the insteresting side about the information you display is that finally the smallest things of daily life can tell a lot more about someone or a situation than the chocking stuff. And here, we can understand the pressure Kurt was living with everyday of his life since he became a rock star. Thank you for that insight

It was a semi cheezy long film, that was definitely about Kurt, but the lead characters name was Blake instead, and their were other little inaccuracies that made it a not so good film to me. Not terrible, a fairly accurate perspective but not all the events taking place seemed believable.

@@richardcullins7869 you're thinking of a different film. About A Son wasn't the one you're thinking of. It was mainly Kurt narrating the film. The one you are referencing is one where that actor is playing a loosely based version of Kurt.

Definitely the best Kurt related documentary I’ve seen. It was literally in his own words as the narrative is taken from different interviews with Michael Azerrad. The images and flow is poetic. There’s a similar type documentary, to some degree, with Heaven Adores You about Elliott Smith.

The one thing that struck me about Kurt was his way of finding obscure things like records, books, songs, artists, and ideas, and then bringing it to the attention of the average person. For instance, bringing the Meat Puppets on MTV’s unplugged. No average Nirvana fan had ever even heard of them let alone knew they were touring with Nirvana. The book Perfume that inspired Scentless Apprentice was out of left field. Heck, even his taste in music from the Vaselines to Wipers to Dinosaur Jr. I think Kurt knew what ideas to pull from. He was very much well read and extremely interesting in that sense.

The idea that Kurt didn't want success is bullshit. Nobody made him front the band, no one made him sign with Geffen, no one made him go on SNL, play Reading Festival, the MTV Music awards, Unplugged in NY etc etc. He could've not done any of that had he not wanted to. That's an interesting question to hear an answer on from this man.
I've heard 3 people in his family say they feel he didnt kill himself. His grandfather (Leland Cobain) said it wasnt suicide in his opinion; His Aunt Mary(in later years, althow at 1st was totally the opposite) has come forward saying she thinks there may be something else that happened other than the speculative suicide that other family has agreed upon; Also, the Uncle that had the Surf/Beach Band back in the day(I'm sorry that I forgot the name, but I have it if I look--if you're interested),has said that something "fishy" was going on, & he personally didnt attribute Kurt's death to a self-infliction.
That's just thru following the case and reading/watching every last thing thru the years. Sorry' but I don't have sources to cite... these are just things I've heard (all in video/audio interviews-some harder than others to find). I'm sure u can find them all , however, if u dig.
I bet more than those 3 think it, for sure!! I just think only these 3 or so have had the gumption to come forth with an admittance of their feelings on it.

@@actuallyNo... Thanks for that information Leslie. I'm just confused for his family. I want to know if the evidence Tom Grant has is legitimate or if everything he says is drivin by his own personal financial gain. The way the gun was handled. The way they tore down the guest house he was found in. The entire timeline hours before the actual death. If Dave and Krist have no desire to get the right answers then maybe I am just foolish to think Courtney had Kurt killed out of fear he was leaving her and she would get nothing. Maybe I'm just foolish for thinking this was a possibility.

But whatever the reason, I'm just grateful to hear, see and follow him, the band and the music during the time they were here. All we have now are the memorialized video, audio and photos but they won't ever mean more than the memories in my mind from the time in my life.

I've never said what I'm about to say outloud to anyone before...with exception of my husband. I've never written it, told ANYONE, n or admitted anything of the like. This is just me kind of venting, yet also saying how much I agree with this hugely correct message here...
I have everything I could ever want. I hear people saying all the time they "wish" this, and "want" that...and "How could any one with money 'fame' or power EVER be miserable or unhappy??!". I can't stand those comments but I always stay quiet.
Money & connections do make many specific things in ones life easier(in a lot of cases, depending), but neither makes you happy. Fame doesnt make you happy either if you have that to go along with the riches. For a lot of people with "money"...all the things we buy, are mostly just material JUNK to fill a void... & the more money you have, the INCREASED & INCREDIBLE amount of problems that follow are so far from a happy , smiling , & blissful life, that you wouldnt even BELIEVE it.
Don't look at people with money and think there spoiled if they look unhappy or say they unhappy. They're just like you and everyone else, in that aspect--The human condition misses no one, & cash can't change the makeup of a person's chemistry or situation in life...only possibly a temporary circumstance.

"Disdain for their wealth is a trick used by the rich to keep the poor in poverty"
      - Michael Corleone
Money absolutely buys peace of mind, not happiness. If you're miserable with $5 to your name you'll be miserable with $50 Million, the only difference is that you'll try to mask it with a lot of BS material goods. As you allude to, it won't work or help for long. Money can't buy happiness.
What money *will* buy is health. You can buy safety. You can buy freedom. It'll keep you fed and clothed and clean. Money can buy you company but it often naturally attracts it anyway. Money will buy you respect. Money will buy you power. Money will buy you the *privilege* of never worrying about the basic welfare of your kids. It'll buy you the *priviledge* of never worrying about an electricity bill or heat bill or water bill or any other utility taken for granted by those with money. Etc.
The BS act of people with money pretending that it's some kind of burden is borderline-evil. Yes, evil.
However, you are correct when you claim or allude that money cannot buy happiness. It merely buys just about everything else. Go without it and tell me which you prefer.

