That’s so exciting!! Congratulations!! I love hearing birds and little details I’ve missed and just understanding. More in general. If you feel more emotional, that’s normal with an improvement in hearing. Sound can really enhance life. Enjoy!!
Thank you so much! You have made this transition to hearing aids so positive and easy to go through. I'm so happy and confident you are on you tube. @@DefiniteHearing
Even after 25 + years of hearing aid wearing I am still amazed when I learn something new! I have to say Emily your making hearing aid wearing so much fun! Even though we do things differently here in the UK to America! We get loaned our aids & free batteries,I find it interesting how things are done over there! You have so many subscribers! And hardly any thumbs down! You take the time to explain everything in your video's! So please keep making them as there are new people every week who have to wear hearing aids for the first time! It's very scary! There are more CI wearers! If you had asked me a couple of years back what coloured mold I would like it would have been clear silicone ones so people might not see my hearing aids! But now I don't care! I need to hear & hopefully others that need hearing aids will wear theirs with pride! Stay safe everyone 🤗🤗
Yes, it is fascinating at how many new things we continue to learn!! It makes me so happy to hear that you're becoming more confident in wearing your hearing aids! Hooray for hearing!!
You are so out going in your videos. I use Lloyd Hearing Aids in Rockford,Illinois. They have a web site so you can find the info, and their rates are very reasonable for hearing aid ear molds. I ordered crystal clear molds, full shell type and they are excellent.
Hi thank, you for your video it was good to hear you saying something about high spits and the pain.. I've been wearing hearing aids from the age of 7.. I recently got 2 new aids on our government programs.. my ears are paining due to these moulds and the Audiologist in training tells me it's not the new moulds.. I could it bee that I'm allergic to this materials used these silicone moulds? Ant on top of all this the tube comes loose inside the mould and the tube gets so brittle and shrinks to a smaller size.. I actually change the tube every 22 days.. thank you so much Marc from South Africa
I recommend going to a different audiologist. The mounds can have fitting problems that are very painful. You could be allergic to silicone. Hard resin mounds might be better for you. Tube brittleness and shrinking is normal. However, mine last months. You change yours frequently. I wonder if weather is a factor. Glue can help stop the tube from sliding out. I hope that helps. Keep working to get comfortable with your mounds and hearing aids. It is hard but worth it.
Hello, I'm new to Hearing Aids and my custom ear molds make my ears sore and I'm unable to touch my ears. My audiologist has requested new ear molds to be made. I'm hoping the new ear molds fit. Thank you for this information.
Yes, custom ear mold should not hurt. Send them back again and again (it is no additional cost to you, they need to get it right) until they’re comfortable. I’m sorry you have to wait. It’ll be worth it though.
@DefiniteHearing I went to my audiologist today, and she gave me domes to wear in the meantime. I Actually like the way they feel. She took another impression of both ears. So hopefully they will fit better when they arrive. Thank you again.
@@DefiniteHearing yaas! Totally! Ya im getting different molds instead but put closed domes for the mean time until the new ones come in.. definitely feels a lot better for the mean time and hopefully the new ones will be good i hope. I also remember the first time that I got hearing aids, I had the same issue with the molds being too big 🤦♀️.. maybe its just my ears hate hearing aids
@Definite Hearing I just got clear mold. I only have 1 hearing aid (phonak audeo Paradise p70 rt) I do like the mold however my original mold broke month ago so I had to make new one. However the earmold is a skeleton earmold The new earmold the piece that goes into the ear canal is perfect however the sides of the earmold moves and side of it lays on top of the ear walls (what I call it as I don't know what it is called) So I am going back to my audiologist for a remake Hopefully she can do another ear impression so if it breaks she can just remake it
Haha yes! I realize this video won't apply to everyone. However, since I am in the process of getting new molds, I'm taking advantage of this time and making tons of videos to answer as many questions as possible! Please bear with me and let me know what videos you want to see as a CI wearer! :)
Starkey molds are bad. Last week a Starkey mold was sent to the lab I work in and I had to redo it myself, the one starkey provided was appalling. They are no competition for us 👏
I'm being fitted for new hearing aids next Tuesday Oct 31 2023. I'm so excited! It's going to be so cool to be able to hear really well again.

Thank you for your videos. They are a huge help. 🔥
I’m so glad they’ve helped!!
In England if you get your moulds from the National Health Service, or as in America Blue Cross. We can't choose different colours. Love your videos
I'm so glad you can get free hearing aids there! That is not the case in the US.

Another good tips video. Thank you.
You are welcome!! November is so close!
I just got phonak slimtip molds yesterday,.. they work great,.. but my right ones too big and they’re so hard to get on
Send it back in for a fix. They’re too expensive not to be perfect.

@@DefiniteHearing Which molds do you think are best for the phonak RIC’s?
Phonak made my custom ear mold as I have phonak audeo Paradise p70 rt

Me watching this: 👁👄👁 I don’t have earmolds on my Cochlear Implants. I stopped using them in March I think 😂
I’m getting my first one November. How was the adjustments period? Any tips or suggestions?
