"NASCAR"! Your segmented racing is a real slap in the chops to this sport and the gladiators that put this sport in the spot light. Sort of makes the All Star just another event. Good luck with it...
To all the people saying “oh my god the cars are so slow” or “oh my god that was a boring race”. Keep this in mind. This weekends race was the closest margin of victory in 10+ years at Atlanta. The cars according to practice/qualifying times were barely 2 mph slower this year compared to last. If anyone thinks they can do the job better and make the sport more excitable than it is, NASCAR does have a “career opportunities “ link on their web page. By all means apply and show us how it’s done.
MrHatty051 Ok? What’s your point? The racing is the best we’ve ever seen. Or let me guess, you would like to go back to the mid 80s or 90s when there were 3 cars left on the lead lap and they played follow the leader
My point is that this package promised close, intense racing akin to the 2018 All-star and it has utterly failed at delivering. A slog of strung out, 60 lap parades with mediocre 2 car "battles" throughout. Vegas further amplified this today. So much so that Mike, Jeff, and DW struggled to make anything beyond a restart sound interesting. They know its bad, the general fanbase knows its bad, and the drivers complain that its bad. We were spoon fed expectations of IROC level competition and instead its business as usual. NASCAR failing to deliver on its promises and product. I almost feel bad for the France family. Who on earth would want to buy NASCAR in its current state?
The cars used to brake hard with 925hp package with 200mph and then 2021 550hp there was no braking 185mph now in 2022 670hp package the cars to 194mph
I don’t know. I sure miss the old days. I live 10 minutes from Darlington. Haven’t been to a race in years. Nascar to me has just lost so much. Shutting down some of the greatest tracks. Getting away from the men and women who helped them be so successful. Now there’s probably 15-20 engineers for each team and cost is out of control. I love the sport. Bobby Allison was my all time favorite. I hope someone will come in and make it work. Best of luck nascar
I completely agree with you NASCAR is a shell of how great it used to be i miss the old days too i started watching NASCAR in 1995 And my favorite drivers all-time are Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr
I was at the race today and was amazed at the number of empty seats. This was the first NASCAR race in Atlanta I have been to since the late 90's and at that time it was standing room only. NASCAR continues to make rules that slow down the cars and make the racing less interesting. NASCAR will be dead in less than 10 years if they keep it up.
Good racing but weve seen good racing here in the past, looking at the 2cd practice between the Xfinity and Cup cars , only 2mph difference? Why bother having a cup series? This is totally unacceptable to me....bring back 850 hp so we can watch the real driving.
@@jakem749 I get that but they are cup cars and are supposed to be separated by big hp and harder to drive...we already have an Xfinity series, we dont need another one.
@@abbasladak294 whining? No this package was designed for bandwagon fans like you who know nothing about Cup cars. The Cup series is the Elite series of Stock Cars for a reason, bc they are supposed to be the hardest to drive.

Watched from 1990 to 2010, I don’t understand anymore. None or most of these guys would be any good in the old cars that made it fun to watch, these things are like slot cars on a track. They need to make the cars spec racing, hard tires, shaped like real cars, and no underbody areo on short tracks.
NASCAR needs to let Earnhardt and Stewart run the sport. They were around during the NASCAR's peak in the late 90s and early 2000s, so they know what NASCAR should be. I heard Dale say on a podcast that NASCAR needs to stop the cars from being sealed, and raise the ride height. NASCAR also needs to remove splitters in turn for a valence, cut the rear quarter panels in half, make bodies out of steel again so that tapping the wall doesn't screw up tires, and of course BRING BACK 900HP!
No joke. You can literally press the bodies down with your hands or kick them with your feet and they will deform right into the tire wall, preventing them from riding properly. They can barely survive any side contact. The heavier bodies would actually allow them to remove the restriction plates or at least restrict the horsepower less as well. Heavier bodies would allow more safety features as well such as larger crumple zones and further reinforcements of the chassis and roll cage/support structures.
Exactly. I was at the race Sunday and quite honestly I did not tell a speed difference whatsoever. People are crazy if they say you can tell the difference between 180 and 195
They had to slow it down for the Fords and the segments where for the Toy ots! Also its up to Nascar and Goodyear who wins, they control it by the tires! Its entertainment not racing!!!
Las Vegas proves the Tires, "hey tell Kurt he doesn't need tires"- this came from Monster because they don't want their car last. All a big Show! Stinks for real race fans.
Crap aero and hp package, should open up the engines and lower down force, raise ride heights to where the splitter stays 2" off the track so it takes a lot of the underbody out of the equation, that's why they don't want to run nose to tail.
@@Gmullin12 that would just be a fortunate side effect, the racing where you'd see the best drivers in the world hanging it out would be the main benefit ;)
@@jeffreyroth7517 They couldn't hang onto the cars last year with them on the ground. What makes you idiots think they could drive them with even less down force? Yeah, sounds good, let's make the cars less drivable so we can watch them run single file all day.
csmall1221 the racing from 10-15 years ago (what I would consider the ‘best’ of my lifetime) was pre-COT with cars making ~300HP more than the current cars are, and with far less downforce. The “good racing” was a result of drivers being able to drive close to each other without losing all their grip from aero loss. This is something every racing series, including F1, is trying to mitigate. Raising the height of the cars would drastically reduce overall downforce, significantly increase airflow under the cars which would in turn give following cars far more air to work with, meaning they could run closer. The cars would be more “difficult” to drive, BUT they would also be able to competitively run closer to one another without losing grip. It would come down to the best driver... isnt that what we all want?
I agree, very little passing slower speeds and no excitement. I was at the race today and couldn't believe how many empty seats there were. I remember going to the Atlanta race in the 80's, and 90's and it was a full house. NASCAR is really trying hard to make racing boring.

I'm really starting to think that Motor sports is being destroyed by design. At least two of the biggest series, NASCAR and F1. First F1 comes out with 12,000 RPM vacuum sweepers and now NASCARs chops their engines in half and lose 30 mph of their Cup cars. Sacrifices for the "Green" gods? How about we leave motor sport alone? How about even if in 100 years the internal combustion engine is completely removed from commerce we let these motor sports stand as a tribute to our past? When the future humans come to the race tracks in their electric cars let them come hear the roaring monsters that helped build civilization.
