Hi Pete, well it was lovely weather for ducks, so no wonder Daffy was enjoying it as much as you were ! I promise, I will make a video in the rain one day. I will, honest 😂 Back when I HAD to ride in all weathers, I always enjoyed the challenge of riding in the rain. I do miss it and there is no reason why I couldn't do it on Norman. He's allowed to get a bit mucky from time to time. I'm sure I'll get around to riding in the rain again someday Pete and when it happens, I will certainly film some of it for you 👍🏻 You are right. Bikes can be enjoyed in all weathers. You just need to be dressed adequately. If you can stay warm and dry then there is still plenty of fun to be had in the wet ! Quite right ! Hahaha... def weather for [Daffy] Ducks :-D The comments were more aimed at UK riders... our weather means we need to get out in the wet if we want to ride at all LOL :-D It would seem the wind is your bad weather that you have to accept in your part of the world! :-D
@@HippoDrones Hi Pete. Definitely. For a UK biker to be allergic to rain is a big drawback. I still miss riding in the wet though ! The weather is looking pretty crap for Sunday's RE One Ride, so that could turn out to be the first video featuring me riding on wet roads 😱 Yeah. In the past two years we have had constant wind with very strong gusts at times. Not nice and very noisy for riding. I definitely prefer the dry but you need to ride in the wet if you're in the UK. More than half of my rides include rain at some point. 5:25 - looks like someone is more prepared for the rain that you 😀

Eat, sleep, drink and bikes. What more does one need. I'm the same way about the weather, If it rains when I'm out then so be it. Now if it is cold AND rainy out, nah you can have that. I am not a cold weather kind of dude. My body is tuned for the heat♨

Waterproof trousers on the way ! I keep arriving at work looking like I have peed myself in this weather . 😂. I must get a ride on one of those new Suzukis to plan my next upgrade.

Yesterday we were coming back from the nl250. Got to Scunthorpe, and there was thunder, lightning, rain and hail stones. We got soaked through , and it definitely wasn't fun 😂
@HippoDrones yep, the Northumberland 250 was great, though. I'd recommend it, we stayed roughly in the middle and did it over two days, not enough time to see much, but the riding is great. Beautiful scenery, lovely little villages, and towns.
Yeah I do have to admit, I avoid riding in the rain as much as possible, not really my idea of fun. I would however do it more often if I could at least film in the rain, my camera just shits itself with a drop of water on that usb port 😭
@@MVDBR I use Blu-Tac to seal my GoPro, has worked pretty well even on our soggy trails in winter. Most of your riding becomes pretty gnarly when wet though I imagine as all on mud/dirt/sand hill climbs etc, less of an issue on tarmac... although the rain does ruin the cameras view if not kept clear 🙂👍

Hahaha... it amazes me how many seem allergic to getting wet on their bikes! 😀 Hope it isn't too soggy for you mate... one thing going out in it for fun, different doing so for a job. Yeah man, it was a really fun eve... I def had my dad dancing moves going on! 😀 Hahahaa
@@HippoDrones I was soaked to the bone! Everything was wet in the end. It was a wild afternoon and my students all went home soaking wet. I had a student in for a private lesson after my course, I was surprised when she showed up. But she said "I'm English! A little rain doesn't scare me off!" 🤣 It did get a bit too wild though so we called if off as the cones we ride around were floating down the car park! I got home to a lake out the back of my house. A bit of flash flooding around town so not ideal for riding! 🤣

As you'll know from my videos (especially last year's tour of France!), I do ride in all weathers. However, I do not like getting wet, cold, or shrivelled 😱 - although I always carry a swiss army knife with magnifying glass and tweezers just in case I need a wee... I can't keep up with your hairstyles, buddy. One video you're half shaved head, the next you have a mane like a lion! Riding in the wet is good training for evaluating grip etc. Good storm chasing. Is that the Littlehampton harbour?

We're probably a bit spoiled here in Oz, riding in the rain really irks me, the further I am away from weather perfection the more browned off I am! And I really hate cleaning the bike. Does this make me a fair weather motorcyclist? 😊

I’ve been caught in a few storms and really don’t mind it. What I do mind is the fact that most of our storms are accompanied by hail.
