here are some things that I bought for my classroom and reaaaallly didn't work out for me. Things may have worked for you that just don't work for me and that's okay! - Promise I'm laughing at my own fails in this video.

I’m doing my A Levels and I would really love to become a primary school teacher but as we all know teaching (especially primary) isn’t nearly respected as much as it should in the UK, so as a “high achiever” no one I know thinks I should do it, or that it’s beneath me, which I really disagree with. I hate the fact in our society there’s such heavy elitism with regards to careers. Teachers literally shape the next generation and can affect a child so much. I know how much my teachers impacted me. People tell me not to do it because of how much work it is compared to the pay, but pay doesn’t motivate me as much as the work I would be doing. Anyway all of this kind of gets me down. But your videos/vlogs really inspire me and make me feel confident that I can have something like this as my future. So please keep the videos coming! You give me hope x

You just listed ALL the things I’ve been watching on peoples “classroom organisation” videos and I was going to go And buy all of these things! Definitely going to wait to get into my classroom before wasting money 😂
This video just called me out for the hundreds I’ve spent on stationary and books for my NQT year. Thanks for saving me from buying those drawers though, they’ve been sat in my wish list for ages haha!!

Loved this video. I have the sound buttons but I’m taking them down when I get into my class. I did use them all of last year but not as often as I should’ve!
Some people can use them amazingly! They just didn't work for me at all. Good luck in the next year!
I had a low budget version of the noise levels thing (a laminated sheet from Twinkl & a peg) and still never really used it! 😂 Glad I never spent money on it. I mostly spent money on books - mainly because I love buying books and it was great to have an excuse to buy them without needing to find space for them on my already overflowing bookshelves at home. Probably one of the biggest things I miss about teaching 😂

I totally agree about not buying stationary!! I LOVE stationery, but my school provides me with everything I need :D I've got a video about the few things that I bought that were useful on my channel too :)
On my placement a year 1 teacher I was with used those frames to put group names in as we had a carousal of activities each morning and the children would come in and find their group name and do that activity and it saved so much time! Just an idea for others in how you could use them😇

I've seen loads of American classroom set up videos and they all seem to be buying things themselves and setting up their rooms with their own money. The amount of times they go to walmart and target to buy for their rooms is so funny! Is that something that we dont really do in UK primary schools? Like, is it normal to just go in your room, do up the displays and thats it? I am UK secondary and I feel like everyone would look at me weirdly if I bought so much for my room!
I think it's an American thing that's making its way over to the UK. From what i know we do buy quite a bit in terms of 'nice-ness' for our classroom but noooo way as much as American teachers do!
Hi! I am a teacher who moved from the UK to the USA to teach in 2007 and i have been here since then. Schools here simply do not have the budgets to supply teachers with very much at all. Teachers supply their own classroom furniture, books, decor, stationery etc etc. Of course we get desks! Families are given supply lists over the summer. They provide their own notebooks, pencils, crayons, scissors, etc etc. It is vastly different!

Such a shame about the lights! They do look really cool. I think if I used them my students would constantly be pressing them... even I want to press them...

I bought ikea boxed with matching labels for each of the subjects of books... after about 2 weeks I gave up and no just stack the books in my cupboard 😂😂😂

I just spent £26 on books 😅 telling myself that at least all the money went to charity!!! The books will at least hopefully be read by children this way haha
