- In a parallel universe, I like to imagine that Lip Gallagher made it out of the South Side, facing his demons, carrying emotional baggage, and trying to do something for himself in life.
Carmen Berzatto was tailormade to be his role. The character, the sadness in his eyes, and facing myriads of anxiety, but carrying on, and carrying on still to somehow find the strength to let the good come to your life, this show is one the best out there. It carries emotion, chaos, and development in a very efficient, synchronous, and coherent way.
At the first episode, when carmy was about to make spaghetti he opened a can of tomatoes but he never really looked inside it, instead he threw it away
Let it rip.
Huh?

Have you not watched the show???
That song is great!!! I wish this played it through the credits...
I cried a lil bit
@@headknocker2020same
Mikey smiling back to Carmen and signifying to him: "Relax bro and enjoy the ride. Let it rip." ❤
I just go back to this scene and let it rip
Same. It’s almost like it was made for me to get emotional to. Wish I could watch this for the first time all over again.
I just go back to this scene and bawl my fucking eyes out
One of the things that really made the end of this episode special was that realisation that ‘let it rip’ was really his brother saying ‘let this place die then rebuild it, make it yours, let it Rest In Peace’. I thought that was so beautiful and showed that his brother really did care
congrats po
The music… Such a powerful, beautiful scene ❤
I almost cried and but was happy that sense of relief when things are so broken…that lil glimmer of hope is always 👍
God, I love it when actors actually eat on screen.
The end of the season 1 was really befitting, doing justice to what all they had been through and this song took it too the moon
It was so perfect and heartwarming, especially seeing Carmy ane Mikey together again at the end made me cry and smile at the same time. What a way to end the season. 👏
for such an incredible song that could presumably be overlayed on basically everything that's decent in this world or even semi-decent to make it decentish..., it speaks volumes that RH decided to grant permission to use this track for this show.
The way I started sobbing. This song saved my life.
COUSIN!!!! What a show and what a song, Chef! This scene made me tear up and I think Let Down sent me over the edge.
this show is so good i can’t
Season 3 though....eeesh...
@@Andrew-Comiit’s good?
@Letsgochvmp season 3 for me was incredibly frustrating.... the audience score is 50% so I guess I'm not alone
A great show elevated even higher by the perfect use of one of the greatest pieces of music written in the past 100 years
I'll be honest. When the needle dropped, I made a little squealing noise.
Let down underrated
I love Radiohead
I love this show. Special
When it cut to credits right on the song's climax I lost it
This show is fantastic
Why do I get emotional over this
4:35 makes me cry every time. Honestly the defining shot of the show.
Let it rip! Goat show, Wish there was an hindi dubbed version. 😅
This scene is great and all but why did they throw the pasta on the floor?I bet it was a nightmare to clean the kitchen after this. Definitely not the best approach for this task from such talented team.
His smile. The music. The family meal. It’s all perfect. This show is special
god i fucking love this song and i lost my shit when i watched this scene😭😭
Bro literally that was me I was in shock
Same
Same here 🥺
Same here, I literally cried the whole scene. That song means so much to me and the scene was so emotional that I couldn't hold back the tears. As someone else in the comment section said, The Bear is special.
bro let down is my favorite song of all time and hearing it in such an emotional scene almost made me cry in front of my friends
I love at 0:57 when they’re all carrying handfuls of cans but Cousin Richie stacks them all on a tray to carry as many as possible. Such a clever detail showing early in the series that he is actually quite resourceful and intelligent in his own ways despite not having found his “purpose” yet.
Was just about to comment this! Also a preview for Season 2 when he's in that much more organized setting, shows he has a natural affinity for organization and order somewhere deep inside.
X1000!
What an awesome catch!! Never noticed that!
Wow good call
Perfect end to the series, perfect music, perfect performance
This was the first season
It’s also not over third season has been announced
Each time I see Mikey’s smile at the end I just start bawling like a baby.
Same here, man. :’) ❤
I literally placed a hand in my mouth and smiled warmly when I recognized the song. God what a heartwarming scene and a perfect finale for the season
"One day I am gonna grow wings, a chemical reaction hysterical and useless"
THE INDOMITABLE HUMAN SPIRIT
blud is talking about a whole other song 😭🙏
Cousin....HELP.
I cried at this moment
I literally started sobbing. This is such an epic ending to a season.
I loved the camera work in this show. The cuts and editing is just perfect.
And the no cuts and one take.. phenomenal
I like how I’m sitting there and at the end I’m like “THE PUNISHER?”
If carmy would have just finished opening the can at the end of the first episode 😂 also Richie was gonna give Camry the letter Mikey wrote when he found it earlier in the season but put it back where he found it lol. I fckn loved this finale! when he realizes there’s money in the cans 😊 “I love you, dude. Let it rip” 🥹🥹🥹🥲🥲🥲 such a great show.
