For the mom who wrote in saying she was 8wks pg and struggling with hormones and such. As a mom of 9, I've learned that sometimes we can start school later in the day, only do *important * subjects (math and reading for my youngers) or if I'm having a really bad day, we just don't do school at all that day. It's ok mama, you'll get through this and feel better soon! The beauty of homeschooling is that we can change it up and tailor it for our families needs. ❤
For the viewer who asked about conceiving after 40, my mother had my older brother at 42 (almost 43) and me at 46 (nearly 47!) after being told by doctors she would not be able to carry even one pregnancy. There were miscarriages and she did give up hope before I was born but then...surprise! I pray your desire for children is fulfilled!
Of all the stories I have heard of people 'Trying and trying' and not getting pregnant once they stopped 'trying' and let their body and life relax and get back to normal daily routines is when they finally got pregnant!
I started menopause VERY early....I was perimenopausal at 37! 😳 I was ok with it because I had 2 children from my 1st marriage and wasn't planning anymore. At this time my now husband, came into my life. He has a grown child in her 20's from a previous relationship. So he wasn't thinking anymore children. At 38, our b.c. method failed, and I discovered I was pregnant. Unfortunately, only 2 weeks later, I miscarried at 9 weeks. I was told by my OB, given my age, and already transitioning into menopause, my chances of another pregnancy was around a 5% chance. And higher then a 50% chance of another miscarriage. Also as I aged, those numbers would be even more less in my favor. Well God believed different lol We were not trying for a baby, and my cycles were less and less as time moved on. 2 1/2 months after turning 40, thinking I might have finally enter the final round of menopause, instead found out I was over 8 weeks pregnant 😳 Besides being very ill for 6 months of the pregnancy, everything else with the pregnancy was good. I was induced 2 days before my due date, because my blood pressure had started to be a little high, and my ob didn't want to chance it. 6 weeks after birth I finally was through menopause with a newborn baby lol He is now 11 and the greatest gift we didn't know we needed ❤

Hello Our Tribe of Many or I would say hello Sarah, good to see you again. Hey I have my daughter on my Birthday when I turn 44 that day.I was blessed with her. Lots of love and hugs ❤️💖🌺🦋🌈from Edith in cairns Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
One of my great grandmothers had her last child when she was 49. I think her last was the only one born at a hospital. She and my great grandfather had 20 children with only one set of twins. She passed away 17 years ago at the age of 103 years living in her own home while still providing in home care to two of her children that had medical challenges.
ive heard so many different instances of women who have "many" children, id say 9+ living to be over 100! there's gotta be something to it- perhaps they feel their work is never done? lol. so much for the nay sayers saying "its bad for your health" to have more than "x" amount. it really is a case by case basis.
8:56 it is important to make sure our kids know what they believe. My 8th grader is getting ready to make her sacrament of Confirmation, and I think it’s one of the most underrated and most ignored sacraments, but to me, the preparation with my daughter and all the talking about our faith has been amazing. It’s important for her to understand our religion, and choose (confirm) that she believes and wants to to this by her own choice. I remember my confirmation!! I remember thinking “why is everyone making such a big deal” because I had grown up in the church, there multiple days a week so for me, in my mind it was just like the next step. I think I was most excited about being able to receive communion 😂 I’m so grateful that I was raised with the church as my second home.
I know a sweet woman who started trying at 38. When she turned 39 her anxiety was high and her hope was low. One day while driving she saw a sign in front of a church, it read "God's timing is perfect." That realization took away her anxiety and she trusted that God knew best. Not quite a year later, her test was positive and her darling son Clarke born before she turned 41.
I am #4 of 6 siblings. My mother had her first at 19, and her last at 40. (There were never all 6 of us at home at the same time, because we were all 4 years apart.) We had three bathrooms, and still fought over them! We would come in from a long trip and call them (by color) by the time we got out of the car. I always wanted 6 children too, and was blessed with two instead...but guess what? I did get 6 grandchildren! At 62, I feel absolutely blessed beyond measure.
Thank you for sharing!! I turn 40 this week with 5 kids and 3 autoimmune diseases- I want another baby but unsure about it with my health. But time is ticking!
There's so many sttories of women who were pregnancy in their late 40's. They stopped taking birth control, thinking they couldn't get pregnant. Then, SURPRISE!
