She did NOT hate her mother. I have friends her are very close personal friends of Lucie's and they can tell that. There was friction at times, especially in her teen years, which is not unusual between parents and children, but no hate.

We have talked extensively about this stuff. I will repeat: There was sometimes friction with her mother, especially during her teenage years. Their relationship was far from perfect, which is not uncommon in mother-daughter relationships, but Lucie does not, and did not, hate her mother. She knows her mother loved her and is sensitive to the manner in which her mother showed her her love, although she would like for their relationship to have been closer.
