I know this wasn't the highlight of your trip BUT when your family said GRACE before your meal, it really touched my heart.❤ Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤❤❤❤
Great family trip. But for those of you that may not know, in the "John Wayne experience", the horse and dog were not John Wayne's, but were Roy Roger's. Roy lived in Apple Valley, CA and for years there was a Roy Rogers museum in Victorville, CA. After Roy and Dale died, and when the museum was closed, Trigger and Bullet were moved to Branson, Missouri in 2003. That museum didn't last long. In 2010 Trigger was sold at auction for $266,500 to a cable TV company RFD-TV
Trigger and Bullet are actually Roy Rogers horse and dog. They were on display in Apple Valley, Ca for many years until the museum closed. It’s great to know that Trigger and Bullet found a new home. Roy would be pleased. Roy and Dale were wonderfully kind and down to earth people just like y’all!
Yes! I remember seeing trigger at the Roy Rogers museum in Apple Valley back in the 90s. I was so happy to see Trigger again when I went to TX last week.
One of the best bull riding videos I saw was a young guy who got bucked off a bull and was unconscious on the ground and the bull was headed towards him and his dad jumped out of the stands and threw his body over his son. They ended up being ok but man what a supreme dad moment!!!
@@GoodSimpleLivingyes indeed! the stuff my dad did for me ❤ I remember every little instance especially when I had my own child and he showed up 😂 he made sure they didn’t take that baby back outta my room 🤦🏻♀️ lol he was so mad that I was sad even though I had just had an emergency c section
I believe Trigger was Roy Rodgers horse, Bullet his dog NOT John Wayne's! I watched the Roy Rodgers show as a kid every WK! I'm 74. Thanks for a great video! Grammy from Texas
You are creating some of the most wonderful memories for your family’s tomorrows! Did you ever in a million years, when you first met that this would be where life would take you, Melissa and Jeremy? You have created such a great life for yourselves and I love that you give back as well. THANK YOU for sharing snippets of your life with us.
Every time my sister and me travels to Florida we stop at buc-ee's she loves that place isn't it amazing to travel from North Carolina to Florida to see family and we go in there it's just it's just amazing
Be glad that you all decided to fly here instead of driving, because this is a big state. If you think that Dallas is humid, try Houston. I live in the Dallas area, it's okay.
The horse Trigger, and the dog Bullet was Roy Rogers horse and dog! John Wayne's horse in 7 of his movies was called Dollar! Trigger was in California at the Roy Rogers museum, when him and his wife passed. The museum moved to Branson Missouri, but did not do well. They had a auction and Trigger and Bullet was bought by RFD-Tv. Trigger sold for $266,000+ and stayed there until the John Wayne museum acquired them. I went to the rodeo in Houston Texas and so Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and Trigger, and buttermilk Dale Evans horse. I live in the area where buc-ee's got it's start. We do not have any of the big buc-ee's here. But we do have about 10 buc-ee's in the area! Glad y'all had a good time here in Texas, hope to see y'all come back. Y'all just seen a little piece of Texas. Y'all stay safe
I have watched many RUclips channels this week on this conference in Texas, yours by far is the best, bringing your family to experience this adventure. I feel it is so important for us all as US citizens to go and see what makes this country. Experience in some way the culture of different places. I see so many times Americans go on vacation to Europe but have only been to a handful of States. I have about 10 states I have not been too and I feel it helps me understand a lot about our regions and how they think about issues differently than I do. Eli's face watching the Bull Riders was priceless, I am sure all your children have wonderful memories of this trip they will keep with them forever.
Hey I was literally JUST watching another one of your videos 😂. Thanks for stopping by. Was so great meeting you. Thank you again and please keep up the good work.
