met Trev at NEC, He is an inspiration to all us amateur metal-benders and a really genuine nice bloke ! I don't think he realizes how much he encourages us to have a go at reviving these skills, best of luck, Trev
i must say not to many youngsters enjoying the vintage cars and all the work that goes into them. excellent video you guys accross the pond have some great looking classics. Thanks Trev
I went to a classic car show last year. As I walked around I became more and more depressed as I slowly realised that I was older than every car on display 😥
You're a very popular guy, it really must be surreal, and you well deserve it because you produce a first rate program. Thanks for checking out the car show, it was fun.
Wow, looks like quite a nice show! Was surprised to see so many classic American cars there though,,,didn't think you guys liked our "Yank tanks", lol. Also seems the perfect place to set up the Baking Bird and her van next year to sell treats to the show visitors.
Oooh...that little blue Mini Cooper on the MorrisLeslie.com stand. Reminds me of one of mine from the seventies. I would love to see you do a Mini (Trev style).
Just came back from SEMA myself, trade shows are exactly alike here and there. Looks like a great opportunity to network with vendors and other businesses.
Trev, haven't seen a video from you lately, assuming you're on holiday. Wanted to wish you and your family a belated Merry Christmas and look forward to more videos in the coming new year. You have excellent quality work and have set a high bar for others. 🙂
Thanks for the walk round trev wife booked a holiday so had to go much preferred to have gone to the nec but hay ho was warm with the sun on my back for a few days
Trev, great video. Being in Canada I see mostly different vehicles and it's interesting to see really well done rebuilds on the cars I don't often see. Really interesting is the electric conversions. One day the conversion will be a convenient option. And yes, you didn't have to say much; the cars spoke for you. Cheers
Hi trev nice to meet you at the nec ,I appreciate your advice on the r tec tig welder , my son Joey can’t believe he’s on your blog ,you’re a top man ,keep up the good work, and good luck with the van ... mike 👍
Thanks for taking the time to video and share, looked like a great event 👍 Now then, as you’re nearly finished with the Bedford the big QU is what’s the next resto project 😁
You could hardly move for fans and you handled them with such grace. It looks like an amazing show. The spare parts suppliers were incredible in their variety. You would never find a stand dedicated to Austins (I own an Austin) in Australia, I am quite envious. Cheers.
Pauline Hunter thank you I find it very easy to be be gracious with such lovely people, yes I was surprised at the volume of rubbers and trim available. Cheers Trev 👍
I must man up 1 year and come back to the uk in the winter to catch the show.... id be returning with 94kgs of parts via BA. I spotted that much in 3 stalls!
You are inspiring me to try TIG for thin panel replacement. Sadly it doesn't seem to work well on the " new " high strength Boronated steels. Phosphor bronze brazing seems to work well and is recommended by the manufacturers. So, not much of a chance to justify " teaching " it in my classes at the College. That being said, I recently acquired a 1958 Mercedes Benz 220s " Ponton" which I will be restoring. The car is complete with 95,000 original miles, always garaged but has some corrosion damage to the sills, floors, boot floor and front door jambs. I look forward to trying your techniques on my " personal restoration". Keep up the great work, I loved the Classic Show " walk arounds" thanks for taking the time to feed our car classic car addiction. Cheers as always.?
Another one here Trev, I was worn out walking round, and looking at your video you went to most of the places I had been to!, I stuck my camera into that same Mk 1 Cortina bonnet looking at the Lotus engine, I have not been to this event before so was overwhelmed at how big it was, I looked everywhere, so I thought but had to give up in the end, I was there Saturday so not sure if you were, I did not manage to find Xtreme, stupid me forgot to pick up a guide, but never mind, I did manage to meet up with Pete C from Cortina city of Swampy, Ruby, & now Bramble Mk 3 Cortina fame and had a word with him nice bloke, I did 2 hrs of filming but the noise in the halls was overpowering for the camera audio as no doubt you found out when editing, just putting part one onto RUclips, I found it extremely expensive being a pensioner £31 to get in and the rip off car parking charge £16, Dick Turpin is alive and well!, so I will have to make do with watching RUclips, Welding and cakes!!!!, I was hoping to get my hands on one of those chocolate thingies your wife made on her channel!! yum, yum. and thought you might of had the Bedford there, keep up the good work. Albert Rowe (Cheshire).
