Hi Hugh I’ve really enjoyed all your videos and every time I have a spare day I head west from Buckie and have been on several roads you’ve used and intend to do the ones that I never knew about I spent 16 months restoring a v50 motto guzzi and empathise with you sorting out the oil leaks 👍👍 many thanks
@@robertmorrice2282 Hi Robert Buckie is the most wonderful town. My wife and I love it spending holidays there. Also in Portnockie and Portsoy. You head west and I head east! Enjoy some good trips on your Guzzi. Thanks for the positive comment.
Many thanks for uploading this series of videos. Your tear down and then rebuild of your C15 has made me dust off my b25 and start riding again without the fear of there being a mechanical problem too great to handle. BTW Vacations in Durness have made me appreciate the beauty of the North - i can't wait for the summer to go again...
Thanks for posting this ride it brought a wave of nostalgia as a C15 was my first proper motorcycle and I was right there with you down those country roads. Mine was a similar vintage to yours but with a red and chrome tank, chrome mudguards and an enormous chrome headlight complete with feeble 6V bulb. I suppose in retrospect it was a rattley and leaky old thing that was always trying to disassemble itself but I was young and love is blind 😊.
@@hughferrier5837 I am reminded of a party I attended in a quiet terraced street back in the 70s when the host (on instructions from absent parents) asked that we leave quietly to avoid upsetting the neighbours. We dutifully kept our voices down and almost tiptoed out to our parked bikes, mostly BSA 250s of various models. You can probably guess the rest, half a dozen kickstarts were duly pumped and I don’t think we had a baffle between us. Even over the ensuing roar I could hear windows rattling in their frames as the sound echoed down the street. We were never invited back.
You've done a great job of this engine/bike rebuild Hugh brings back memories for me as the C15 was my first motorcycle in the early 1970's would love another now !
@@hughferrier5837 My C15 was the same probably due to crankcase pressure and poor engine breathing something I just lived with enjoy your motorcycle tho !
@@barryjones5194 My friend has a red 1960 model for sale. He lives in Bonnybridge if you are interested. I was riding it yesterday, but it's not for me as I'm used to battery start.
The bike looks and sounds wonderful. Thanks for uploading, it has given me a bit of motivation to get out and continue with mine. Lovely countryside as well.
Now I know who it was and what you were riding past our cottage in Strathy a few months ago. I caught a brief glimpse but couldn't make out what bike it was. That's a very healthy sounding engine, I seem to remember hearing it more than once.
Sorry I'm disturbing your peace. I do go over by Strathy quite often in summer. It's a lovely wee run. I'm aware the engine makes a lot of noise going up the steep hill. Enjoy your lovely place. Hugh
Hello Patrick I know where Strathy in Sutherland is. A lovely road that runs down to Helmsdale. This Strathy is in Easter Ross just up from Ardross. Both lovely places. Thanks for watching and commenting
@@patrickdoake6022 This Strathy is in Easter Ross near Alness. There is another in the North of Sutherland. It has a lot less trees at the North end! Sorry it's taken 2 years to reply. I have just noticed it.

Andrew that's great. These old bikes have to be used. They are so frustrating but enormous fun. Enjoy your B25. Thanks for the comment

That is so nice of you Barry but it isn't a great job! Still losing oil. Its kind of like an oil watering can!

Wow you are quick, David. I so appreciate that, though, that you make the effort. It will be lovely to see yours running.

Top 👍👍👍
I paid 15 pounds for a C11g in 1964. I saw one advertised for over 4000 pounds recently. I wish that I still had it. Ric from Oz 🙍♂️ 🇭🇲 🦘 👍 😎
Oh the good old days. Ric if we could have invested back then and 60 years laters sold them off! No one has that foresight though!