Hi, great video, just wanted to let you know that John Wayne's main horses name was: "Dollar". "Trigger", belonged to Roy Rogers. Roy used Trigger in all his movies, but John's horse Dollar was only in about 7 of his movies. I'm really NOT trying to be a smarty pants, just wanted to let you know. ❤👍😊
Trigger and Bullet belonged to Roy Rogers. I know his museum closed in Branson, MO. Wonder why the John Wayne exhibit got them. They were I believe, worlds apart in the kind of people they were. 😢
Your family reminds me of what America used to be about. My heart smiles watching your videos. I pray more young people have the opportunity of experiences & the dedication parents such as yourselves bring to the home. Blessings ❤
Just a friendly correction on the horse and dog. Trigger and Bullet were the animals of Roy Rogers. Still a great video but missed having you here in Tyler, the Rose Capital of the World. Maybe next time. And I would go to Dallas more often if the traffic was like I saw in the video. You are right about spending the time and traveling with your family. As we missed that opportunity with our family always pitching pennies and not seeing any way to do it.
I'm pretty sure that Trigger and Bullet were with Roy Rogers, not John Wayne. Yes this is aging me to tell this bit of Trivia. I was very young , but watched Roy Rogers and Dale Evans show.
Terry Blacks, very heart warming, 🙏🙏. The gas station, Buc-ee's, what a place, big as some towns I have been through while truck driving. It looked like you all had a great time in Texas. It is still a big relief to be HOME, the animals looked happy to see you. Now unwind time, unpack all the goodies you bought, Melissas' signs and all though HATS.
Trigger was Roy Rogers’ horse, not John Wayne’s…I can’t remember its name. Dale Evan’s horse was Buttermilk. I so envy your awesome trip! I’m really enjoying this video!! The children seem to be enjoying it, too! Have a safe trip home!!
What a fabulous trip to make as a family💝👍 Smart move having water bottles with lids when you’re sitting that close to the chutes. That ‘stuff’ goes flying everywhere 😳😂
I'm pretty sure there will be (a thousand) comments about Trigger being Roy Rogers' horse, not Marion Morrison's. Probably ought to re-check the dog(s), too, since in JW's flicks, the dogs were usually darker (and more range-savvy looking, whatever that actually means). Smarmy & picky, right? I know. Apologies. Am glad the trivia overwhelms; and, by that, I mean.. you reach your limit and run! Trivia is addicting. What a special family vacation ! Everyone experienced a taste of Texas to make them smile and share great memories .I really enjoyed going along and seeing the love and joy in all your eyes. Thank you ! Hugs 🥰🥰 xx
Wow! The bull riding event really made me appreciate the guys (didn't see any gals) who help the riders by separating them from the bucking criters when they "dismount" aka fall. Did you adjust the speed of playback to make it seem faster? Most Texas entertainment has very little interest for me, but you suceeded sucking me into it!
Horse & dog are not John Waynes, Trigger & Bullet are from Roy Rogers (1950s) and used to be on display in his museum in Victorville Calif where he lived. I love Dallas, used to go there a lot. I love Joanna Gaines too even if she was born a man. They have made million$ from their shows, tourist attractions, selling home goods, etc. Brilliant marketing. A friend of mine (who's trans) says Joanna is the pied piper & she wants to be just like her! Shes so smart theres no doubt she could.
I really enjoyed you taking us along on your Texas adventure! And seeing all of you and your reactions to everything from The Silos to the Bull riders Rodeo.....LOVED IT ALL!!
What a great, entertaining video, looks like you all had a great time. That bull riding looks dangerous, fun for those watching, riders very brave. Nevaeh, I hope you could find the type of food you require. Love to you all from Mike. ❤
Oooops... sorry... but did anyone realize that Trigger and Bullet were with Roy Rogers... not John Wayne... I grew up watching Roy Rogers and Dale Evans along with Hopalong Cassady, Dene Autry, The Lone Ranger with Tonto... and many more... haha Ok, I'm old but still young in spirit... hahaha
Just happened across your channel today. Great build, great family, and I was happy to see you pray over lunch, and home school your children. Maybe there IS hope for this country. Families raised right!!
