    Very helpful I will be needing to do this to some mini donks fairly soon and I'm not very familiar with them. I wasn't sure if there would be a big difference from a horse or not. Thanks so much.

    As a farrier, I believe this isn't ideal, u may affect the natural angles of their hooves and make them uncomfortable, I suggest using your rasp (the less aggressive side) and round the hoof.

      Ok thanks for the advice. I had to start doing this myself because I could not get a reliable Ferrier to come out and clip one little donkeys hooves. This happened time and time again so luckily a lady showed me how to file them to keep them in order in the meantime.
