This is one of my all-time favorite pieces, been wanting to record it for a while but I wanted to make sure I did it justice! Might not be a 100% appropriate approach, but I quite like how it turned out 😊
(By the way, if you see me weirdly looking down during the recitativo it's because I was trying to follow the wave pattern of the piano track I recorded this with, to make sure I fell on time 😅).

There is, to me at least, no appropriate approach to making your version of any given song. Well unless you advertise yourself as a baroque singer. Then there is certainly a correct approach :D. But as the wonderful modern singer you are, I think, if we have to dabble in appropriateness, you have to make the song yours. Purcell made a really pretty blue print for you to build on and make your own interpretations and additions - so to speak.
On short - a really beautiful Marcela rendition of Purcells baroque song.