Sarah, when our kids were growing up we raised our own meat, beef, chicken, pork, rabbit , dairy goats for milk and meat, and even a trio of Emus ( we don’t recommend this type of meat). The kids got into 4H. We are now in our sixties and seventies and we haven’t done it in years. We also live in a different state away from others whom raise the things we used to. Nothing tastes good anymore except homegrown veggies. Our 34 year old son said the same thing the other day when talking about homegrown food. God bless you for being in a position to do this for your family. May God bless you abundantly in every you do.
Ive wanted a big family, like 5 children minimum, even now when i doze off to fantasy land, i still want that, but after having 3, i realise im not cut out for it 😅 im 27 now so its not off the table completely but i definitely think i need to consider my capacity to raise my current children to the best i can before considering having more. My husband is mentally done though so this might be it 😂

I'm 40, 41 the month I give birth. I lost a couple of children in my 20s and I thought I'd have a hard time trying again. But I got pregnant the first month of trying again. 3 months to go, he's healthy and squiggly. Keep trying and try not to stress if you are having trouble. I know that's difficult, but I hear it helps to relax as much as possible. Related, I think the best parents are just being a good person: communicative, encouraging, and kind. Managing fear and avoiding selfishness/hate are super important.
Oh my goodness! This brought back so many memories. There were 3 children in our family. My sister was almost two years older than me, and my brother was 3 years younger. My sister and I played ‘house’ all day long with our dolls. We did not have a tv, and we used a Sears catalog and played ‘door to door’ sales. We played with our brother and broke every stroller/buggy we had by pushing him in our doll stroller. We also dressed up our kittens and dogs as our kids.. we loved playing school too.
I whole heartedly agree about not doing things out of fear. Growing up as an introvert, I used to be too nervous to experience new things. Ever since I met my wife, who is an extrovert, I learned to loosen up more and experience a lot more in life than I would've. Still parts of me remain introverted but hey baby steps lol.
I have two adult children and that feeling/fear of not parenting correctly never left me....but when I look at the two of them and their accomplishments which took courage and confidence in themselves I think too myself "you musta did a lot right for them to have turned out so great".
I alway said I wanted 12children but only got to 6for medical reasons, but then 6 turned into12 with their partners, and now 5 grand baby’s. I love my children’s partners as my own so I got 12in the end love your family to their beautiful bless them🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
Yes!! My mom homeschooled all seven of her kids before homeschooling was cool. She always said her goal was to teach us HOW to learn not necessarily WHAT to learn. That has served me (and ny siblings) so well throughout life.
Good Morning! I love hearing how other large family mamas answer these questions! My grandma had 20 children, and my husband's grandma had 10, so I knew we would have many (we have 11). I love having a big family, and like you, Sarah, we live in a small house and homeschool. 🫶 Haha, the shower conversation, we have 1 bathroom! Sending you love from Wisconsin.
Digging an outhouse would be an excellent idea. There's nothing wrong with a lot of backup and building an outhouse can be a lot of fun. I've built two in my life. It does depend on the soil but with all of the help you have, it would probably be an easy job. It's good insurance in case something were to happen to the water (e.g. frozen line.)
Your story about the bathrooms is funny! I grew up in a family of five children and two toilets. So, yes, coming home from a trip was always a panic. I can remember my two little sisters (who were twins) sitting on the toilet at the same time, one little girl on each side!!
So funny! I have 5 and my youngest two boys (4 and 6) had to share a stall out in public. My husband got a (safe) pic of them both standing and going at the same time 😂😂😂
hello Sarah. I agree with you about not giving up hope of having a child after 40. I believed I couldn't have a child and stopped thinking about and met my husband and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Three months later I was pregnant. I call him my God send baby. He is now 14 years old. Love watching your family.❤
@@julien2912 Yes the postpartum depression can get really bad & with the lack of sleep it turns into postpartum psychosis in some people. A lot of the women who have had it will kill their kid/kids or think bad thoughts about the baby like wanting to hurt them. Remember the woman who drowned her 4 kids in the bathtub? It’s so sad 😭 she was a Christian & feels horrible about it.
Thanks for sharing🌈🌈 Your family is amazing. We have 3 and we have 4 grand kids 🌈 3 was good for us , but everyone is different . Have a wonderful Tuesday 🍁🍁🍂🍂
I lived in Japan for 2 years and cooked all my iwn food. Bread ,and all most foods we ate. I did have to drive quite a ways to buy some things, but go did get everything I needed. We did not eat fast foods. We were in a village not a big city.
