Traveled To Hickory, NC: One of The Most Beautiful Corners in America

Today I traveled to Hickory in North Carolina and wanted to show you perhaps one of the most beautiful places in the entered United States.
This is the view of Lake Hickory from Moore's Ferry neighborhood.
Lake Hickory was created on the Catawba River in 1927 with the completion of the Oxford Dam 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Hickory. The dam parallels the NC Highway 16 bridge over the Catawba River between Interstate 40 and Taylorsville. It is 122 feet (37 m) high, with an overall length of 1,200 feet (370 m). The spillway section of the dam is 550 feet (170 m) long.
Lake Hickory was named after the City of Hickory and runs along its northern edge.

No it's not only for folks that lives in Moores Ferry. HOA is strick about trespassing there!

It's a beautiful area but I couldn't afford to live there-

It is a nice lake but you can;t step out of your boat anywherem it's not owned, crowded. And looks are decieving I wouldn't get the water on me. I had someone close and he told me tales of how nasty it is, sewage , run-off fertilizer run off from the highway and coming from the lakes above it also.
