Here’s a trick for fitting bottoms- take a pair of pants you own that fit well and make cardboard rulers for your waist size and rise of pants. That way when you go in a store you can fit your rulers in the pants without trying them on! This has saved me SO MANY TIMES! From buying pants that look super cute, look like they might fit and then you get them home and discover that they are TOO SMALL!

I’ve been bringing a tape measure when I go thrifting lately to check if dresses and bottoms will fit and it’s been super helpful 😊

I just keep one in my purse at all times, it's a tiny cheap one from a dollar store so it just lives there full time and I never forget it.
the experience of thrifting is worth more than finding a bunch of stuff that you'll donate again in a few months!! when I go to the thrift store im also being very conscious of what I buy, and only buying things ill absolutely wear and love!! Especially these days when we can't go anywhere, we really don't need a lot of fancy outfits. Just comfy outfits for around the house and few nice tops for zoom calls (PJ pants or no pants on the bottom lol)

Definitely trying to be more conscious which is why I love going to the actual thrift store because I’m able to share more of the thrifting in the store portion versus just the haul ☺️☺️☺️
I really like this new sustainable approach to thrifting! I feel like as the shift in thrifty content creators has moved towards thinking more about purchases and being more minimal I’ve slowed down too. I can’t wait to see more videos! Also those cow print pants...we need the deets those are incredible.
Not sure if this is everywhere, but my thrift stores are doing returns right now since they don't have the dressing rooms open! They do need to have the original tag on them when returned tho so you can't wash them, so people might not be comfortable with that
But what's the point though? I mean if i bought something w/o trying it at the store bcoz there was no dressing rooms & had to try it without washing it at home, it's the same problem for me & for whoever may choose that same clothes after me returning it, right?
At my goodwill at least, the tags are just those colored plastic tags so you can wash them and keep those on!

Our savers here in Austin is enforcing following the arrows. Has someone great us and tell us the guidelines. And the workers wear their face shields and masks. Also so many arrows!!

the dress is so cute!!! i'm currently back home in RI (instead of LA) and the Savers here has been open for a little while now so i've been a couple times and it's been a pretty good experience both times! it's definitely tough not being able to try things on but i'm just happy to be able to go back again

Oh my gosh you have no idea how much I miss not living ANYWHERE near a Savers anymore. When I lived in the Bay Area & Oahu Savers was my all time favorite place to shop! I could tell story upon story of the ultimate FINDS I found! You go girl! Happy Shopping!!😁🤑🙌

If you take a pair of bottoms and wrap them around your neck hip to hip, it'll be a a good guesstimate of if they'll fit you at the waist. I've been doing This while Thrifting and I'm so far 4 for 6.
"we have to get out of the bottoms" the bottom section lasts for another two to three minutes

Great way of thinking!! We all need to go thrifting and shopping with this mentality! It's funny how thrifting can be so addicting, I was becoming obsessed lol, so I personally had to take a step back and truly evaluate if I really needed each item I discovered.👌🏼
THRIFTING TIP: bring a measuring tape! I have a soft one I can ball up and whip out easily at the store. If you measure your favorite clothes, you can measure clothes at the store to find ones with the same measurements! It has worked wonders for me 😁💕

highly recommend bringing a measuring tape to the thrift store with you so you can measure items to make sure they’ll fit! that’s all i’ve been doing since i don’t feel comfortable trying things on in the fitting rooms!

Hey Alexa, I'm a person with cvid, which means I get sick very easily, now the pros of it are that I've known my way around masks and sanitising for a few years. I've been wearing vog or cambridge masks for a few years, they're N95/FFP 2 approved , and will keep you safe during your thrift adventures. Might be a good idea to get! They last a long time as well! Comfy and pretty stylish. Btw. This isn't an ad, I just really love your thrift hauls and I totally live through you since I'm still locked inside 😂. Lots of love ♥️

Definitely not a fail- awesome to take time to think it over in terms of "am I actually going to wear this... do I really need this..." Sometimes leaving with one GEM is far better than a bag full of stuff that you don't need or don't end up using. Awesome stuff! And SCORE on the 1.99 price tag!

a good tip for pants to see if they’ll fit is to wrap the waist part of the pants around your neck! if they fit your neck they’ll most likely fit you

My Goodwill never even closed but I’m in Arkansas and the numbers have been very low in the area and we never had a shelter in place order, so nothing really closed. The store is huge and is never busy (like 5 people max even before covid) and it’s like 100x safer to go there than the grocery store 🙃

One thing that really helps me thrift bottoms Is bringing measuring tape with me. It’s saved me a lot of heartache during this pandemic. Amazon has some for cheap.

op shops in sydney australia are open but they raised there prices double and triple what we used to pay.. and alot of op shops went online so if its a brand name its online now

TIP: Measure the waist and hip of your fav pants (when laying flat so basically a 30 inch waist will be 15 when in half) and then bring your measuring tape with you to the shops! That way there is a much bigger chance of you buying pants that fit you ❤

I love Savers so much. The 2 other states I lived in had great Savers around where I lived, I just moved recently to a new state and there is ONE within like 40 mins of me and its really small. Now mind you, I went there about 1 month ago so I know they have limited racks to have more space but I was so disappointed. I also went to 2 Good Wills near me and they also were lacking, and NONE of them really had any furniture and I've gotten a lot of good pieces from Savers and Good Will over the years. But hopefully I'll find some gems there someday.

I've only been thrifting twice since they reopened. But I found a lacy white zara top/blouse for 5 euros looking completely new and just a couple days ago in a different city I finally found a black sheer mesh shirt (been looking for ages) and a t-shirt dress, and they were both one euro each, such a bargain!
That yellow "picknick" dress looked so cute but I know your struggle with dresses being way too short.
The local thrift stores here - goodwill - stayed open throughout the entire pandemic. I had seen people going in and out. I guess they are considered an essential business. By the time I had decided to go back into one this spring I hadn't been inside one for over a year!