TO THE WOMAN TTC AT 39: your first step should be to consult your Dr. They can test your levels to see if something simple can help you. If not, IUI/IVF might be options for you. I ttc for 18m in my mid 30s and discovered that I have low AMH for my age. It was torture until I finally got an answer. For me, a simple adjustment (upon the advice of a fertility dr) allowed me to conceive naturally. Im currently 20 weeks. Please don't delay seeing a doctor. Best of luck to you!!
Sarah with having so many kids and them being in so many different grade levels you have a big advantage when it comes to teaching/tutoring the youngest ones because they can always watch and learn from the older kids if Mom is not available or if they just learn easier with a particular sibling. If I had been homeschooled I am sure I would have gravitated to a few specific older siblings for help while mom was doing something else.
I was so tired during my second pregnancy. I fell asleep at work. I was mortified when the office cleaners opened my door. (Scared me too). It was 7 o’clock and and the whole office was empty. I always wanted a large family but was only blessed with two daughters.
I’m a homeschooling mama of 5 (oldest is in 7th grade). I’d really love to hear more details about how you set up homeschooling for older kids.- like having them set goals, etc. all the details would be much appreciated!!
When you showed the video where they we’re praying for Judah. I got so emotional. Prayer works when you have faith in God. He has no limitations, so we can every need to him. I try at the beginning of my prayers ti thank him for what he has done, blessings, and heard and answer prayers.
I have several serious medical conditions. I always listen to my doctors when seeking treatment. I would seek advice from my doctors before trying to conceive after 40.
Sarah....thank you....I don't have kids but God sure does speak through you to me sometimes. I was having a rough morning and decided to put your video on and I am very glad I did. Thank you for putting yourself out there ❤
I wanted a big family with lots of kids. All in all, I have 5 children, which for my husband and I was perfect. So many life lessons are experienced in the life of family.
This 65 year old fan always wanted a HUGE family - it is what first brought me to your channel! I have four wonderful children (which is big to some!) and admire how you handle a large family - AND then - when you bought land and are starting homesteading - ANOTHER HUGE dream of mine! I am dreaming of still owning a small farm - with a huge garden and many animals
Sarah, I have been watching your videos for years and they have been so wonderful. Draws me closer to God every time. This new series,”Ask Sarah” is So GOOD! Thank you for all you do for us. Blessing
I used to tell myself, “This to shall pass!” Our sons, especially one of them, would come to our bedroom, at the other end of the house, to tell us he needed to use the restroom 😂. He could have trotted around the corner at his / their end of the house to use the restroom. I’d tell myself it’ll pass! I know it’s hard when it’s in the thick of things. Sara, I’m still learning from you, even though my youngest one is 20. Love your videos!❤❤ PS. I also tried telling myself to enjoy the moment,
I did that tell my mom I'm going to the bathroom thing , I just wanted someone to know that I was up. I didn't like feeling alone in the dark. She told me just go , you don't have to tell me. I went without waking her 1st , then went & told her , guess what mommy I went potty all by myself. 😂 Poor mom
@@paulamcclellan8436 I’m guessing that’s why they did it 😂so they weren’t awake alone. I guess it was turn about fair play….. I used to wake my Mom. BUT we had to go use the outhouse 😉. 😂😂 That’s something we can tell ourselves when these things happen… somewhere out there is a mom, or dad that’s experiencing the same thing 😂
I admire you and your family. God gives us exactly what we need. I would not be able to handle your life. I have 2 daughters that were born 15 years apart. That's what I what I could handle. 2. Thankfully they're grown. One is married with 3 kids the other had never married with no kids. I wouldn't be able to keep up with your laundry and dishes. You are blessed.
Thank you for talking about you and your brother. I'd also like to ask for prayer. My mother recently passed away and that was the first time I spoke to my brother in years. He blocked me and time went on. 3 weeks ago, my grown kids were contacted by a detective in another state to reach me for next of kin. My brother had been killed and he was homeless. His children lived near him and my shock and anguish is overflowing. I've had 4 seizures since this happened and had to start medication and medication for anxiety. I'm at such a loss, I am devastated and having such severe problems. One child called me and I cannot reach him again. Will you please pray for me?
Praying for you🙏 May God bring you peace and may he watch over your family! May he heal your body and mind of the pain you are going through! So sorry about your brother! 😣🙇♂️🙏
I had my now 14 year old at 43. If you are having a hard time conceiving I have many friends that have used fertility acupuncture with great success :) best of luck to all on your parenting journey it is such a gift! Thanks Sarah for being so awesome!💕
For the viewer that's trying to conceive at 39, I would ask her if she's seen a reproductive endocrinologist. I conceived naturally at age 39. It was a miracle really. I have PCOS. At the time I had a bicornuate uterus, stage 4 Endometriosis, large fibroids, undiagnosed Adenomyosis, and one ovary and one fallopian tube. Also, has her partner been checked as well. It's not always an issue with the woman when not being able to conceive.
