Sonic Battle is the most underrated for me The story structure is a bit wack but Emeril's story and how his personality builds with each character is so good that i cant help to love the guy. Plus, the moral of not letting himself become a welom and become his own person by th story still makes me cry man
I had Sonic Colors DS and I remember not knowing how to play it because younger me could not figure out how to play a video game for the life of me so I would run around until I found the special level which was the only thing that made sense. Safe to say I missed out on a lot and I might be playing it again at some point now that I’m smart enough to comprehend that you go right to get through a DS game (I was that dumb)

Rush Adventure is definitely the most underrated. It seems totally forgotten in comparison to the first game. The gameplay was fun (even if the water vehicle stuff was gimmicky), the new characters were entertaining, the music was different, the robot designs were cool, and the macguffin added was neat. Too bad they immediately killed off Captain Whisker and Johnny, never really touched Marine again, and although this wasn't his debut I'd be lying if I didn't feel bad for Eggman Nega!
I grew up with Riders (among other Sonic games) but never played Zero Gravity until recently... And I would say is not exactly underrated, but rather overhated. In fact, i quite enjoy the gravity mechanics! The Track design is very clever and far more thoughtful than the first one, and I do prefer the dynamic music tracks too. While Riders may have the deeper gameplay, Zero Gravity feels more unique and creative, although the removal of boost and turning completely sucks ass I 100% agree on that. Thankfully Regravitified exists which adds mechanics from Riders 1 to ZG. Maybe you'll enjoy that one idk.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is underrated Sonic game ...It has Sonic in it. Not even as a big crossover thing outside the Tetris stuff he's literally just there with no other characters from his series outside the online pfps

Lego Sonic Dimensions is by far the most underrated Sonic game in my opinion. Dimensions was already great, and the Sonic pack was the best DLC it had imo.
The only Sonic Rush game I beat was Colors DS. I technically beat Rush Adventure but I didn’t beat it completely as in like I don’t have all the Chaos Emeralds.
