Many rule mistakes doesn't stop this to be one of the most watchable BatReps of the year. Kudos!
I love playing Warhammer "fantasy", just a shame it's no longer supported. It's good to see the game still gets some love, keep it up!

I love this battle report! Yeah you guys got a few rules off here and there but they weren't totally game breaking. But most importantly everything seemed a lot more relaxed and very straight forward.
Also really hope Todd comes in to play more often! One of the better gamers I've seen in a long time!
Not compared to Steve taking 2 turns in a row. THAT is game breaking.

Silver lining.
The Phoenix Guard's 4+ ward save is a huge pain in the butt.
I don't get why he is using all his magic, specially the one that ignores armor, in the only unit that have saves against it.
At the end there, around 1:16:40 there are a few mistakes:
Dark Elves should be getting rerolls because of hatred.
Phoenix Guard do not get rerolls because both sides have ASF. As such all combat happens at the same time and neither side can reroll.
Dark Elves are fighting with hw/shield and so should be getting a parry save against those halberd hits.

dark elves hate high elves --> they reroll always in 1st round of combat! and clearly you must have forgotten how always strike first works! the rule lets you reroll only if the enemy unit hasn't got always strike first AND a lower initiative. since all DE except the executioners got always strike first steve can't have rerolls while todds dark elves including the executioners have always rerolls in the 1st round of combat.
Steve cheating? Get outta here....

Rules you got wrong, you forgot the combat resolution for the last fight with the Dark Elf sorceress. You get to re roll panic ,fear and terror when playing High elves against Dark elves (Valour of ages p.36) your shadow warriors fled first round. Phoenix guard cause fear(page 50 +94). still a hilarious game well played both.
Also I believe the Hydra has Regen as well as a scaly skin armour save, unless that was taken out?

You guys missed the elf vs elf rules. High elves have immune to psychology when fighting dark elves and the dark elf army has hatred (high elves) so some of those combats could have gone quite differently.
Also Steve took a lot of re-rolls he shouldn't have. Any time 2 models have always strikes first they lose their re-rolls and both strike at the same time. Only the dark elves should have been getting re-rolls from hatred.
No offense or anything but this game was kinda a mess rules wise. Kinda understandable since you guys were barely keeping it together from the ridiculousness.

Sword and board, makes him more survivable with a bonus to armor and the parry. halberd is 2h after all
@@truegregthompson he doesn't have the board though, all he gets are magic attacks

@59:00 Dark Elves have hatred(High Elves) so the Black Guard could have rerolled.
Blackguard themselves actually have Eternal Hatred, so they have hatred (everything) for every round of combat, not to mention they're stubborn with ld 9 so the survivor shouldn't have run either.
I love how in the end it becomes a magical duel :D
And in the end I want to think that since the Sorceress didn't die, the Asur had to capture her. She was too much of a badass to kill.

I would like to get a better look at those Dark Elves! They look painted but everything on the model is so dark (there isn't a lot of contrast) that it just looks like he's pushing around primed models that have been based!
Murder elves are still the best !! LOL love the grudge match best old world in a long time!!

at 35:00 would the master re-roll to hit because of great weapons canceling out the always strike first? also doesn't the always strike first rule prevent anythings not fighting against great weapons from re-rolling to hit? at 1:00:00 black guard are stubborn. forgot dark elf lore attribute at 1:09:00
The dice betrayal is real in this game.
so here we see steve playing high elves going against what i can only assume are neutral elves since they seem to have forgotten both hatred high elves and murderous prowess so far
that charge to Swordmasters was the point Dark Elf lost, I wouldn't bring executioners to a high elf fight, shades are the best special of DE armies yet no one uses them, quite a shame.
Dark Elves have Eternal Hatred. They can always reroll hits in the first round of combat, and in additional rounds against High Elves. Also, Black Guard are stubborn, the one soldier would've stayed, blocking the unit.
Syraphym actually, only black guards have eternal hatred..
At 12:50 you should have rerolled the panic test because high elves can do so vs dark elves.

Hatred High Elves its rule of dark elves on almost the entire army
Great seeing a classic elf match-up. Did the crossbowmen without command swift reform? You need a musician for that right? And what about hatred? Dont forget to shoot them archers Steve! A final breaktest might've seen that sorceress overrun?

I've watched the guy running the camera a lot, and some of his rolls, such as when he was rolling the saves on the big spell targeting the phonix guard, its more of him dropping the dice, then a proper roll.
I thought DE alwayls reroll in first round in first round with Hatred (HE). Also ASF guys can't reroll another ASF duded except those with great weapons.
This is wrong channel for proper rules or tactical play.
