Lewis - my wife picked up an early Christmas present for us - tickets to see you in Troy NY. "Empathy is where we share reality and that's what gives me hope." - best line of the show - best line of the year - best line to be shared for all time. Your quote lifted our hearts. Thank you!
TBF, in response to the last rant about aging, there are a lot of factors which affect how someone feels. Stress, malnutrition, sleep, physical fitness, whether or not there are high levels of toxins like mold in their living environment. It's certainly possible that people can feel better later in life if they lived under poor conditions when they were younger. I eat much better now in my forties than I did in my twenties, and after a decade of service in the Navy, I'm generally more fit. I can also afford to live in a nicer place which is healthier for me, as opposed to some of the hell holes I lived in while deployed three times; places where I would get lightheaded just being in the area for whatever reason. Since going into early retirement, all the stresses of not dealing with bosses, and co-workers has also had a colossal positive impact on my mental well-being. Overall, despite aging, I feel *MUCH* better now than I did twenty years ago!
Same here. I don't feel as good or better physically than I did in my 20s. However I do feel better in other ways.. different ways. I eat better, I exercise better, I live better. I don't have car payments and mortgage is almost paid off... less stress about big and little things. If I'd had the 40 years of wisdom I have today, (when in my 20s) well then ... my 20s would have been even better. It would have totally changed how I experienced my 30s, 40s, and 50s. So yup... I definitely "feel" better in many other ways today than I did in my 20s.
I don’t watch your videos as they come out but usually watch 3 or 4 in a row. I really enjoy watching your rants and reading others. I am happy to hear you are going to be in the new inside out. My 2nd grader has a toy set of the characters of the movie. After he put them in a box while cleaning his room, I snuck your character for my office cubicle. My job is mostly outdoors and don’t spend much time at my desk but it’s always a sense of joy, seeing your anger action figure sitting on the shelf.
You lucky shit , getting out of this country Lewis. Hope you enjoy your time in the countryside of London. Thank you so much for your humor, i feel like it helps ! 😂
Bread bags, and later the weather bags for the newspapers were great, especially if you were the one sloshing through the rain, slush, and snow delivering those newspapers. LOL
My wife has a service dog (a Pomeranian). For those who have never seen one, they can easily be promoted as the cutest dogs on the planet, and also the most hyper. He will not bark, fuss, or even move around in a restaurant. People do not know he is there! In a supermarket, he usually sits in the child seat and stays there quite content (and quiet, I might add). He lets my wife know if her blood sugar is getting dangerously low or high. I agree with the person who wrote the rant. Service dogs are very intelligent, and you rarely even know they are around (if they are small).. They are specifically trained to not interact in public settings. That is the entire point of them being SERVICE DOGS.
Thanks Lewis for reading my rant about aging. Got a kick out of your personal commentary! 👍. Hope to see your show at the Kennedy Center May 3rd. (assuming we both make it till then😬). Also looking forward to all of those awesome benefits I'll enjoy come my 75th birthday. Hope you weren't just shitting me 🙄(May 14th I'll be 71 😳). Barry Yates
Sooooo, when you get the 101 night trial, do they make you keep a mattress cover on it? I could leave a lot of pecker tracks in 101 nights. Not as many pecker tracks as i could 20 years ago, but still a significant amount. Enough to ruin the value of a mattress. Happy Turkey Day, everyone.
"There are no adults in the party who can go 'no, you have to stop this.'" There used to be some party members who did that, but then they lost their primaries.
The classlessness of the people of our Country is getting worse. Unbelievable. Maybe it's me, but there were people blowing off #fireworks on Thanksgiving. Wtf?! Happy vacay.
Watched my (adoptive) Dad lie in his bed and deteriorate at 98 years old, and I know right now I DEFINITELY cannot afford to die that way. Man, those Depends smelled HORRIBLE!!
Also: I'm not likely to get Prostate Cancer, only to have it go Metastatic. My rant, BTW, is on the mispronunciation of words, especially Metastasize. Which we even now SPELL to mispronounce. When I was in undergraduate, acing chemical nomenclature in Chemistry class (😎), my grandmother (Dad's mom) told me that pronouncing the words the way I do really makes them understandable. No duh, grandmother (who learned a new word every day, even with dementia kicking in later in life! She couldn't remember us (her grandkids) but got those words down solidly!). Anyway, I will continue to pronounce Metastasize as the root, Metastatic, turned into a verb: Meta-STAY-size. All you Me-TAS-ta folks can start taking that long hike, thank you. BTW, it's a class thing to mispronounce words that way, artificially elevating the erudite who KNOW how to pronounce words from the poos who don't. Thank you, and have a GREAT day! 👋😊
While Mr. Trump has repeatedly expressed admiration for authoritarian leaders, I don't believe he knows these specific references. (He knows about and is skilled at other things, but he has shown us on several occasions that world history isn't in his wheelhouse). But you can bet that his speechwriter, Steven Miller, knows these references. I'd wager that most of the people on his team working towards getting him back into the WH also know them. This time around, Mr. Trump's team is comprised of people who are chiefly loyal to him, not to the Constitution or our shared American values. I hope enough of us can clearly see what they're doing, and will vote to save our country from it. Loved your Rantcast today, Lewis. Wishing you well. Thanks to you and your team for doing these!
Math is math, wasn't engaged with math, not until my thirties, wasn't trig, was airplanes, fluid dynamics, weight n balance, not how long it takes to convert for fps, to furlongs per Fortnite, different strokes for differs maths. And kids.
Lewis, please change out the grandpa glasses. You are too handsome for those. Need more color, maybe a gun metal grey or a nice brassy titanium with a little more lens tint.😊
Ironically, even full-time travel can be cheaper than paying living expenses in many cases. There's a well-known book by Matt Kepnes called "How to Travel the World on $50 a Day". Granted, inflation has probably skewed that quite a bit now... but, people don't realize how cheap it can be to rent a Mexican villa with an in-ground pool and maid service (it's cheaper than what most people pay for rent/mortgage in the US). We just have an extremely expensive country to live, even before the pandemic hit; and part of that is due to how the right-wing keep preventing us from having all the social safety nets most modern countries have. Yes, other countries have higher taxes, but that is more than offset by free healthcare and education, etc.
@AMortalDefiant My daughter just spent a year traveling thru Mexico and Costa Rica. It allowed her to save up more money to go towards rent in Denver. One bedroom apartments are a lil bigger than in NY but the prices have skyrocketed there. $1800 a mo for 500sq ft. In Mexico she was paying $500 for a 2 bdrm villa with huge rooms. Medical care was cheaper as well when she injured her back. Shhhh ... most Americans don't know that Mexico has free healthcare for its citizens. They also don't know that food is cheaper, fresher and more organically healthier either.

"Liar Liar Pants on Fire" Amendment 28. Why not. LOL. Got a nice ring to it.
That should also be used on Trump.

Countryside of London?
Wore my share of Wonder Bread knockoff socks growing up. Hell, I occasionally still do if my work boots start leaking.

@@corinnecivish7673 How I remember those awfully early mornings before school. Collection was the worst.
Sorry to see you quit touring. You make me laugh like few since Mitch Hedberg.

Peabody and Sherman had the Wayback Machine, not Rocky and Bullwinkle 😉
Happy Thanksgiving!
Same show, just a different segment
@@Styphon they characters didn't actually interact, so Rocky and Bullwinkle never even saw the wayback machine

Happy Thanksgiving Keep it up Lewis
when are you coming back to Utah? love whenever I see you there
Better check his tour dates. With him countdown to retirement clock started you won't want to miss his final show if he's anywhere close to your area.
