*JUST A REMINDER *: I am not encouraging anyone to leave their house if it's unsafe. I am simply sharing what my experience is while thrifting during this time, which I don't personally feel 100% comfortable with it yet and I think that's important to share because we are still in a pandemic and nothing will be going back to normal for awhile. Please if you feel safe to go thrifting, take the proper precautions to keep yourself safe and also those around you. If you have a difference of opinion that's fine, you are entitled to that, but this is simply a video sharing my experience and not to go down a rabbit hole of arguing on what's wrong and what's right. I didn't want to sugar coat my experience and wish I had known these things before I went to this location 💛
I agree, you still have to live life. Wash your hands, sanitize, be careful. But getting outside in the sunshine and fresh air is way better for the immune system then staying home 24/7. Not to mention the toll on mental health being inside. You took precautions, went thrifting and everything is fine! 😊
It seems like California is re-locking down lot of things now since the case numbers were going up again. For example my county (Alameda county) had opened restaurants just for outdoor dining a couple weeks ago (I never went out to eat though) and now they have revoked that and we are back to take-out only. This might have been your only chance to shop there before they close it again. We are back at phase 1 again and the it feels like the 4 months we spent inside were all for nothing. *cries*
If you ever come to Italy, in Rome there's a market called porta portese and it has huge amounts of clothes. Today I got 10+ amazing finds for either 50 cents or 1 euro😍 it's my fave
@@danielachamorro8783 yess girl!! Gotta be careful for pickpocketers (I never had issues personally) and always read the signs with the prices so u don't get scammed. Also even when Corona is over, bring hand sanitizer cause you gotta dig for clothes!! And prepare urself, it's about 3 km long
I guess now I know where to go next time I'm in Rome ahah I am Italian (and end up in Rome fairly often for several reasons) but didn't know about it! So yeah, thank you! ❤️
You should definitely come to The Hague, Netherlands, Alexa, and thrift at the Netherlands' largest thrift store (over 5000meters2). ALL pants, jeans etc are around $2 (€2,95) always, and all shirts around $1.00 (€1,95). Personally, I think the prices in the States are quite steep at thrift stores! When you pick up an item in your other videos of $10.99, my jaw always drops. That is really a lot for a thrifted item.....
I’ve dabbled in thrifting a bit with covid happening and I’ve noticed how it’s helped me see what I reaaaaally want instead of just grabbing random stuff and telling myself that I’ll just try it on. Loved the video!
Hi Alexa!! We appreciate all the extra effort you put in to try to make “normal” content. We will love and support you no matter what types of videos you choose to put out during this pandemic. Stay safe queen ❤️
I've been back to the bins once and it was a great experience for me. Got in line, went in and got a # sticker then went shopping. They were only allowing 1 person per bin so it was super chill. Every once in a while they would call a number over the loud speaker to let the person with that # that they need to check out and leave. Then you could get back in line and come back in. Hope this made sense. Love all your videos!
Oh my gosh, the floral top you are wearing in the sit down part of the video is gorgeous! I love it! I went into a charity shop yesterday for the first time since March and I found the most beautiful deep pink and black midi dress band new with tags! It had all the makings of a dress I knew I would love - a collar, short sleeves, a belt, pockets, a wide prom style skirt and from a designer brand! I found it straight away and this might sound a little odd but it was almost as though it was waiting for me.. it was like I was meant to find it. The thrift goods were definitely watching over me yesterday!
Aw thanks! It’s a reworked top from shop colorful nomad! 💛 IT WAS WAITING FOR YOU!!!! Whenever you find those gems it’s like how did nobody pick this up yet!! Haha glad you found that dress 💛💛💛
I’m sorry to hear that, I hope you’re doing okay and remember to take care of yourself! Have a great day for yourself, som skin care helps me through the rough days
I love the goodwill outlet. I went there right before the start of lockdown with my friends and I even found Lululemon shorts. There are a lot of good things there, even some brandy Melville. There’s always new things and my friends been there many times and finds a lot of good things
It's interesting to hear the different safety measures different goodwill outlets have implemented. I was a little taken aback by the fact they are still allowing people to crowd a bin at the one you went to. I really like what my favorite outlet has started doing. They only put out maybe a third of the bins they used to, and but it's to insure each bin is 6 feet apart, and they have arrows on the floor for customers to follow. One person per bin at a time, unless you're with someone and shopping together (which is nice because you can take your time and I find it really relaxing). You can wait for someone to finish a bin as long as you keep your distance, or you can just move to a bin that's not occupied. but you need to keep following the arrows around the warehouse. No backtracking allowed, just keep moving forward. Once you reach the end, you can start over at the beginning and go around again. If they run out of carts and you finish a round, they ask you to purchase what you have, take your cart to give to the person waiting in line to get in, and you can get in line to go again if you'd like. And everyone wears a mask.
Love the bright colorful shirt ur wearing during the haul portion I love those jeans with accent pockets. The faux leather jacket would look so cute with a slip dress
I love a good grey tee, they're so versatile. I've found that the waist around the neck trick only works to a point. My problem is my hips, so even if the waist "fits" the pants/jeans still need to get past my hips and butt.
Because I watch your channel, I find myself cropping shirts. I would never have thought about doing that, but the way you style clothes is so fun. Also, thanks for the reminder about the measuring tape! The fitting rooms are closed, and I got burned last week buying clothes that are too small.
Mom and I went thrifting today and I brought measuring tape for the first time and bought my first slip dress and thought of you! Our Goodwill Outlet closed and won't reopen until next year. Awesome finds!
I would so go with you to the goodwill outlet! I haven’t been since March and now they’re opening again but kinda iffy about it since the pandemic. I miss thrifting so much, I’m glad you still show us your great finds!
I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while now and I really love them!! They give me so much inspiration to go out and thrift cool things for my own wardrobe. I also love the way you style your hair! You should do a tutorial on here or maybe your instagram story because I would love to see your process

Itchy knitwear can be made softer by soaking it in a strong solution of cheap hair conditioner before washing on a wool or hand wash cycle.
