- What's up everyone! In this video I give you guys a car update on what happened with my 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia. Check engine light came on and a whole host of problems happened! If you guys can guess in the comments what the actual problem is! Stay tuned for more updates.

Gotta say I fell in love with the car on first sight, problem is that I've made two to three trips to the dealership in the last 14 to 20 days for electronic throttle and service engine lights. Wondering if this is something you've experienced with your car in the time after this video? How'd it turn out?
I did not have multiple trips to the dealership, but when it started having this problem, the car was out for over a month. I also really love these cars, but it seems like they have many mechanical issues.

I’m having the same issues I been to the dealer 3 times to find out it was my multiair it’s sitting in the shop currently right now honestly I’m ready to leave Alfa I had the car for 2 months and it’s doing this I’m ready to go back to bmw or Mercedes

Ditch Alfa for Volvo!
I waited until the 2018 model year. No issues. 54,000 miles on the car now.

These problems just started to occur right at the end of my lease so it was the dealerships problem

depressing the brake and feathering the throttle Will cause a check engine light on occasion due to the "Prius Effect", this is to prevent Unintended Acceleration.
Its a built in safety mechanism,
This safety mechanism will trigger if both pedals are depressed over a certain amount of time. You will generally be forced into a LIMP Mode and you will receive a check engine light for the throttle-body. The simple solution, is to stop the car and cycle the ignition a few times and this will clear that code.
vakhtang khintibidze I tried doing that and it still didn’t work. The car is currently in the shop and they are working on the issue. I’ll make an update video on what’s going on soon. Thanks for the comment :)
Edgy Edge to specify, key cycles include turning off the vehicle, opening the driver door, closing the driver door and restarting the vehicle 4-5 times does the trick for me

He should try dissconect his battery for few minutes and put it on again, and he could clear the codes too with obd2 scener
There's some recalls that have to be done... Just like every other car... Recalls are the norm... I've had Toyota's and BMW... The same thing

@@tom11zz884 I've had my car for 2.5 years... No break downs yet but when I owned my BMW it spent almost 8 months out of 12 at the dealers... Got rid of it asap
No they don’t, I have a Tacoma and their recalls usually involve a squeaky noise somewhere BUT never a check engine light when the car is broken and not able to drive,

The dealer had to change to the gaskets.
It ran hot so it went into limp mode to protect the engine that is one of the reasons the check engine light came on some times electronic parts are defective

whatt happend eventually ,unfortunately alfa has not yet manages fixing it's electric systems , probably it is gonna be a sensor
So try and turning off the idle off and on switch next to steering wheel

I like the story on the guy that took one for a test drive and it broke down lol.. Buy a Corvette they last longer.. Mine was trouble free for 8 years.. Then had a small $800 problem and ran good all the way to 120,000 miles then I sold it.. I got out of sports cars not cool for a 66 year old to drive one around lol.. And there hard to get out of but a good car for sure..lol

Funny you should say that because I own an alfa Romeo and a Corvette! I own other cars as well but those are my 2 favorite to drive. Love my C7 Corvette!
My C5 was disgraceful and plagued with issues compared to my Giulia.
Bruh I had that limp mode problem too and the stop start not working and now the Evap system is giving me a check engine light . I’m only at 24k miles rn. Alfa better not charge me a penny for this shit
Mine has 24000 miles as well and the same issue and it's going in the shop tomorrow. They are saying about $2500 to fix.
@@Foxtrot_EW I would say don’t . All that shit will go away . The Evap system is just the gas cap
@@semkok7759 I'm a little late on that...it's already in the shop at alfa Romeo. Apparently it's a screen that Monitors oil flow and when that gets clogged up it will go in the limp mode so the only way to fix that is to get in there and replace that screen. They're already inside the engine so it's it's a commitment already... I'll let you know what happens. As far as the evap system, Apparently it's a big problem with these cars and they've already redesigned it for the replacement charcoal can.

@@semkok7759 Yes that's what my alfa mechanic told me and then he said they went to a larger charcoal canister for the replacement and so they aren't as problematic now.

How much did it end up costing you?
It was under warranty.
Mine has 25000 miles on it and no warranty l and it's in the shop right now getting torn apart and it may cost thousands.

@@pharmedgy i go to the dealer ,make appointment for 15th of July. Get back to the car,start the engine,turn arround and surprice - everithing works as it should be,no any codes or lights?!?! Driving the car all day ,no any lights or codes?! Any way i will go on 15th to see what they will say.

Buy a toyota camry xse v6. Youll save yourself time and money! They are very reliable, sporty and youll spend more time out driving rather than sitting inside wondering what went wrong 🤔

Woow, the 100s of youtubers who are happy and have no issue's at all are suddenly pointless. That's just the main thing Alfa has against. If 1 RUclipsr complaint his 2 year old bmw has problems the opinion is that he has bad luck. If it's an Alfa 1 youtubeclip is enough to generalise.

@@pharmedgy from my experience any car brand is a hit or miss, i've seen ppl have issues with hondas, toyotas, american cars and german etc. Every manufacturer has a bad batch of cars that end up making it to the dealerships.
How many of them actually drove that car for like 100k km? Most of them share their experience from a single test drive.
