Having trouble with feathers absorbing skin dampness that is still soiled. Not sure how to stop this. Do you have any trouble with this? Is it the washing process? Blood imbedded skin is an issue, cannot get all the blood out of the skin
You usually have many hours if the skins moist/kept moist to put everything in place and where it needs to be, once everythings set and left alone it will usually start to dry
how old are u lol im 10 im trying to watch how to mount a bird (we are not struggling a lot cuz of covid but we cant afford like having 20 mounts in our house and so im trying to learn how
@@sawyerhuff7316 According to you I am very very old. I started when I was 13.And I could not afford to buy the things I needed. But getting the right supplies does make a big difference. Keep on plugging, because becoming good takes a lot if time. Too bad I don't live close to you, because I would love to teach you! I still have hundreds of mostly birds to mount. Once you start mounting for others,be sure to get your taxidermy licence.
@@jimreimer6140 do u need a licence if ur doing it for yourself and also lets say my best friend that is my age says "hey i just shot a teal yesterday can you mount it for me" and he pays me like 150 bucks
@@sawyerhuff7316 I live in Canada. When I was young I asked about a licence.Instead of helping me get a licence, the authorities got a young kid to paddle a bike to my house, and bring me a bird to mount. When I mounted it, they came and laid charges against me. This was not fun. That is how a taxidermy business starts, first for yourself, then for a friend, then Grandma, uncle, than friends friend. Just be sure you do it soon enough. You are in business once you start taking money. You can do it! Keep the good work!
How do I get to your new stuff
I'd love to enter for a drawing 😊
Why does your mount so fluffy and the feathers look so fresh it's nice! My mount can back to me an it looks so manged and looks like it dried wet
Can you use inject plastic in small animals feet?
So 3 years later is the Injection casting plastic still the best route or master's blend for the feet? Thanks

Question: how long do you have from the final prep of the skin before you have to mount it and set the wings?
