I went and put all the metal suspension, diff and gearing upgrades on and now my purple people eater weighs a ton. I shouldn't have to replace any more dog bones, though, I've gone through 3 sets because the plastic suspension pieces bend so much. Still working up the nerve to put $200 more in electronics and motor on a $160 plastic car though...already into it for more than $300
Car $140
Aluminium suspension, diff case, upgraded gears and driveshaft - $140
Extra dogbones/joints - $10 a set x??
'cheap' banggood motor/esc combo ~$50, new transmitter and servo ~$50
Suddenly your "$100" r/c car (it was never $100, let be honest) starts to enter the territory of more elite, bespoke cars by TA and Losi. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed working on this thing, but if you want to hit 100mph (even without upgrading the suspension/chassis) you're going to spend $500 or more, most of it on the electronics (do a price check on the mamba. go ahead, I'll wait).
CVD in the rear, kept arms plastic, changed hubs to aluminum, red & tacky grease in diffs, that’s a lot of metal, that can cause other weak spots, but that’s ur car 👍🏾🙏🏾

I run mine on 2s after brushless conversion I haven't tried 3s yet as it's so quick! Don't know whether it's worth the investment? Think I'll struggle to control it! That's serious speed on 2s!
Gonna need some speedrun bodies for those! I cant believe it lived through that tumble.
I've test fitted my 4tec speedrun body on and it fits nicely BUT I need to make up some body mount, might pick up a set of 4tec pillars / mounts and fabricate a couple of brackets, and I still can't believe it was rolling after that tumble!

What tires you using and are they 12mm hex? What motor and pinion size?

not wanting to belittle the project and the good profitability of achieving high speeds with only 7.4v, but this measurement at the time of the accident may have changed the values, since the car possibly gains more speed in the air,.. even so, the The project is good, and reaches high speeds with few volts and this has value, because many people stack batteries to achieve good speed, that is, they use a lot of current to achieve it, of course the choice of the combo (motor-variable) has a lot to do with the good performance of the car
The 100mph run was after the accident and a fresh reading.
How I wish there's a roller version of the that 12th scale buggy so I can make my own budget 100mph speed runner!

What brand /size/shore foam tires are you using? Looking to buy some for my 124019 rc that should do about 75mph if I can get it to hook up. I will be building a 100mph 124019 this year as my goal. Thanks for the great Video.

Hi Richie I’m making my 124019 into a speed run car I have a hobby wing 3652 bl 5400kv with the max 10esc .
I have droop screws and replaced with 50wt shock oil all round.
My question is how far do you turn your shock springs down?
Also it’s a 60amp esc can I run 3s also ? I want to break 💯 mph what tips do you have?
Would it be better to keep this set up and go mod 1 on 2s if so could you give me the setup and gear ratios etc everything I need to make this car go fast?
I have issues keeping it in straight line and hoe do you straighten the front wheels out ?

Very impressive indeed!!!! how much room are you looking at in that parking lot? I have a lot that is about 1,000 feet? I ran at 74.4 on a 3S with a 5200 kv motor however only ran it on a 400 foot road and had to pull out....
space is an issue and I struggle with it even here, 100mph is 146 feet per second, 74.4 is 109 feet per second so 400ft lot is gone in the blink of an eye. Hope that helps. I will try and 'pin' it on google and see if I can get the total distance

That camera angle makes it looks slow. Its wayy to wide of a shot.
my wltoys 124019 has one wonky wheel and adjusting the trim doesn't help because it changes both wheels so then they're both wonky, any tips on how to adjust it?
adjust the steering tie rods, lengthen or shortening them will sort out the direction of them, you will see a little hole in them, I put an allen key through them to adjust them. Doing this will help get rid of the wonkiness!

He's running brushless you have the stock brushed motor. Need to swap esc and motor to brushless

@@danieldafflitto9310 I noticed he didn't mention ( unless I missed it ) the exact make and model number of his motor. I get he said 3.5 turn,with the timing all the way up,but perhaps his is a lot better motor. If you've running the same set up,gearing and esc then what else can it be. Or is yours a different esc ? Then again it could be batteries, he could be using a lot better battery or yours could be faulty or maybe he's a much better charger or yours isn't doing the job etc.
If it's the same car with no mods and stock gearing then it must be down to motor, esc or batteries/charger,I can't see what else it can be.

I am hoping one of the racers out there can explain it in more detail as it's quite new to me, it gives you more revs, but decreases torque and increases the motors heat. ANy racer out there help out with a techincal explanation?
I was wondering the same because I know what it is on a gas engine but wasn't sure on how it worked with electric motors
