So as of Crisis Core Jenova had begun influencing him from a distance. Poor Sephiroth. Deep down he’s a kind boy who was always forced to crush his kindness. I wonder what Glenn means when he says he can’t tell the infantrymen to evacuate? Is he perhaps already dead?
Also looks like next Chapter’s going to show us even more reasons to hate Hojo. And probably answer how Sephiroth, Angeal and Genesis become friends. You know what that means? Even more Loveless. 😂
This is likely why they've held back more on Crisis Core chapter releases.
So they are rewrighting the canon? It was stated that in original Final Fantasy 7 Jenova tried to control Sephiroth but his will was so strong that he took over and they switched places. Looks like in the remakes the story would be different.
I feel like glenn didn't tell the infantrymen, because maybe they were already defected from shinra, according to tseng in rebirth; and that's why he tells sephi to save them because he's still part of shinra.

Well, if you said that Sephiroth would be stopped by a dog coming between them in the first cutscene, I would not have called that.

It is unclear currently, imo. He is definitely ruminating at the Edge of Creation. As for when exactly this takes place- before Cloud arrives in Remake pt. 1, or if he finds himself there now, more often.
Either way, it’s super sick. Imo, that cutscene added some depth to his character, and defined it.
It’s mind-blowing that he is calmly remember these memories though; I wonder how far Sephiroth, who seems to remember himself pre-Niebelhiem events, and possibly knows his whole truth- his entire truth; “. . .Seven seconds til’ the end.::Time enough for you perhaps: But will you do with it? Let’s see-“
He should and seems to be wondering the same thing himself. So good. (Just my interpretation ❤)

You’d realised this teenager Sephiroth is truly a pure hearted soul. I really feel sorry that he was born to Lucrecia and Hojo.

So crazy- Sephy is ruminating about this thing none of us (could) have known about- at the Edge of Creation.
To me, that adds depth to him- there must be a change in him- he probably found the part of himself, scattered in the Lifestream, and knows the truth of his past…and probably his life unfolding as he way it did…
Redemption arc is unlikely, I love how they linked Ever Crisis to the current or semi-current version of himself.
I wonder what his motives are, and why.

So in Edge of Creation, the Sephiroth who has gone insane actually remembers his past?
No, I’m pretty sure the Sephiroth at the Edge of Creation is the sane Sephiroth. If you use JP dub, that Sephiroth uses Ore, hinting it is the Sephiroth who was good not the corrupted one.
This basically confirms it that the good Sephiroth still exists. I think my theory is correct that this Sephiroth and the Aerith from Remake is working together for sure. The Corrupted Sephiroth is parading everywhere manipulated by Jenova.
The part of Sephiroth who is still sane is in the Edge of creation, remember how Aerith led fine tuned the black porta which basically led Cloud and party there.
@@gemlynbotones3028In Rebirth though Sephiroth uses “Ore” a lot as well - in Japanese, the other pronoun he uses “watashi” is a more neutral, formal pronoun, and “ore” while more masculine, also tends to be used in more familiar contexts, and Sephiroth tends to use “ore” around Cloud more, so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be that he’s more of his “sane” self or if he’s just switching to more casual speech around Cloud. It’s my understanding that in Japanese society people will use different pronouns in different contexts.
To be clear - I’m not saying you’re wrong! I just also think the pronoun thing MIGHT not be as clear cut as that.
@@samoyed7895 From what I recall of what the Ultimania said, the version of Sephiroth that appears at the Edge of Creation in Remake uses the same speech and mannerisms he had before he went mad during the Nibelheim incident.
@@SuzakuXI think thats what it said too! I just also know that in Rebirth japanese dub Sephiroth uses “ore” whenever he speaks to cloud and “watashi” whenever he speaks to the entire group. Could very well be different Sephiroths.
Could be…or, it’s one primary Sephiroth who now has the whole truth about his life. Perhaps a portion of him was trapped in the belly of Remake pt. 1’s massive planet-fate-WEAPON or something.
Guess we’ll find out when the time is right. I want to believe Sephiroth we see currently is likely knowledgable about all aspects of himself- it’s just cool to show us him remembering some early, pivotal moments in his development. ❤
Sephiroth really tried to take Glenn's words to heart. He really tried to have compassion for others. And he really did try to save Rosen, desperately pleading for Glenn and the others' sake. But in the end, because of Shinra, Rosen had no reason to continue living any longer, and Sephiroth had to make a choice.
If I had a nickel for every time Sephiroth stabbed to death a person last of their people to join their ancestors, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
Imo, all of this should have been in Rebirth.

