I think that this is a great idea by Arrma, for someone new to the hobby, you can build from a great platform, slowly and inexpensively from a good 2wd to one of the best 3s 4wd cars going. Built by yourself 👌. No other manufacturer offers this kind of personal investment with a RTR. 👍👍
Great vid. It was your tt02 neo scorcher upgrade vid that got me back into the hobby 4 years ago, and everyone forgets that newbies need good info. Just upgraded my K4 to the boost alloy diffs - not as easy as a power module change - you should consider that too to help newbies 👍
Thank you for this! You are exactly right. The Arrma Senton 4x2 3s Brushed trophy truck, is the perfect tool for an introduction into RC modding and racing. I'm older and I used to have RC vehicles as a kid. Life moves on and priorities shift. Expenses get limited. I had 200 dollars to burn and I decided to check out a hobby shop. I hadn't been to one in years. I asked where the cars and trucks were. After a short bit of talking, I saw the 4x2 boost sitting on the shelf and said, "I definitely want that. That looks cool." I knew nothing about Arrma and only a bit about Traxxis. I'm so glad I bought this thing. I got the 4x4 upgrade kit. Then my servo went dead. So I'm learning how to replace that. I lost a wheel bearing, too. So all of it is on the way. Ive read a lot of forums and reviews so that I know I am buying good replacement parts. I can't wait to slowly replace things with metal upgrades and stronger parts. This thing would be perfect for any engineering class.
Great video, and I like the way you took the time to explain how there is a clear and vibrant market for Arrma to be producing these robust RTR's with a welcoming price point that can easily be upgraded as time and budget allows.
Hi Fil :) Yep, people forget what it's like when you come into a hobby at the beginning, it can be overwhelming and off putting. people just want something that works well and isn't $400+ upfront
I can’t wait to get my Hobby wing for mine set up in a few weeks along with my bandit and I’m thinking of keeping the 2wd boost 2wd well would like to do a back slash on a senton conversion would be really cool. 😎
Been thinking about picking one of these up for a while, I reckon it's a pretty good deal for what you get out of the box. I could probably turn into a BLX with the spares and combos I have already.
Great video! In my country it’s cheaper to buy the 2wd version and convert to 4wd and make brushless myself than to buy the already 4wd brushless version. Do you know if the brushless 4wd has any other better components than the 2wd except for electronics?
You can use the esc and receiver combo as a standalone esc looking at the manual below. Standalone ESC It is possible to use the SLT 40A 2-in-1 ESC with a separate receiver. When used with a separate receiver the SLT 2-in-1 unit operates as a standalone ESC. To enable the SLT 2-in-1 unit to be used as a standalone ESC connect the external receiver/bind socket on the 2-in-1 unit to CH2 on your receiver and connect your servo to CH1 on your receiver. The 2-in-1 unit will function without the built in receiver and can be used with any transmitter/receiver.
Unless youve already figured it out. You absolutely need the receiver to use this esc, my hobby store guy didnt tell me that until i drove an hour away back to my house just to figure out i need to wait 4 more days to get a receiver
I think you can use the original ESC receiver combo just as a receiver (check the online manual first to confirm 100%) so you can keep using it and upgrade it later 👋 for budget is limited. 👍🏻
@@RCKickschannel UPDATE: The newer Arrma Senton 4x4 Mega 550 with the SLT3 transponder has a standalone receiver and does not require you to buy a new trans/reci set-up when you install the Arrma 3s blx Boost kit 👍

I can't help thinking you're not going to get enough money selling the Gorgon to buy 1/4 of the BLX version. How does that work in your mind ? Especially seeing as the brushed motor in the Gorgon is not going to last long or have significant resale value. But you should go work for Arrma if you have all the best ideas, I'm sure you know more about the industry than some dumb decades-old company who DOESN'T make millions of dollars a year. Get the udr... I got one myself, waouw what a machine. Already blown a pinion but what a fun
I’m not that beginner but, still new to the hobby but I enjoy working on rc cars that’s why I want one.
I like to see you get a UDR
Later this year fingers crossed

Are you able to use the stock receiver with the stock remote for this upgrade?

Gearbox is upgraded I think
@@RCKickschannel ah okay. How has it been holding up? Have you had a lot of breakage from jumping etc? Heard the gears can be a weak point?
So i would have to buy a reciever/transmitter after upgrading this?

So if I do the upgrade I need to get a new receiver and transmitter? Or can I use the original one?
