Love this video. I took some of the old style rounder one's I already had in my shop & cut them as close as I could get to these. Was surprised at the flexibility in mounting a mallard with just this simple adjustment. Will be buying Shane's in the future!
By far the best instructional video on wing wiring placement and hip placement . Very precise in depth , easy to understand video. Exceptionally well done! Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this video. I will be using those bird bodies.Beautiful mallard mount!
Magnificent !!!! Absoultly amazingly clear and well explained tutorial.... I really appreciate you making this video and I will be trying your manikin just to show my appreciation in return!! Again thank you .... Sincerely Phillip Hall
Very nice looking bodies and good explanation. I also run the wire up into the wrist area .Fantastic showing the wiring .For a bird 1/4'' off from one wing to the next can missalign feathers
Great video, and great bodies! I have a question, what is that tool called that you are cutting the wing bones with? Where can I find one? I've tried using shears, scissors etc. but they always seem to shatter the bone. I now use a hack saw blade that get's the job done, but the tool you use looks much quicker. Thanks.
Hey buddy I need help I have the body spot on but how do you mount the skin on the head with ripping feathers because there so fragile am I using to much clay or to thick if a neck I just don’t know or is there a way to pull that skin to up to the beak also what’s the correct way to measure a neck
Nice mounts but why do you put in your silicone fill after it is sewn shut. It seems silly to cut holes but into the skin, especially on show sides. Cant you place all the silicone through the original hole in the breast
until they're grease and fat free ,sometimes it depends on something like local birds [usually fatter ] or migratory, that just came from a long way off not much fat on the skin,A good tip is to ''pre wash'' with Dawn ,this kinda' breaks down the fat and gets it really wet for wire wheeling
Its shocking how a master like Shane can keep a bird perfectly groomed like that from beginning to end. Makes it look like a piece of cake.

SOOOOOOOOOOO easy to alter poses and remain physically accurate with good anatomy