Great to meet you in person and nice to see my MR2 made it into the video, not sure how you got it to look so shiny though 🤣. Best of luck with the van.
Hi Trev! Great to meet you , I had a great time at a very good show. Also very nice to meet up again with R Tech and to see everyone from Xtreme Plasma. Well its back to the work shop with renewed enthusiasm!!! looking forward to your next blog, all the very best Dave!!
Great video Trev, this is one show I would love to attend, maybe next year. The electric car stand was interesting, don't tell anyone but it's a pipe dream to electrify my Bedford CF (I have got my hands on one now). And I love the fur collared denim jacket at the start, very broke back mountain :) , keep up the good work sir
The Gentlemen's Motor Racing Team thanks Kev, I’d do an electric project for sure. But I’m not sure about the environmentally clean claims though, battery disposal and generating the electricity needed 🤔 cheers Trev 👍
Oh man I wish I went along now, ended up going to slough swap meet instead...maybe next time..they can sponsor me if they want 😂😂 Trev and Jason you legends....
doubleboost thanks John it was great to meet you too. I really hope we do it again next year. I didn’t know what to expect to be honest. If I did it again I think I’d like to chat more to the different companies offering interesting services and solutions. A day wasn’t enough really. Cheers Trev 👍
What a great video Trev. Is the "NEC" like the "U.S. SEMA" of the UK? Keep up the great work you do Trev. You're a Bl#*dy Genius Mate. Billy J...…. Down under here in OZ.
It beggars belief that somebody can stand and wax lyrical over a Austin Devon ,I'll never know ,they were a bag of shit back in the sixties when I was an apprentice , why on earth anyone would want to rebuild one I don't know . I have advised many clients if you are going looking to buy or build a classic always go for something that was well thought of in its day as the process and cost to do the work on a good choice or bad one can be much the same .
Hiya Trev! Brilliant to meet you at the NEC and it was great to meet the finest car restoration fabricator on the planet. I hope you had a fab and groovy day, I know I did! What a show! Totally beaudacious! Thanks so much for featuring one of my songs off the CD I gave you. You’re a top bloke and no mistake. If you fancy a laugh, here’s the link to the video for “White Sand.” I hope it makes you smile. See you at next year’s show! Cheers bro! Nick ruclips.net/video/n7GsuOhbasI/видео.html
By the way, if you want to use “White Sand” again or any of the other songs off the CD that’s fine by me. Just to be formal, I wrote them all and I am the copyright holder and I give you permission to use them in any videos you make in the future. Best of luck Nick. Cheers!
Can I ask if you hold any opinion about jaguar XJ8s? Also, I had a mad idea that you should start offering 2 day introduction to panel beating courses and 2 day welding courses to blokes of a certain age. (Er, like me.) Guys spend a fortune going on cookery courses, so why not get taught something actually useful? This time next year you’ll be a millionaire!!
Nick Hewyn Holmes thanks Nick I don’t know a great deal about the Jags sorry. It’s been mentioned numerous times about doing courses, which I may consider in the future. I’m really not sure what I’ll be doing in the future which is quite exciting, I’m just going to see what comes of what I’ve set in motion. Cheers Trev 👍
Hiya Trev, no worries about the Jags. Probably a good idea not for me to start buggering about trying to fabricate compound curves and welding them into an old wreck that only it’s mother could love, anyway. I used to run a training company and I’m setting up my own right now so if you want any advice on how to set up courses then just get in touch. My email is nickhewynholmes@mac.com if you ever need it. Looks like you won’t need any advice on the marketing side as you are obviously brilliant at that side of things but if you want to bounce an idea then give me a call. Best of luck in all your endeavours! Cheers Nick

Look on the bright side Coneseula, no need to feel depressed. You're still around to enjoy the cars :)
In the immortal words of Brenda Blethyn as Vera "Mmmm, it happens to us all pet". Cheers.
Congratulation Trev, glad to see you relax and enjoy yourself... we all need to do things like this more. Cheers.
Trev, it was a pleasure meeting you and thanks for the heat shrinking tip and taking the time to talk to us. All the very best.👍🏻
You're a very popular guy, it really must be surreal, and you well deserve it because you produce a first rate program. Thanks for checking out the car show, it was fun.
Was there yesterday, great day out, but knackered from the walking! Big respect to the organisers, well done