When I was younger, I admired Kurt and really looked up to him. I became a Nirvana fan when I was 22-23 years old. Honestly, I can say with very little doubt, if it weren’t for Nirvana I would have never of became a musician.
Fast forward 10 years, I still very much do like Nirvana, but there’s things I do not like about their music, like pro-suicidal lyrics, drug use, dressing in drag, that sort of thing. Kurt’s journey in this world ended when he was 27 and he had a lot of room to harden up and mature as a person, but he was way, way off the mark on some things and I think deep down he knew that, but in all fairness I don’t think Kurt wanted to be a role model in any way shape or form. He didn’t want to tell people how to live their lives, he wanted to make music.
All in all, I say his music has aged extraordinary well and Nirvana is still by far my favorite band, but let me remind you and all the others who are older now, like me, remember, Kurt died when he was 27. I’m about a decade older than him and when I watch his music it’s almost liked seeing a younger brother now instead of a crazy uncle. He didn’t have that time you or I had to grow up.

That's true for everyone and the hardest thing for fans to get through their head.
Fame innately creates a lore, a legend. Their fame causes them to lose a bit of their humanity by way of their fame, for their fame. No day is mundane. No action is mundane. Etc.
I grew up a Nirvana fan, I can fully recall when he died. I was young and stupid and 27yo felt like a really old person, lol. I was guilty of all the same BS that creates a lore and strips away humanity from people. All my friends were.
"Dude, did you know that Kirt ACTUALLY lived under a bridge?! Yeah! He lived it, man."
"Dude, I guess Kurt fn hates Eddie Vedder and they think they're sellouts and they almost fought after a show once..."
"Dude, I heard he wrote this song while on his way to the hospital after an overdose!"
Etc. It's usually 99.99% BS and it imbues mundane, HUMAN behaviors and moments of life into these purposeful things that are just fake.
To those that knew him he was that dude named Kurt that they liked. Eventually Kurt made music that a lot of people liked. Then Kurt died. That's it as far as "lore" and "legend". Kurt was just a friend or kid they knew EXACTLY like any of our own.
Imagine growing up with a best friend named Brian. Brian is a goofy kid that likes comic books and wet the bed until he was 14yo. Brian also had a nightlight as a kid and liked to pretend his bike was a motorcycle. All the normal kid shit.
Then Brian grows up to make music and take the stage persona of MC Badass, the most violent gangster rapper in The World, lmao.
Fans would have legend and lore of MC Badass.
"Dude, I heard he beat up 3 cops and then smoked a joint while sitting on their knocked-out bodies!"
All that BS. Yet, to you he's Brian, the kid that wet the bed until he was 14yo and likes comics.
This is the truth of all celebrities. They're just people. They're people that a lot of people know about for some reason. It doesn't make them mythic. It adds zero lore or legend. It doesn't raise them above the rest of us. They're just known of by a lot of people. That's it.

Imagine being the guy or girl that sat next to Kurt in class or school activities... I bet they're opinions would not be the same as fans, they probably didn't think of him as Jesus Christ.

  • @chuckhill5826

Wow! I never would have thought that his friends thought of him as a friend instead of a rockstar... hahaha. You must be gearing this towards youngsters who don't get that fame is a joke and no one in their right mind would want to have that kind of attention, especially these days...

I assume Kurt could be an asshoe . Jim Morrison could be a major asshoe and brilliant poet all at the same type .

I like a lot of your videos, but nothing you’re saying is a shock or not well known. Die hard Cobain and Nirvana fans already know this.

I see it the opposite... I see today's idiots in "music" as not "perfect". They suck in looks, music and creativity (or lack thereof) and I see the old, classic music (from 40s to the 90s) as "perfect" in looks, music and creativity.
Music is so bad today. There's no more passion, heart, creativity, talent, uniqueness. Also, all the blues influence is gone, which made rock n roll to begin with. Nirvana (and Kurt Cobain) were the last great artists. Artists are different than celebrities and pop stars. I wouldn't even call any of today's "music" pop. It lacks a hook and all other things I named. Every genre of music back then had some sort of blues element in it (even pop). That's something that's gone now and that's what made music what it was in the USA. (blues, folk, jazz influence made rock n roll).

People think some artists are holy and often confuse them with their priest, parents or friends. Just because someone is intelligent and creative enough to blow your mind doesnt mean they owe you anything behavioral. Should just enjoy their work and leave their "mistakes" the hell alone after that. Makes me sick how fans have come to have all these moralistic expectations, he entertained you now you think he owes you something? Such entitled self-righteous assholes people have become.

Hi Daniel, i was going to send a mail to you, but i can't find a genuine online profile of yours. Do you have a > business website, a LinkedIn contact or an agent or other office < i could send you a mail to? We had brief chat interaction on one of the music fan group timelines (Nirvana in this case) i'm ryan june-kent. In case you can respond, please do not send anything to fb . I know a comment-box is about the last gate that we should use. I have an account on LinkedIn, another one on twitter
