Nice video. I really just want to point in the direction of a player and pass it to him. I cannot work out the logic of the passing directions no matter how much I change the settings. I've been playing since about 2k11 and this aspect just seems to get worse every year. Is it possible to turn on a target reticle that appears above or below the intended receiver so I can adjust my pass properly? NBA Live did this years ago so I can't understand why it would not be in 2k. Maybe it is but I can't find the setting. I just don't gel with icon passing.
I haven't taken 2k seriously since 2k11 and this video was very helpful . I really like this 2k better than all the other 2k's its well balanced and I believe its the best one since 2k11 or 2k12 idr
Can you do lead icon passes when you have the option pass type control selected? I don't feel like the left stick direction + icon does anything other than a regular pass
Now when you say to throw a lead ikon pass like you say hit the right trigger to bring icons up and then hit the analog stick doesn't that give a a flashy pass
my player (currently 70 pass rating) throws the slowest passes. When running my player stops and throws the worst passes which can easily be intercepted. So annoying
The steals are od the defense is too fast.Specially the bigs.AD,Greek freek they be teleporting to the ball.Its a very glitchy animation blocks and steals are od in 23 and contest.They made the shots slow and the layups slow they force you to pick a team with dominate paint presence because it's just ridiculous how fast they move on defense vs how slow they move on offense.I had bigs come from behind me when I have kyrie or curry and wind up in front of me.Its clear that they purposely made the defense way faster than offense.
These videos cater to like maybe 5 people in the world. You need a minimum of 1000 hours and borderline PRO status to play like this. I can't do anything you do in these videos. I've only been playing sports games for 35 years so......... must be a lack of experience. This is the worst game I've ever played. NHL sucks too now. Madden is the only good game still going and its SOLELY because of franchise mode. But the gameplay controls for football make sense. The 2 knob skill sticks don't work for other sports. Its horrible for hockey, cool for a bit, but horrible in the end. You can't have a stick the moves a guy one way and another that controls aim or shot or ball handle finish??!!!! You've just eliminated 98% of the playable game. Its not piano, its sports. Mortal Kombat was ruined the exact same way. Adding combos and making the game a button memorizing disaster instead of a read and react sports game. Rant over.
you gotta atleast learn to icon pass in 2k, and you'll be fine. Thats always been a necessity. You obviously need to be able to choose who u want to pass to. Its vital to running any type of plays or anything and is pretty basic. If you can do that you dont have to learn all the other fancy passes if you insist not to but you cant expect to be even halfway decent if you cant icon pass at the least

It’s really not. 2k16 the best one EVER and 2k20 was pretty good.
I usually get the complete control of the game right about a month before the new one comes out

That fundamental pass style is the worst in the game.. make sure you don't have that equipped

Honestly that’s just a skill gap issue. After a lil practice most of these passes become second nature
