I like that the instrumental is slower and heavier sounding while the verses are being plainly spoken rather than sung. Really drive's home the feeling of a madman's rant.
Just found out what happened to Ontronik "Andy" Khatchahurian Ontronik "Andy" Khatchahurian (I believe that is how his last name is spelled) left the band because of a hand related injury which limited his ability to play the drums, and he believed that the band wasn't going anywhere in terms of popularity.
not quite the part about his hand is true, but he *broke* the MF (and hurt the rest of his arm) and did it about a week before the band were set to record the '98 album- Shavo said this
Since i hate to disturb i just put my music on low volume and put the phone on my ears usually, went with the first video of this demo to hear, i made the mistake of putting it right on my ear when the "i sit" part started, my ear is still hurting. This quality is refreshing.
incredible that soad were lowkey a sludge metal band before speeding things up. i kinda love the rawer darker sound of their earlier demos. their first album definitely has shades of that too.
Unfortunately, I can't find those ones in high quality. I found these files on a Russian forum. The 1995 untitled demo and the 1997 self titled demo are incredibly rare because they were never meant to be heard by fans and were sent directly to record labels, so unless someone manages to get their hands on a copy and rips it in 320 kbps (or better), then you won't see them on this channel. I mean, I *do* have those files, but they're in the same shitty quality that everyone else has. (Hell, one of them is only *96 kbps*.)
