Because alot of fans where rooting for stiles. Parrish fits her better in many ways but stiles was the underdog who was trying unconditionally since he was little. (He was obsessed tbh) In real life stiles wouldn't get the girl because simply wanting and trying endlessly isn't enough to be with someone. Basically people watch fiction to be entertained but also to live vicariously through it. People like the underdog to succeed, it gives them the illusion that they can reach or get everything they want of they try hard enough. Or at least see it happen, the funny weirdo, who nobody takes seriously get the girl way out of his league. At least they had stiles maturing and build up the relationship. Unlike Scott and Malia who got rushed outta nowhere. You don't deserve someone simply because you want it badly and you worked for it. That's outright discarding the other person's wants and needs because you've decided you are the best for them, because you want in your opinion you are the one who value them or want them the most. It's a quite self centered way of thinking and objectifies the other not in a sexual way like it often happens but in a 'I know better, you aren't an individual who can think or want by yourself or have opinion about it, you suit my needs and if you disagree it's because you aren't capable of making sound decisions by yourself or because you don't understand yet that I know better, because if you did, you would accept it.' Aka I know better than you having a clue about yourself but really actually I don't act like you are independent being apart from me. So in real life people like that are It's either a narcissist ; people are here to satisfy my needs even if I don't admit it consciously or unconsciously. Or a self centered guilt rejecting type; everybody's wrong or at fault else than me when things go wrong and I never get what deserve, if only they would see. Re-watching Teen Wolf makes me so annoyed these two weren't endgame. They had mad chemistry and were so so cute together. Honestly imo: -Parrish and Lydia were absolutely perfect for each other -Stiles and Lydia should have just stayed very close friends -Stiles should have stayed with Malia cause wtf is scott and malia?
I thought they will end up together since they were getting a progress in their relationship but unfortunately, we didn't get it. Teen Wolf has a best plot but got disappointed with the end game love pairs.
