I think a lot of fans jumped the gun on this including pixel Dan. Glad that there are some voices of reason out there. I don't think the cartoon aesthetic will be slapped into the movie though
This is bad idea tbh. Just hire someone creative and make Eternia. There is loads of lore. It needs to be set completely on Eternia. Just go space and magic and technology. No wants to see Earth in He-man.
When he comes back Adam can give black pepper to Orko! Anyone get that reference?
I'm okay with it. Queen Marlena's from Earth, and Gwildor's got that Cosmic Key.

i'm down w pop culture references in a motu movie. if any y'all seen bumblebee (also directed by travis knight and the BEST tf, don't @ me 😂)
that movie took place in the late 1980's for no other purpose than to perfectly channel the vibe of g1 transformers and have an excuse for PLENTY of pop culture references. remember ? you see an old atari pong machine being played w in the background, there's some characters watching alf on tv. later in the movie, someone else is watching the breakfast club on tv and try to imitate one of the characters.
i think that if they kept the pop culture references to a minimum (like, ONLY adam is allowed to do them because he's been on earth) and they didn't make ALL of adam's dialogue pop culture references ('cos, c'mon...adam's kinda a dork but he's not supposed to be like a NERD, not like us 😂)
then i think the pop culture stuff could bring a lot of color and character to the movie.
they've done stuff like this before in other motu media. anybody remember that scene in the motu/thundercats crossover where adam and marleena are chatting on the balcony and marleena brings up mtv spring break of ALL things !😂 and adam's just there like she's speaking another language? lol
So prince Adam can be a stock broker when all of a sudden a portal opens and whisks him away to eternia where he meets Marlena and they have S , and the child is deformed, thr name the baby manatarms

The synopsis doesn't fill me with hope. The way modern Hollywood makes movies there will be no mention of green tigers. Cringer will be a stray cat that 10 yr old Adam adopts and either comes to eternia when Adam goes back, is left on earth as a cheap pull of the heartstrings "will Adam stay on eternia after beating skeletor or will he return to the life he built for himself on earth?", or will end up as a cheap death to spurn Adam on to save the day.
Orko will probably be a comedy relief human best friend who is an amateur magician just nicknamed orko.
The movie is probably going to spend an uncomfortable amount of time on earth and we probably still aren't going to get a satisfactory on screen representation of He-Man. People are quick to assume it would cost too much to set the movie on Eternia but in reality they wouldn't have to build much. Just models for the establishing shots like in the filmation series and whatever is needed for the scenes the actors are in. The rest of the movie can take place in the evergreen forest, the desert, or the mystic mountains and fans would be fine.
In the CGI show Adam wasn't from the tiger tribe he ended up there after memory loss from what happened when keldor took him to castle grayskull. It is also the only continuity where Adam has the power sword before his is 15. The power sword being on earth in the live action film means Adam either has it at age 10 and it's sent to earth with him but he loses it in the crash, or they are changing the mythos again and the sword was always on earth maybe even grayskull too.
I'm already disappointed....uhh!!
I´m not okay with Adam coming at 30 yo to Eternia and making Earth (US Pop culture) jokes all throughout the movie. I smell disaster. Just keep him off Earth, or make a vague reference every now and then.
Please no earth in this movie.

Heman 20 years on Earth...Why? Don't they have more than enough material to make a gazillion interesting stories in Eternia alone? Horrible idea, I have zero interest in this plot.