Yo I didn’t get that extra scene after the edge of the creation scene how did you get this version ? Is it something to do with how you do against the boss ? A bonus for not letting seph get to 1hp or something? Seems like a mini bonus trailer for whats to come as a reward ?

I would not be surprised if Glenn/Lucia/Matt deaths are part of the reason why Sephiroth went insane.
We just have to wait then. Cuz we definitely have Glenn in FF7 Rebirth. Don't know about Matt and Lucia though....

According to Glenn's words in Rebirth (this being a corpse, a puppet) he tells Rufus "From behind, like in the old days" Rufus was the one who killed Glenn, Probably in an alliance with Avalanche or similar.

I'll tell you what would be REALLY cool? If I could do this myself but I'm stuck at the ridiculous boss at the end of chapter 7.
I'm at 215,000. Cloud has Sanctuary and Matt has his Needle Jab and both abilities raise MDEF by 2 points for the whole party. Each character has between 7000-9500 HP with Aerith using Curaga-All keeping them full. With max MDEF (3 points) the thing still one-shots me at full health when I get it to half health. It's nonsense. It's almost like there's a time limit before it just kills you outright.

Looks like Sephiroth is getting rebooted as a shounen protagonist. I like it though.
The chronology seems a bit off now.
Rhadore happens in 1992, Genesis desertion in Crisis Core happened in 2000. But now, it's 0002(?; since the first mission in chapter 8 of TFS is called "Ten Years Later"). This is going to affect the rest of the events as well. The only reason why Zack meets Aerith is because he gets pushed by Angeal off the platform with a spell and falls into the church. Are Aerith and Zack going to meet at 18|19 now? What about Nibelheim? There was supposed to be a 5 year break between it and the main game. But I guess Nojima or whoever's writing this mess of a timeline could always claim that it's alternative universe or something.
Since at the end of the CGI we see sephiroth looking at the edge of creation, just like you mentioned what if this first soldier story are just one of the possibilities/dream/world that was explained in Rebirth?

Do we actually get an exact date for TFS Episode 1, or is it just a general "30 years ago" kind of thing? I can't recall.
@@wsinnoz well, it's possible, i guess. After all, Remake is its own world as well, if I get it right.
That being said, this multiple timelines/worlds/every world is a dream or memories/etc. concept is not really explained and there is only a bunch of theories for now, so who knows. EC with its events(which probably can hardly be called canon) certainly portrays lifestream as a multiverse of possibilities.
Oh man if only Ben Diskin could do some of the lines in the finale as a fan dub like how Ray Chase was the Master of Masters in the Kingdom Hearts Union Xross finale. This would feel so impactful

Thats Angeal’s voice at the end, assuming hes telling sephiroth not to be deceived by the enemy no matter who it is. I can’t tell who the female voice is though.

Kakoki!! My poor baby!! Ugh..Although CLEARLY in the sequel as why Sephiroth has become truly wicked is BECAUSE of his contact with Jenova.
Why everyone keeps complaining that he is truly evil incarnate is beyond me. He is being used to every degree; from Shinra, and esp. Jenova.
The true villain as I realized as a kid in playing this game in 1997 is HOJO obviously. Hojo and his team of scientist are the cause and of course Lucrecia.
Sephiroth I feel though, ironically is Shinra's karma of punishment for keeping a blind eye on Hojo and enabling their Science dept, just to fill their quota and pockets. Capitalism at its finest, lol.
There were clearly more infants injected with Jenova cells that died or deemed failures.

Interesting on how they clarify Jenova's abilities as well when I played Rebirth and how keen it is to manipulating people, disusing itself as the dead as Sephiroth has gained those abilities.
Wish there were more background story on Jenova as to its origin and I would think there are more alien organisms out there.
Important moment here and maybe an actual breakthrouhg in a way of respite, Sphiroth is actually REFLECTING here? Clearly the last scene is from Remake. I'm soo thrilled and pumped and emotional because he may actually have something left of a human heart and not all the way taken by Jenova's will and influence over him!