My first thought was if you have been trying to conceive for 6 months over the age of 35 see your Dr for further tests. Then if they don’t have answers find a great reproductive endocrinologist. I did and now have 2 miracle babies. Not only did I have low egg count but we had male factor issues as well. Pray a lot and seek out answers.

I am 40 and ttc after a tubal reversal in 2022. I was pregnant at Christmas but found out in January it was a blighted ovum. My first ever miscarriage. It broke my heart. Im still trying but Its been six months with no luck yet. I'll be 41 next month. We only want one. Just one more miracle before I get too old. I feel like because of my age and the fact that I only have my left tube that my chances are slim. My right tube is blocked.
My mother was the youngest of my grandmother's 13 live births, born at 40 years, 11 months. This was in 1938, so one might say she was geriatric at the time of the birth. There's always hope!
I was like you in that I didn’t want to waste time. I would sew or cross stitch while watching tv with my hubby in the evenings. I felt like I was wasting time just to sit and watch tv.
I taught for many years before having kids. I learned more from my students and my children than my very expensive college degree. If God wants you to know something, He will find a way to teach you. You just have to be open to learning! 😁

I’ve heard of quite a few ppl that got pregnant unexpectedly in their 40’s, while doing a clean/strict keto diet.
I alway said I wanted 12children but only got to 6for medical reasons, but then 6 turned into12 with their partners, and now 5 grand baby’s. I love my children’s partners as my own so I got 12in the end love your family to their beautiful bless them🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️
I think children need to find their own testimony, to truly believe.
Thank you for answering my question, Sarah!! It encouraged me to push more independence with my kids. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you so much for speaking about not making decisions out of fear. I really needed to hear that!
Wow your days are crammed pack. How healthy❤
Love this....20 children....God Bless her!!
One bathroom?!?!?! God bless YOU ma’am!❤
I give Gods all Praises whateverTrials and Tribulations, I ply through in Jesus Name Amen because sometimes it could be pathways we travel down.
Yes...we do want to do that.
Best channel on RUclips!!
In my opinion
Inspiring to ALL who watch and listen!! Thank you for sharing!
Your story about the bathrooms is funny! I grew up in a family of five children and two toilets. So, yes, coming home from a trip was always a panic. I can remember my two little sisters (who were twins) sitting on the toilet at the same time, one little girl on each side!!
😂
You’re so blessed that you never suffered from postpartum depression and or psychosis mine was horrible & I was a single teen mom at 19.
My mom had Postpartum depression. I know I am fortunate to NOT have experienced it.
Postpartum psychosis? Is that what you meant? That's a thing?
I suffered from postpartum depression after one of my babies. Having another baby actually helped me.
Thanks!
Thank YOU!!
Every mother is different, just enjoy parenting
Really appreciate the homeschooling guidance ❤
Great job CHAELI! Sending a video question in! I enjoyed your question!
Thanks for sharing🌈🌈 Your family is amazing. We have 3 and we have 4 grand kids 🌈 3 was good for us , but everyone is different . Have a wonderful Tuesday 🍁🍁🍂🍂
My mom homeschooled for 28 years. By 7th grade i was making my own schedule on the lesson plan. I could work ahead many weeks on most subjects.
Thanks ❤
Hello from tx, parents do there best. Boundaries. Children also make choices we can't control.
I was so tired during my second pregnancy. I fell asleep at work. I was mortified when the office cleaners opened my door. (Scared me too). It was 7 o’clock and and the whole office was empty. I always wanted a large family but was only blessed with two daughters.
Enjoy your life with your family love watching you all channel 😊
I’m a homeschooling mama of 5 (oldest is in 7th grade). I’d really love to hear more details about how you set up homeschooling for older kids.- like having them set goals, etc. all the details would be much appreciated!!
I love ALL if your videos! I wish I had more time to watch them regularly.
When you showed the video where they we’re praying for Judah. I got so emotional. Prayer works when you have faith in God. He has no limitations, so we can every need to him. I try at the beginning of my prayers ti thank him for what he has done, blessings, and heard and answer prayers.