I’m so happy you guys got to take a vacation - looks like a great fun time!! I wish I could take my Grandson on just a little vacation - maybe one day??
Mahalo for taking us on this trip with your Ohana. It was an experience for me as I never been to Texas. You and your wife and your children is how Ohana should be on a daily basis. With great parents as yourself comes with discipline children. Aloha once again from Maui!🤙😎
I’ve been subscribed to your channel since you started building your accommodation in your barn. I live in the UK, but currently in Zurich. We fly out to Dallas on Monday 16th. What a coincidence that you are there now. Might bump into you,
How wonderful for you all to experience some of Texas, my lovely home stare, which I miss much. Sadly, In thirty years we have returned for two birthday celebrations and three funerals. I cherish sweet memories. Thanks for taking us along on your fun vacation, was heart warming to see my land. 🤗 Love and prayers. 🥳🤗💖😆
Awesome trip for both business and pleasure. Texas looks like a lot of fun and it sure looks as if you made the most of it. Glad you switched the tickets for the bull riding for Eli - hopefully that rider who got carried out on the stretcher will be ok. I'm off to catch up on your podcasts - Zach seems like a nice young man - glad you were able to interview him. Until next week with love from NE Pennsylvania ❤
I am so glad to see you making these memories as a family. I am almost 70 yrs old and not in the best of health (heart issues) and I think some of my biggest regrets is not traveling more and making more memories. I watched this video and it actually brought a tear to my eyes seeing what I have missed out on. It is wonderful that these trips as a family will only make memories not regrets.
Best vid ever!❤❤❤ Next bull out, I'm going to breath & remain calm. NOT. That was so much fun. Thanks for taking us along on your trip. So much better than Cali! Many prayers 🙏🏻 for you all. Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister
When the video started and you were landing in DFW I paused it and told my wife, they're here to go to Waco for the Magnoia experience, and sure enough one day in Big D and southbound you were. We live in Temple, about 40 minutes south of Waco, and have been over the "Magnolia fever" for years....but we understand...hope you enjoyed!
Happened upon a video of you building a chicken coop. I can’t stop watching! You guys are amazing! You are what families should be! It is so wonderful to watch all your videos of a family loving life and each other. You give me hope again! Keep up the great videos! Thank you!
Ya’ll always have the coolest time together. Thanks for letting us be a part of your life. I know you had someone taking care of your animals while you were away. May God continue to bless you all.
I am a resident of San Antonio, TX. To see one of my favorite YT families come to TX and have such a grand time brought joy to my heart. You truly are creating memories for yourself and your children that will be passed on to your grandchildren and their children. What a gift. TY for being the best parents possible as well as the best partners in life. Love for your God, Your relationship, and Your family is what this short journey on earth is all about. You are doing it right. TY for allowing us to journey with you. Best wishes from TX.
Awesome Awesome video and this is the meaning of Ohana, making memories that'll sit deep in your heart. Epic video guys this touched my heart tremendously keep doing what you're doing. You all have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
Trigger was Roy Rogers horse, not John Wayne's. In fact, Trigger would have been considered too small for John Wayne, who needed a much larger horse due to his tall physique.
I live about 30 mins north of Houston, Texas and I'm so happy and proud that yall had a great time while in my wonderful state ❤ I hope everyone treated yall with kindness ❤
Protect your new barn with decorative design custom wood fencing. I’m sure someone in your area is a wood worker or designer, who could design and create a custom wood fence to place directly in front of your new barn with Good Simple Living or even profiles of the horses or even the kids to protect the building from any damage and enhance the appearance.
Texas!! My home state! Born in Fort Worth! I so miss the BBQ 😢 and all the friendly people! Wish I still lived there instead of Kentucky.. Nice people here too but I feel like I went back in time sometimes..
