I’ve watched your journey throughout, and for me I can’t look past your Boulder/Wilson setup, that has been the greatest sound I’ve heard through RUclips.
Beautiful sound… non fatiguing…detailed… could listen to this for hours with a smile on my face. I am learning quiet a bit watching and listening to your videos…thank you.
I should have stayed that day and plug that thing… phenomenal. Even on my 1200 Iphone 12Pro Max tiny 2 inches speaker the music is to die for. Kuddos Jay
Whoahhhh! I can hear into the cymbals, and I can distinctly hear the brushes scrubbing and making a certain textural sound against the snare drum. It’s smooth, very well focused, and very relaxing to listen to. It’s terrific. The timing, decay, and the speed of the attack is aces. Wow. It’s very musical. I used to think how can anything surpass the Gryphon Essence Class A amp and the Magico M6’s…. While that was wonderful in an analytical way, this is much superior in the way of musicality and just overall flow. It sounds so right. Great job Jay. Man, every time you spring something on us, it redefines what you’re previous standard held. You’re the ONLY one who takes it to these heights. Thanks again for all your time and effort. 👍
What a natural, sweet, and vivid presentation! I'm lovin' the sound............play on,..........play on,........play on............................................
Karen Souza, I'm shocked Jay. VAC Tube Preamp, and now a traditional Jazz cover arrangement with smooth female vocals. You've been hanging around Mike too much Jay. You see what happens to old 70's rock and roll guys like Mike and I, after 40 + years of audiophile madness. This is where great sounding gear leads us to. Be careful Jay. Thanks always.
Preamp sounds like it simply needs a few hours on it. Looking forward to hearing it paired with the VAC amps. I’m a tube guy and that setup would be a forever system for me, although I’d replace the stock tubes with NOS. Really looking forward to your impressions!
I don't know what it is about Class A power, whether it be tube or transistor... You get this density and holographic feeling that A/B doesn't seem to give me. I can't put my finger on why but it's I've noticed having gone back and forth between A and A/B.
Very smooth and clear a lot of presence and openness. Bass is a bit soft, but I can feel the weight of it. Not sure if the softness is just how it was recorded or not. Will be intresting to hear on something a bit faster paced and different instruments. Very well suited to this type of music.
Jay, this sounds very promising! When will you have your impressions of the VAC Statement Pre formed? I am considering a purchase of this pre. What can you say at this point about the sound of the Statement ?
Sounds really good, Jay. I prefer the VAC pre driving these solid state class A amps to the VAC pre driving the VAC amps but that’s just me. I think I actually prefer the VAC pre to the undisclosed class A preamp.
Finally! Acoustic little processed content. Are you inspired by the tube pre? PLEASE continue to play this type of content. Maybe even some Classical?! Anyway, it sounds really good. Bass sounds good but a bit bloated. Listening to it over and over.I still hear the slight edge of SS and digital. Surely, MP4 is problematic. But bet the Vac 450qi amp will help a lot.
Not a fan they use an ALPS potentiometer...It is going to wear out oneday. Try an Audionet Stern if you want endgame. If you like tubes Lampizator has a better preamp out than this in their Pacific DAC's that isn't as muddy.
First i didnt like the presentation with the Soulution is was?But this is something better, tubes all the way and thats a good thing, long time tube user.
@@jaysaudiolab Dont get me wrong,i love Soulution,i was one of the first who heard a Soulution/Magico system here in The Netherlands at Chatteling Audio,no one understand it at first because it was a new sound, but i loved it at first time. But i was not a fan of mixing Soulution with other brands, thats my point.
I think you have a lot of work for matching this system , i'm not impressed yet . If you want keep this preamp ( but you not ) , you need change tube with Siemens or Telefunken ( i was a tubes guy ) . After you make a good matching , please play Anette with Liberty or Dido . We need same music for compare . How is Qcore ?!
Tubes need time to break in before they sound their best and just because Siemens and Telefunken have sounded good in your set up doesn't mean they will sound good in this one..
@@perfectsoundpursuit007 you obviously DON'T know when you make such a statement about system matching! Which part of "Tubes are not run in yet" and "Tubes matching is highly system dependent" didn't you get?

A bit stiff...still lack the emotion i am looking for...if i were a record producer, i would be reluctant to sign her ..no "it" feeling...the way she sang..her voice dont show the melody of teasing ..great job !!
Dull? Boring? I guess there are a variety of opinions on what is great sound. I’ve tried several solid states amps and pre amps over the years and couldn’t get the sound I really wanted. Now it’s nothing but top tier Conrad Johnson amps and pre amps for me. Love their beautiful presentation and absolutely not boring.
Please like the video and leave me your initial impressions below
QKORE? Please give your impressions of it.
There is a right synergy tube with tube ,the sound will be even much better after the break in. Congratulations
The VAC Preamp is the one I like most in your channel till now, it is not warm or sweet, just simply has 'soul' in every note.
I’ve watched your journey throughout, and for me I can’t look past your Boulder/Wilson setup, that has been the greatest sound I’ve heard through RUclips.
Wow - I completely understand the allure of tubes. I spent the time deciding why I love her voice so much and less analyzing the sound... Beautiful.

Musical, smooth, airy without compromising on detail. Jackpot!

Very good sound, lots of air and space.
Very good synergy! I can hardly wait to hear the VAC preamp with their power amps!
What a beautifully smooth and detailed presentation!
This could surpass all your previous videos

Sounds real nice Jay chrisp and clear.
I love to hear these tubed preamps but could never actually own one since my system is on 24/7.
I remembered on one video Jay said he will compare VAC master with Ref 6Se,but not update of the progress. When it will happen?

When are you gonna reveal the amplifiers? My guess is that they're matching VACs.
Jay my initial impressions.. 🤤Incredible! i hear that tube magic. Tube line stage with a Literal Shit ton of Class A power FTW.
Fantastic!!! Are you going to be at the Capital Audiofest in DC this up coming weekend??
Yes
I gotta admit, that's pretty bad ass!

@Jay It's a win from just the first beat :):):)
Jay the sound is soft a little may be they re not break in, I have ch precision same character…I think

Do you have a Opus G6 speaker cable?

Stop! Don't charge anything, and just enjoy the music. Best your system has sounded. Tube preamp is definitely the way to go.
