degree F weather in a crap cage, fed him low quality pellets mixed with seed and didn’t give him hay. I had to make the decision after syringe feeding him for 3 weeks and a major blockage to have him put down at 5 years old. I gave him the best for those 2 years that I could. My 6 rabbits now are all seniors and given the very best 5 out of the 6 being 9 to 12 years old. We’ve fostered over 40 rabbits in 10 years. All our rabbits 🐇 were breeder dumps at the humane society in our state.
It's tough to hear about the bun that had to be put down, though knowing you did everything you could and he got to experience a loving and caring home for the remaining years of his life is truly heartwarming. 💚Thanks for sharing your story, insight, and for rescuing so many rabbits! I use cardboard for my rabbits flooring. When I used to have them out in the xpen with carpet flooring. The carpet was too rough on their hocks and they got minor sore hocks. My vet recommeded that i used cardboard to protect their feet. I will also use 100% cotton sheets or towels if i dont have cardboard.
please don’t handle your rabbit like that, you should always support their bottom too or they could get hurt 🥺❤️🩹