Yes, on discipleship!! ❤
Definitely it’s the parents role to teach their kids about their faith as well as living out their faith! Funny bathroom story. 😂
Thank you for putting yourself out there ❤
I don’t have kids yet but would love to home school 😊
azsure standard has canning jars in stock
I wanted a big family with lots of kids. All in all, I have 5 children, which for my husband and I was perfect. So many life lessons are experienced in the life of family.
This 65 year old fan always wanted a HUGE family - it is what first brought me to your channel! I have four wonderful children (which is big to some!) and admire how you handle a large family - AND then - when you bought land and are starting homesteading - ANOTHER HUGE dream of mine! I am dreaming of still owning a small farm - with a huge garden and many animals
Me too I am close to your age 16:06
Love seeing you and your beautiful family
Love you guys!! Keep doing you!!
I'd love a cow too! Remember that they're herd animals so you actually need more than one Solo. ❤️
Love your videos!❤❤
PS. I also tried telling myself to enjoy the moment,
Ha...we had a child that did the same thing!!
I did that tell my mom I'm going to the bathroom thing , I just wanted someone to know that I was up. I didn't like feeling alone in the dark. She told me just go , you don't have to tell me. I went without waking her 1st , then went & told her , guess what mommy I went potty all by myself. 😂
Poor mom
If your worried about being pregnant at an old age.. remember Sarah in the Bible❤
@@paulamcclellan8436 I’m guessing that’s why they did it 😂so they weren’t awake alone. I guess it was turn about fair play….. I used to wake my Mom. BUT we had to go use the outhouse 😉. 😂😂
That’s something we can tell ourselves when these things happen… somewhere out there is a mom, or dad that’s experiencing the same thing 😂
@@nf2920 exactly & God Love ya,
Outhouse : that's added anxiety, I hate bugs
My mom had me at 42.
I was 38 for my first and 42 for my next. That’s how I planned it, and God agreed 😉🙏🏼💖
my mom had my sisters & i at 46.... & 3 (triplets)!
These Q and A's are so precious, for me I am in the season of being a senior and enjoying the grands!! Your channel is so awesome!! Our daughter in Florida loves homeschooling their boys!!
I had my first at 19 and my last 10 days before my 40th Birthday ❤
Good morning and happy Tuesday love your video ❤
I am 40 and ttc after a tubal reversal in 2022. I was pregnant at Christmas but found out in January it was a blighted ovum. My first ever miscarriage. It broke my heart. Im still trying but Its been six months with no luck yet. I'll be 41 next month. We only want one. Just one more miracle before I get too old. I feel like because of my age and the fact that I only have my left tube that my chances are slim. My right tube is blocked.
Good morning all happy Tuesday morning and I loved your vlogs and you all amazing Supporter
My mother was the youngest of my grandmother's 13 live births, born at 40 years, 11 months. This was in 1938, so one might say she was geriatric at the time of the birth. There's always hope!
WAY TO GO DENISE! Thanks for sending in a video question!
Hi Sarah, I love your large family
I was like you in that I didn’t want to waste time. I would sew or cross stitch while watching tv with my hubby in the evenings. I felt like I was wasting time just to sit and watch tv.
I taught for many years before having kids. I learned more from my students and my children than my very expensive college degree. If God wants you to know something, He will find a way to teach you. You just have to be open to learning! 😁
Amen! Dido! ❤
I love listening to Sarah talk. ❤
I had a baby at 40 I loved being pregnant and having a baby at that age.
I am turning 40 this November and am praying for more (we have 7) my mother was born when my grammy 40 and my younger uncle by 3 months was born when my babci was 40
We all need to give ourselves the Grace that God Wants us to have🙏🏻🕊✝️🌸♥️
Love you explanation of everything. So focused❤

I made cream fraiche. It’s so much like sour cream and easy to make.
Thanks for the tip.
Sara I have followed you since the beginning and have loved your family. My family has watched God bless your and Solos precious family over and over. Keep doing what you do ❤
Sarah your the inspiration for many people. This was a great video.
For the person who is having issues conceiving, please have a full medical. I wish I had years ago, so I could have adopted and not wasted my time trying to conceive.
I hear that from so many people ttc! We could've saved ourselves so much time and despair by going to the dr sooner 💙
I think Denise meant “oldest” meaning she’s been around for a long time watching your channel 🤷🏻♀️😍

Sarah just want to say that you are a true blessing.
Sarah,
Although we do have different perspectives on a few things, I find you to be so wise and confident in your views . I am sure you are an incredibly sturdy leader to your family and community !
