I fully agree. I know they grow well in the Netherlands as well. A relatively long growing season with nicd temperatures and enough rain. In taiga midsommer countries the season is short. Also ice that can brake the seedlings. But often enough snow to protect against minus 30, 40 c. If my 3 little 9 month old seedlings do not make it I will try again and use plastic pilons to protect against ice (snowlayers melted and frozen at night).
I hope they have turned on a gene that alowes them to survive in the cold more or less like in the national park in us where they also have a lot of snow...
I would advised 75% thin sand and 25% compost for seed sprouting. When the tree seedling is transfered to a container I would say 75% compost, 25# thin sand.
Different sequoia tree variaties lived all over europe, asia and north america before the iceage. Giant sequoia trees can grow much faster in perfect conditions then the ones in the mountains in USA. Just give them full sun, lots of nutrition and moisture and they grow udge in 80 years time.

During midsummer i think the nights are not dark (long) enough for them to grow. They actually grow during the dark hours
What potting mix ratio do you use.
Thanks

😁👌👍
@@daveyv3139 Spring is good time for growing them. I forgot to write it is best no full sun when sprouting.
Your soil looks pretty wet though?
Step 1 is 24h hydration...
@@howtogrowdragonfruitplant7849 Do you recommend keeping water always in the drainage plate saucer
