Hi there, Liron here!
Today we'll discuss painting DIRECTLY with no pencil lines, AND painting watercolors that are VIBRANT, without any dullness.
A lot of the magic is in the grays, as you'll soon see.
I hope you find this one enjoyable 🙏😊

You are different among your contemporaries specially amongst the younger generation.you are simply great.all the best
I disagree with anyone who might say that your paintings are all gray or a mess! Accuracy is about values- are your darks dark enough and your lites light enough? I believe you achieve more realistic paintings…and very well executed. Thank you for sharing ..your paintings help me.
Thank you so much Sarah! 🙏😊 Very kind of you
Liron is so inspiring and challenging-and has a lot of miles drawing, judging proportions, seeing values. This direct approach is less likely to succeed if you don’t have pencil, ink, whatever medium, drawing experience. So if you’re a newbie painter, don’t worry! If you’re disappointed in your results, keep practicing! It WILL pay off. This is a great thing to keep trying.
Haha thank you 😊🙏🏼
I will mention that accuracy here (in regards to the drawing) isn’t that important too!
This is more about what you can make the paint do, and how you can make IT sing (: So complete messy, inaccurate shapes can still look magical, and even, dare I say… realistic!
Beautifully put Liron! I used to paint methodically; light to dark, layer upon layer, and planning everything out with Lazer precision. What I found thru doing that was I was completely holding myself back by painting "how it's supposed to be done". Once I threw the whole rulebook out the window, I started producing painting uniquely and organically. Not that I don't still use some of those "rules" but now I use them as tools, and apply them as needed. Your giving watercolor tips that other painters just won't say or admit to, and I think that that's exactly what people need to hear. Your genuinely honest and I appreciate it very much! Keep it up man! You've come so far.
YES! I can tell this is something you’ve truly experienced for yourself 😁🎨
This is exactly where freedom begins. So happy to hear 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Keep up the great work
This poisoning of the process- I completely relate to. When I fully let go, and paint with intuition, the overall outcome is always better. I totally understand your yearning for painting as you see and your interpretation of nature.
Can feel the energy of your painting. The colours are gorgeous. Loved the way you painted this without a sketch. "Liron The Brave." Thank you for sharing.
I have to say that of all the watercolor artists I follow Liron is the one that inspires me the most. He does not promote formulaic process and I connect with that. I enjoy intuitive painting and observing my reference and then letting go. Much like this demo. Also, I still think it's valuable to know how to draw and know basic concepts like ariel perspective and to know how your palette of colors work for you. Thanks, Liron!
Thank you so so much Paula 🙏😊
Very happy to be able to provide that kind of content and lessons.
I couldn't find many of these myself, so ended up creating them haha (:
I have no real agenda to how anyone should paint.
I think that opens a space for exploration and discovery.
Love your work.
Keep sharing please.
Your videos are so helpful.
So happy to hear, thank you 😊
This was so interesting! Thank you so much for sharing that process with me. I think I will try to use this process in my own paintings.
Let keep know how you like it! Every person will find different things work for them (:
Awesome Liron 😊thank you.
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Very nice painting. I enjoyed watching the process. I think one reason it is so satisfying is that sometimes when I sketch, it feels like I am doing a paint by number, just filling in the shapes. Your process seems more freeing.
Thank you so much! Exactly 😁
It can be so unsatisfying.
And the interesting thing is - it's not the "paint by numbers" part that creates the problem.
Meaning - I've done a few detailed paint by number paintings before (mostly as a kind), and they're super fun!
With every shape you feel like you progress towards the end result.
The problem arises when you follow this process when not intended.
So you paint LIKE paint by numbers, when your intention was discovery, exploration and experimentation.
And perhaps achieving a vague vision.
If you'd have known and planned to do a paint by numbers - it WOULD have been great fun!
This video process makes me happy! I can feel your joy at painting this scene. I’ve only tried painting without a drawing a few times. Usually I’m surprised how good it looks after. Not always but mostly. 😊 It’s fun to watch you paint. From the first mark to the final painting is such a magical journey. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so so much 🙏😊 It's the most fascinating way I found so far to paint 😁
And yes, there's often a unique freshness to it - so happy you experience it as well in your work
I really really enjoyed this, ty
So happy to hear, thank you 😊
Awesome video, nobody expects any less on this channel 👍
Thank you so much 😊🙏🏼
I needed this 🙏🙏🙏🙏
So happy this helped (: 🙏🏼
It's fascinating to watch you put together something so.. coherent? Some people are so skilled at making everything work, all the details of the scene, and it looks so easy until you try it lol. There are so many aspects that are working in harmony and yet, no drawing?? That's enviable skill! Great job, Liron👍
Thank you 😊 Indeed, it’s not something that will fully work immediately. There’s a lot involved.
But the gist of it is the freedom + vision. If you have those, the rest will take care of itself (:
Thank you for sharing your knowledge bro.
Thank you so so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼☺️
This is awesome. But whenever I try to paint a subject all in one go without letting layers dry it turns into one giant cauliflower.
It takes a while (and lots of cauliflowers!) to learn the timing, paint/water ratio etc-but Liron learned it over time, and so will each of us, IF we keep on trying!
Thank you
Thank you for watching ❤️❤️