We were very touched to see your family say grace before your meal. And it was so neat seeing you guys have such a great time and enjoying yourselves. What a cool video and a nice family. 👍❤️
Wow! Kamani's voice is so deep, he's growing up on you Melissa. Can I tell you I was eating breakfast when you all were praying over your food and got so choked up. I have no clue why that happened. Yes, I pray over everything I eat. 😢 I just don't know why it happened. Blessings...
What a wonderful experience for all of you, loved the kids clapping when home appeared!! You can tell where there heart is. Texas is a wonderful place to visit, Being from New Mexico , that culture of the cowboys is great and also here. Glad you all enjoyed your trip, you are right, time is moving very fast and sometimes it is great to just enjoy the moment with your family. God Bless, looking forward to next week.
Melissa, I'm sure by now that someone must have mentioned that Bullet and Trigger belonged to Roy Rogers, not John Wayne. Either way, thanks for the great video. I always enjoy your work and your precious family so much.
Wow! What a great trip! Amazing! Thanks for bringing us with you to the big Texas state! So glad your kids enjoyed this family travel! You are creating great memories together 👏🏻👍🏻🌈🫂
I know this wasn't the highlight of your trip BUT when your family said GRACE before your meal, it really touched my heart.❤ Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤❤❤❤

The horse Trigger is Roy Roger's horse. I am showing my age. I watched Roy Roger's all the time as a child 65+ years ago. Nice family trip.

Thank you for coming along!
Trigger so thats where he went too after they closed Roy Rogers and dale evans Museum off I 5 outside of Barsow, Ca. ❤️❤️🕊️🕊️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🐎🐎🐎🐎
thank you for letting us come along on your journey
I thought it was cute that you thought it was John Waynes' horse and dog, but they belonged to Roy Rogers. Lol. Enjoy your family!
there is a building near there, they have the kennedy memorial, it is fascinating inside, it relives that day in 1963,
The horse Trigger belonged to Roy Rogers. 😀❤️
Enjoyed watching your trip!!!
I went to Texas when my son graduated from USAF boot camp. The day we left it was 105 degrees. No idea how they do the training in that kind of heat.

Thank you! You too!
Looks like the vacation was a success. By the way the stuff horse Trigger and the dog belong to Roy Rogers (King of the Cowboys) not John Wayne.

I'm pretty sure there will be (a thousand) comments about Trigger being Roy Rogers' horse, not Marion Morrison's.
So good to see you and your family having a holiday. You just don’t know how quick the kids grow and leave the nest.
Thank you for bringing us along.💕
Travel is wonderful, but there is no place like home😊 glad you got to make new memories with the family🥰
I lived 10 minutes from the Buc-ee’s you visited . In Colorado now. Glad to see your family enjoyed what Texas has to offer!
Heard they are building on near Johnstown.
Welcome! Wish I could shake yalls hands. Living just outside of Dallas. Enjoy!
We were very touched to see your family say grace before your meal. And it was so neat seeing you guys have such a great time and enjoying yourselves. What a cool video and a nice family. 👍❤️
Thank you so much!
Wow! Kamani's voice is so deep, he's growing up on you Melissa. Can I tell you I was eating breakfast when you all were praying over your food and got so choked up. I have no clue why that happened. Yes, I pray over everything I eat. 😢 I just don't know why it happened. Blessings...
❤️
What a wonderful experience for all of you, loved the kids clapping when home appeared!! You can tell where there heart is. Texas is a wonderful place to visit, Being from New Mexico , that culture of the cowboys is great and also here. Glad you all enjoyed your trip, you are right, time is moving very fast and sometimes it is great to just enjoy the moment with your family. God Bless, looking forward to next week.
God bless 💓
THAT WAS AN AWESOME VIDEO. A little something for everybody. Great memories.
Glad you enjoyed it
Million dollars seats. Just because the excitement Big E had seeing it live. Great job Mom and Dad
Absolutely!!
Wish I had known you were in Fort Worth...just 30 min. away. Glad the family had such a great visit though!
This has been one of the best RUclips videos I’ve watched in years. Thank you for sharing some of your time with your family.
