I have been dying to find information like this! Would love to see and learn more. All of the information I find is ok good plots and shit like that. I hunt big woods on punk and like you said deer aren’t out in the food plots till after dark anyways. I suck at plant/tree identification.
Just back into hunting after 10 years. That was all either dog hunting or just go sit in the stand I was told to.Here at this public wma I havent scouted the woods but by topo map and driving the roads. There doesnt seem to be much pressure here.In about 4 days of driving and two days hunting the most vehicles ive seen in a day is three besides me.Fri and Saturday was my first days hunting and both spots I sat I found rubs and what I think is bedding within 50 yards of spots I thought were good on the map.Heres my question.I figured it'd be best to avoid grass patches but there doesnt seem to be much pressure to me and there are a LOT of small to medium grass patches.Im not looking to kill only big bucks. When,if at all, should I sit a grass patch on public?
personally I almost never sit food plots or meadows on public land. They tend to get the most pressure. IF I felt there was a chance at deer feeding in these areas before the end of shooting light I would focus on hunting a corner and would choose the corner to hunt based on wind direction and proximity to thicker cover or edge transition just inside the forest edge near any food opening. Hope this helps.
Good advice Steve
Some great information my friend 👍
Good to see your face again.
Thank You for this video. I stuck at home right now and can't get out into the deer fields right now, But your feeding ideas are I think Spot On.
Thanks for the comment, more content coming. Please share. :)
Scouting is always the answer. Good video.

@@TraditionalOutdoors I’ll be on the look out. I live in Oklahoma and hunting hard this December for the first time. So it’s a whole new ball game.
