I’m a right leg amputee . I just ordered a pair of JK boots because my sound leg needs the best footwear .
Excited to do a pair of black and brown bison OT’s.
Very nice and interesting. I'm waiting on my first pair of JK boots😀
Great video Tim! Very interesting to hear consumers questions, even answered some of my own questions in the process.
Cant wait to see what the tougher wedge option is... kletterlift has a long track record, but technically not a wedge.
And these colors have me very curious..please give us some green options!
JK customer for life,
Chad Hickman
Appreciate it Chad!
Stoked to see the black bison leather, that would be on my list for my next set of wildland boots
A tough, heat resistant wedge sole would be amazing!!
Can I send in my old redwings for you guys to rebuild? Just wondering. I like watching the videos keep them coming
Thanks, will do! Unfortunately we don't rebuild redwings, just PNW style boots (Whites, Nicks, Drews etc).
Waiting on my OT Bison smooths like a kid waiting for Christmas. Black bison?!!!!! I see black bison Harvesters in my future. Woot woot make this happen.
Please release a video on how to care for your boots...I just ordered a pair of 300x's and don't want to mess them up. Thanks!
Ive been going back and forth on the price tag on JK boots. Im a carpenter, contractor, and craftsman who builds with my hands. I charge per day for my services what one pair of these boots cost. So, if i was building these boots, theyd be $500+ as well. So, its justified
When are you going to make a 6” OT Bison.
Would love to see Moc Toe style with Safety Toe, or have the option to do the Toe Cap along with a Safety Toe..!
Great video as always Tim. Just received my first pair JK’s yesterday (300’s). With a pair of Forefronts on order.
Good choice! You'll love em!
What do you use to stich the turn down to the sole? A machine? I have a pair of really cheap boots from Walmart that are turn downs and I would resole them because of the fit and the leather is really good. I was told they could not be resoled because of the turn down construction. The vamp can't be replaced like the welt can? Lots of questions to answer before purchasing an expensive boot that I can't try on before purchase, construction, and cost of sole replacement. ???
i wish you guys offered the 2021 sand wedge also, i hate christy crepe soles...
Is there an easier way to get the sizing right without having to print out the paper and tape measuring your foot? I hear the sizing is all over the place.
Is the Bison available in composite toe?
Any plans for a mens wellington ?
I have a question. Do you at jk adjust the size of the upper to be proportionate ? Most boots at size twelve and larger look like clown shoes, they just make the lower larger. Im thinking about a pair but, they dont ... there are no retailers in my area. So many times i find a boot that looks good but by the time i find my size they look comical
As always 👌🏻👌🏻
I done the sizing according to the printed paper on your site. I have alot of boots and i typically a wear 9-10 (tennis shoe size 10) it varies but all of them are in a D width. Your sizing states my width as an EE. Im afraid they will be to big on me. Can you please explain your width sizing, compared to some other brand? I currently own redwings, ariats, chippewa, dan post and thursday
Hello, please get in contact with our customer service team at general@jkboots.com or shoot us a call at +1 (509)-487-0154 ! They will be able to get you the perfect size 👍
I'm in the same boat brother. I'm a D width in literally every boot I have. They have me at 2E. I'm a 9D in whites, nicks, and franks. I just put a order in for 9 2E after extensive conversation with the customer service team. We will see when they arrive.
I'm a 10 branndcok and 10.5 in sneakers by the way.
I used to do some cold weather testing for an auto company up in Yellowknife, NWT and saw temps in the -30 deg F range. I had a pair of normie (i.e., not hand made or MTO) insulated boots with honey Vibram soles (can't remember the brand)... the soles would freeze *solid* in those temps, and it'd sound like I was wearing tap shoes for a few minutes when I came inside. After leaving that job I threw the boots into a closet, and when I pulled them out a few years later the soles were literally crumbling into tiny pieces in my fingers. Totally disintegrated. Is this a common effect of exceeding the low-temp limit on soles?
Honestly all rubber compounds are different, but yes that can happen. The honey Vibram tends to be better in normal to hot temperatures - a lot of Wildland firefighters where honey on the job and love it. It is very soft and not really designed for subfreezing temps which is why it wasn't able to hold together. We have a sole specifically designed for working in a wide range called the whiteX (rated from -20C to +250C) beyond which it's properties start to decline. In general you just want to make sure your sole is designed for the temperature range you need.
Do you oil the Bison the same as you would Cow hide?
Question here can your boots have all eyelet hardware if so is that considered a custom boot? Also you mentioned the firelander and superduty boots are the same boot just have different name so the arch hight the same between the two named boots ?
These are great questions! To receive your boots with only eyelets, you will have to order them as custom boots. The Fire Inlander and the Superduty have the same arch height.
@@jkbootsusa Thank You for your answers and I will have a custom pair made when I get my 1st pair of JK boots back to you all after I worn them. So you all see how they have worn and possible additions that might better them. I know these are amazing boots already by seeing them being built so anyone thinking about getting them I say go for it 100 percent.
These will be my first real PNW logger boots with an actual supporting arch and hope it makes a difference in how my feet/ankle wear the boot sole.
Nice
I love my forefronts
Could I have leather imperfections intentionally visible on the boot? Instead of cutting around a scar or brand, slap that puppy on the upper. I didn't think of this until after I ordered so I didn't put it in the order notes.
Do you ship internationally??? I’m in Aus
Are eventually going to make a heritage boot similar to the Iron Ranger, Blacksmith, Americana?
The thing I like about JK boots is they focus on the blue collar workers. That’s why they only make work boots. I wear work boots 7 days a week.
I dont actually Need them, But... i Need them in my life! 2 pairs!! 😂😂
Im obsessed with JK boots!
Why doesn’t any PNW boot maker offer a tan colored leather boot 👢 is it to hard to keep clean during the boot making process
Great info for the folks new to the game of honest handmade boots, as always Tim.
My first pair I promised you I'd beat on, are finally coming home for you to give some love to.
Actually found the melting point of the Red x, on a fire a few weeks ago. 😆
I'll swing them by on the way to a wedding, in about 10 days..... Yes, I'll be wearing my Forefronts in the wedding. 😉
Great stuff! Thank You 😄
i want a pair of 8 inch 300x but with whitetail deer skin with Vibram # 1275 Olympia soles . can this happen ?
How to buy in india
I have a wide feet and very high arches, do you have a boot at decent price?.
I'm over disposable footwear. It'll be 300 or Superduty for me from now on.
Another two questions: which tannery do you get your leather from, more than one, or is it something you don't like to say? (I'd guess you buy when you see what they have to offer at a particular time). Also, how does your last shape compare to those Whites & Nicks use?
They almost all use a 55last or a slight modified version of a 55last .Some of their leathers are from seidel but not all .
How to recognize that a pair of boots is original not fake pair
nylon laces are much nicer... unless youre welding or fighting fires... lol
15:04 Is a Loyal Fly Honey Needed? Uhh yah... invest in yourself. In high quality in all areas of your life.... Reject Modernity, Embrace Tradition... #FlyHoneysAndHandmadeBoots lol
There is only 1 argument you need for using nylon laces....you can literally take them out tie them together and use it to cut thru handcuffs by using a bicycle motion leather you absolutely cannot
Just tell her u don’t like handcuffs in the bedroom, I’m sure she’ll be fine with that
Do you have a last that is more of a barefoot shape? Which last has the most room in the toebox?
i would love to see a waxed flesh color eventually.
If you do make a goodyear welt you can never say your boots are all handmade ,don't cut corners just to reach another customer just my opinion.
Saquen modelos como nicks o whites porfa 🙏 😅 mas modelos y nuevas construcciones
