Question 77--Parking downhill with NO curb. CA manual on page 29: Either uphill or downhill when no curb, turn wheels so vehicle will roll AWAY from the center of the road if the brakes fail. Your answer for downhill/no curb had 'wheels towards road' so if brakes failed, vehicle would roll into the center of the road.
#40 From the DMV handbook: "If you start to skid, follow these steps: Slowly remove your foot from the accelerator Do not use the brakes. Turn the steering wheel IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SKID. Try to get a wheel on dry pavement." (Caps added to point out the error)
Yes. I was prescribed some things & was warned that if I behind the will & were in a moving vehicle accident, even with zero blood alcohol, I could be considered at fault, or at least partially even if it was the fault of another driver. It is considered driving under the influence.

Headed uphill: Turn your front wheels away from the curb (left) and let your vehicle roll back a few inches. The wheel should gently touch the curb.(dmv p.)
READ question 6 AGAIN!!! It says "when parking uphill with NO CURB!!!!" (this is a total fake out!!!) Answer is turn front wheels heading right (NOT LEFT!).
Guessing this is intended to test the patience or piss off anyone over 70 yrs of age that might watch this. Two ads/commercials after every 3rd/4th question guaranteed to piss off anyone. WHY is this necessary???
Your answer to question 77 is wrong. If the brakes fail then the car will roll away from the roads edge into oncoming traffic. There is no test for seniors in CA !!!
#3 - If we're sharing the road with bicyclists, I'd be considering them in the category of oncoming traffic, & I'd be making myself aware of any kind of oncoming traffic, whether cyclist or motorist. I'm thinking of a corner in my town where it can be a red light & I can turn right after signaling & making sure that there are no motor vehicles (or bicycles) coming from the direction that has the green light. I would not only look for bicycles. So I'd already get the third question wrong.
Some of these rules and laws have definitely changed since I’ve been driving. Like… it used to be when parked uphill turn wheels Away from the side of the road, and when parking downhill turn wheels toward the side of the road…. Gee Whiz. For my second test I’m studying! So weird flunking my written test. 😖
Here's a question: Why in the hell does the California DMV have driver handbooks, and written tests in different languages, when the road signs are written in ENGLISH !!!!!
Foreign language versions of the driving test still ask the meaning of English language road signs. If you don't speak English, it's better to take a course and pass a test in your native language to give you the confidence of driving safely, than to try and bypass the system and drive without a license, and try to run from the police. For the same reason the DMV has recently decided to keep its mouth shut about applicants' citizenship status.
Same reason Japan lets you take their test in English vs Japanese. Cmon devil dog, I expect better from you. Unless you are a stateside Marine and never traveled anywhere.
I immediately noticed that the answer to question #77 is wrong. Many others have noticed this and stated so months ago, but that answer still hasn't been corrected.
BEWARE some of their answers are wrong. I won’t give the answer but one is When driving on a dimly lit street.. wrong answer. Looked it up. The age for a child to sit in the front seat. Again wrong. I got to 38 and stopped.
#21 Yes, solid lines can be crossed for turns. But the question states the purpose of the cross was "to pass another vehicle". You failed. License revoked.
Your question 77 is WRONG !! On a parking down hill it is saying to turn your front wheels toward the road. THIS IS WRONG. If the vehicle rolls it goes into traffic. YOU CANT afford to be wrong EVER !!!
77 is misleading and wrong. There is adjective missing before "downhill" which, according to the "Standard English Lexicon", requires the vehicle to "be downhill" and presumably on a level road. What is attempted in the question is to position the car 'facing down hill' which requires turning the wheels toward the curb, not "toward the road". So much for the English language.
Don't study for the Senior CA Test online. Study the DMV Booklet and good luck. The CA Senior DMV Driving Test is ridiculous, often terribly worded, and unfair to the point you don't know exactly what they are ASKING! It asks many questions that have nothing to do with everyday traffic laws and driving. The LA Times had an article on how unfair it was, how many complaints the DMV has gotten, and how many fail. Again studying these RUclips DMV Written Tests do you little good. The actual questions are not what you run into when you take the test. Study DMV the booklet cover to cover multiple times. Ask for a paper test too, computers tests are timed, hard to navigate, if you're not familiar with Windows 11.
criminal alien test, question 1, what state are you in? Answer is China! correct here is your license and cell phone and 1200 cash to help you find disney land.
77 is not accurate answer..thanks God I have a book to confirm it Ghostaire Thank you for confirming this !
77 is wrong.

Question #21. How is turning into a driveway passing another driver?
#40 From the DMV handbook:
"If you start to skid, follow these steps:
Slowly remove your foot from the accelerator
Do not use the brakes.
Turn the steering wheel IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SKID.
Try to get a wheel on dry pavement." (Caps added to point out the error)
#23 All answers a, b, c are correct !!!!!!!!!!!

Taking any drug that affects your ability to drive. This includes
prescriptions or over-the-counter medications (p.77) ???
Yes. I was prescribed some things & was warned that if I behind the will & were in a moving vehicle accident, even with zero blood alcohol, I could be considered at fault, or at least partially even if it was the fault of another driver. It is considered driving under the influence.

#3 is bogus oncoming traffic could mean bicycles too. Answer should be A
Headed uphill: Turn your front wheels away from the curb (left) and
let your vehicle roll back a few inches. The wheel should gently touch
the curb.(dmv p.)
READ question 6 AGAIN!!! It says "when parking uphill with NO CURB!!!!" (this is a total fake out!!!) Answer is turn front wheels heading right (NOT LEFT!).
Also parking downhills, no curb , they say the wheels should be towards the road. In the manual they say: towards the edge of the road.
40 is wrong. You should steer into the skid

I got one question about light rail vehicle, answered wrong, fail. It was something with light rail and bike.
I also got it wrong
#77 is W R O N G !!!!!!!!!

yes indeed they were wrong on that one (just like in #77

When in doubt, choose the safest answer.
Thanks that was very helpful

Take the no fail written test on the California DMV website

Number 77 is WRONG!!!!!
Fix answer to question #77.
Your question 77 is WRONG !! On a parking down hill it is saying to turn your front wheels toward the road. THIS IS WRONG. If the vehicle rolls it goes into traffic. YOU CANT afford to be wrong EVER !!!
Question 77 is wrong..
It's like HR diversity quizzes. You can always guess the answer they want without watching the required video.
77 is a guaranteed miss.

“Senior test”? The DMV (L.A. Calf.) recently assured me that there isn’t a designated senior test.
Reading to quick
In CA it’s not 18” from a curb it’s 12”.
Its 18' i just read the handbook
Before you guys start making youtube videos for people attempting to take their test, at least study the book first! 🙄
I’m😢🎉

English plain to hard to understand than easy to read English.
criminal alien test, question 1, what state are you in? Answer is China! correct here is your license and cell phone and 1200 cash to help you find disney land.
This is discrimination against older people.
No. 77 is WRONG!!!
