    this video is the reason, why i love the iwc perpetual calendar.
    though great video as always and the watch is gorgeous even if the calendar is a bit more difficult to set

      +xXloeffelsk8Xx Me too. I own a JLC with that very mechanism: easy. I spent less time correcting my JLC last time it ran down than I did setting this Nautilus to 6am. But I also agree that this Nautilus 5726 is gorgeous; beauty means never having to say "sorry" to the befuddled owner!

    These comments about the lack of hacking always forget that this watch allows the changing of time zones very easily with out the need to stop the watch, a great convenience . So it’s a design trade off not a design error.

    Fantastic video yet again Tim, really impressed with the amount of information you put out with these reviews. Is it possible to do a review on the patek 5164?

    • @the1916company
      @the1916company  8 лет назад

      +Samuel Loh Hi Samuel, thank you for your kind words! I would love to do a review of the 5164, but I need to get my hands on one. A member of our office owns the watch, so I could borrow it for a video, but that watch wouldn't technically be *available*. I'll see if I can swipe it next time that watch is on his wrist.
      Best,
      Tim

      +Stephen Murphy Hi Stephen, thanks for the compliment! I have a colleague in the office with a pretty good track record of bringing in Patek references, so I'll let him know that a 5711/5712 review is a priority.

    Hello Tim,
    Thanks for the great video! A question about the tool used to change the date etc. I have this model and seem to have misplaced the tool. Would this work with a regular spring bar with a 0.8 mm diameter tip? Many thanks in advance!

    Between this and the 5205 there is no comparison for me, the 5205 is just so so sexy compared. Still love this nautilus though.

      @the1916company  8 лет назад +1

      +Will_b133 Very true. I can see where you're coming from, especially since I'm in love with the 5207, and the family resemblance of the 5205 entices me. The Nautilus 5726 is for those who prefer the sports watch imagery.

      +SuperScalemaster Welcome to our channel! You're not far off; I came in to work after a huge cardio session on the bike, and my blood sugar was crashed. Before I could grab something to eat, one of our sales associates told me I had to film a how-to video RIGHT NOW(!!!) for a client whose Patek 5726 was just sold and needed to ship with FedEx in 15 minutes. The result is the staggering routine you see in the video. I made it... just. Now I keep a drawer of emergency Lemonheads at my desk.

    Non-hacking movement? 👀

    • @the1916company
      @the1916company  8 лет назад +1

      +Rashad That's correct. This is an extremely rare feature on Patek Philippe watches. In fact, I believe that the 5235 is the first non-chromo Patek Philippe with a hacking function.

    This watch simultaneously tells the time the in New York, London, Paris,Rome, and Schtaad. It is the sportswatch of the eighties. In Philadelphia its worth fifty bucks.

    • @richardstevens8839
      @richardstevens8839 8 лет назад +1

      +Joshua Lien I had an Orient and with a bit of finesse you can swing it close.

    • @Watchwatcher23
      @Watchwatcher23 8 лет назад +1

      +Richard Stevens couldn't that possible damage the movement? It's expensive to get a PP serviced.

    • @richardstevens8839
      @richardstevens8839 8 лет назад +1

      Joshua Lien no I mean in your timing, not jiggling with the movement.

    • @the1916company
      @the1916company  8 лет назад

      +Joshua Lien True. Patek Philippe doesn't include this refinement on many models. Outside of some in-house chrono movements, I believe it's the 5235 and nothing else if you want Patek that hacks.
      Best,
      Tim

    • @the1916company
      @the1916company  8 лет назад

      +Joshua Lien I'd err on the side of caution with any Patek movement, but gently moving the minutes hand a few degrees backward won't damage the movement. The sliding cannon pinion should mechanically decouple the minute hand from the going train that drives the seconds hand and the calendar.
      Best,
      Tim

    No-hacking movement. This watch is a technological dinosaur. Mr. Stern; you need to work harder to create a modern movement so one can set the time when the second hand is stopped. Mr. Patek would not be happy with this nonsense.
