Great interview. I emigrated to Australia as a little girl in 1981 and am returning this year. I am astounded and overwhelmed with the Polish research I have done and discover the beauty of the country and people and emerging economy. I am blessed to have made this decision at this stage of my life. I see a country full of potential. Thank you for your perspective.
I've also been trying to move my family back after 40 years for many of the stated reasons. Covid put a kink in the plan but we'll get there and encourage more people of polish heritage to come home to make a better future for all of us. Now is the time!
True. Good luck on returning home! I'm thinking about the same - being Polish, but always lived abroad. Currently doing my M.Sc. in Finance and working in Investment Banking. A dream come true would definitely be to work for or found a VC fund based in Poland and invest in the whole CEE region because of the huge upside potential. Even though lots of Polish people left the country during the last decades, I think the tide has turned and most of the expats can be seen as an asset rather than liability, especially if some of them start to return. Reverse the brain drain. Cheers from Germany.

@@kolakpatolik1857 You really should look at some serious sources, instead of listen to the random drunkard or, worse yet, politicians of the opposite party (whichever party is the opposite at any given time). Polish GDP is constantly on the rise since 2016, every single year. Since then, the GDP grew by roughly 46,5%. In comparison, the debt grew by around 47%, so roughly the same.
In comparison, the European Union as a whole had its GDP grow by less than 20%, while government debt grew by almost 26%.
In that time, for both Poland and European Union food inflation was virtually identical. Core inflation was only marginally higher in Poland. General inflation rate marginally higher in Poland. However, Polish unemployment rate is 1% lower (and the trend for both is going down), so around 5% compared to European Unions around 6%. Wage growth in 2022 for Poland was 12%, while for European Union 5%.
So yes. Whether you want to admit it or not...Polish economy IS getting better. Polish economy suffers from ANY economic anomalies (like the pandemic, crisises etc.) less than European Union and many other.
Look at facts and numbers, not political agenda.

Definitely inspiring, we need more Polish people like Dominik that are already living in Poland to start believing in the greatness of Poland. Anything worth doing is difficult!
He is right about Polands PR. It's bad but Western countries don't want another competitor and will always try to show Poland as eastern Europe, cheap labour. You would be surprised but UK has such a good PR and you go there and you see how UK is crap. You hear about Poland bad things, you go there and you are surpised how good it is.
Find interviews on YT with ex Optimus S.A. CEO, Roman Kluska where he explains why Poles in the UK are great entrepreneurs but not in Poland. The answer is so simple, in Poland, they have to spend their energy to doctorate about new taxes law and fight with bureaucracy. Small companies do not have any chances competing with big corporations because by the law they are at the same taxes level. The entire energy that could be used to produce a great product is now shifted for dealing with bureaucracy, small companies cannot compete with large ones. The question is why the Polish government is shooting in its foot by doing this and stopping the real innovation to be born? Are those people in the government still Poles? Or do they just speak Polish where in fact are not Poles...? By their fruits you will know.

Bad PR is also created by Russian assets in Poland for years. Poland is a big thread for them in terms how much democracy changed in positive way entire country.
Stanisław Ulam was one of the representatives of so-called "Lwow mathematics school" which was a group of brilliant mathematicians, physicians in Lwów before II World War. These guys were one of the most brilliant "think tanks" at that time...

The problem in Poland is the education system which is producing great specialists, but not leaders! This is because of communism, higher education system needs reforms!
One of the best things I heard being said about Poland. I believe Poland can be great, and I'm in the process of moving bacK to Poland after living in the US for almost 30 years. This gives me hope for my kids. Very true about Poland's marketing, but I think that comes from the fact that Polish people don't believe in themselves and should take more pride in their country.

Using a "classical" computer to communicate to the quantum CPU is like attaching a steam turbine to a nuclear reactor.

Steam turbine is already a part of nuclear reactor. Reactor produces steam that drives the steam turbine which is producing electricity, Sherlock.
@@lm157 It is a part of a nuclear power plant. Reactor is one other part.
My point was (after Stanislaw Lem) that it should be possible to harness the enormous energy of the nuclear fission more directly someday than through multiple conversions down to steam as if we were in 19c.
@@mikolajtrzeciecki1188 Steam tech is not obsolete, it's just neglected. Fision will become obsolete soon though, as new fusion reactors are being tested big time. At this moment though, there's no other way to produce electricity using atom as through steam technology.
@@lm157 I know, I was just pointing out the apparent contradiction of having a "new" source of energy but still using an "old" way of harnessing it. As Lem put it, "when people invented the combustion engine at the end of 19c., they kept building cars as if they were horse carriages". In his view, people should be able to draw electricity directly out of plasma (I am not sure he was aware that fission reactors contained no plasma).
There is the apparent conservatism in engineering, like in "never change a running system".

I wouldn't trust this guy with my money. He is talking BS about quantum computing and quantum in general. For example - we know perfectly well how photosynthesis works. And that's why current photovoltaic cells are more efficient than plant's photosynthesis.

Consider his larger point. Polish is not a language of much use outside of Poland and it limits Poland ability to compete on a larger scale. Compare it to day french or Spanish which have extensive international reach. Or mandarin which has a built in market of a billion plus.