Carmy, man. Camry's the one that goes vroom vroom
The first time I saw this it broke me in the middle, with Radiohead's music and what we had been carrying from the previous chapters, it was impossible not to break
Name me a better tune used as a season finale… Absolutely loved this the first time I saw it. Incredible.
I loved season 1. I just finished it tonight, and I really liked it. This ending was great also. Really heartwarming. Something that's kind of nice actually is...if the series ended here, and we never got a season 2 and were never getting a season 3...this would be a satisfying ending. Carmy comes to terms with Mike's death, finds the note, learns the spaghetti, finally lets go of the restaurant to open his own, and everyone ends happy, and changed, evolved, and developed. Gonna start watching season 2 soon. Cannot wait...despite the fact I heard it gets pretty dark, which will be hard to dive back into after this hopeful and happy season finale.
I just finished season 1 and it is one of my favourite seasons of a series ever. Should I keep watching? Season 2 worth it?
Guys. It’s so worth it
@@shortassbdW
Too bad season 3 was shite
watched this shit a few times but i tear up every single time man, what a show
I shed a tear at the end of this scene. When Mike was smiling. It was so deep.
One of the best 4 minutes of a show, ever. It’s everything.
I was in pure shock watching this. The music, the cuts between scenes, the emotions. Probably one of the best season finales ever. It just HIT.
0:50 to 0:56 I will never not hear this in my head whenever this song comes up on my Spotify now.
I quit my job at a pizzeria after I saw this scene. I’m an artist, I want to MAKE ART, and I’m doing it now. This show is a godsend.
I wish you all the best for the future. May you find peace and happiness in your artistic pursuit☺.
I’m the same, and I hope I make it
Sending love!
Much love ❤️
When I heard “let down” start to play, my heart just felt it. It’s crazy too how we go through things and the universe gives us signs.
The can of tomatoes scene was just a spiritual message for me personally.
I found myself wanting to make my own sauce recently and cook better. I remember canned tomatoes is how you make a good sauce from what I heard from my aunt who made the best sauce growing up.
Struggling in life and feeling let down by God and all.
I felt an urge to watch this show because I like Jeremy Allen White, and I’m inspired by learning. This show was so anxiety driven and low in vibration at times, but it showed me so much on how we all struggle. When we feel like we are going to break but instead we get a break through.
Definitely cried when he put up the new Sign: The Bear and stared at Mikey(Jon bernthal) and smiled to the sound of this beautiful song. From our darkness we go through, we reach The Light ✨time to go make my own sauce 🍅
“Let Down” was a perfect choice for this scene. Bravo whoever was the music supervisor!
gives me chills every time
Let it rip
i actually cried during this scene
We all did lmao
I bawled like a baby.
I work at the place that cans those tomatoes. I specifically work at the labeling center.
I love the smile at the end. It's almost like mikey telling carmy not to worry, he is still with him in spirit.
Probably the most beatiful ending's season written ever.
Dare you to look without crying
LET IT RIP
Da Vinci would love this scene, art at its finest
name of song?
Let Down - Radiohead
You know, you know where you areeeeeee
This series does something incredible: introduces me to the new amazing songs i haven’t listened to before✨🎶
Just finished season 1. I’m not familiar with the song and i didn’t catch on to it until the memory of Mikey showed up and i started reading the lyrics because the captions were on. Phenomenal!!
Greatest ending ever.
It literally lost my shit when I heard the song 😢
Best Moment Ever in a Tv Series
I never even watched this show I was just looking up Let Down by Radiohead and now I'm confused (but also kinda curious about the context)
Basic premise of the show: the guy with the slicked-back (?) hair and all the tattoos on his arms is Carmy, a chef who's been working at Michelin-star restaurants for a while now, but returns home to Chicago when his older brother Mikey commits suicide and leaves his sandwich shop to Carmy. Season 1 is all about him trying to deal with his brother's unresolved debts, a rundown kitchen, and a chaotic staff, all while dealing with his own demons and family trauma.
If that sounds interesting to you, I highly recommend checking out the show, because it's very good (but also pretty intense, obviously). That said, here's the context for this specific scene:
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
In the scene before this, Richie (the guy with the beard and short hair) gives Carmy a letter from Mikey that he found wedged between the employee lockers. On one side of the letter, Mikey wrote "I love you, dude; let it rip", a phrase he used in the past whenever he needed to encourage Carmy. On the other side is a recipe for a spaghetti recipe for the 'family meal' that the kitchen staff do together each day, which says to use smaller cans of tomatoes because "they taste better" (and which Carmy had been wondering about earlier in the season, since it would make more sense budget-wise to get bigger cans). The cash they end up finding in the cans is implied to be the money that was loaned to Mikey by "Uncle Jimmy", the restaurant's original investor. Instead of paying it back, Carmy and Syd (the new girl at the start of the season, and the one who walks in midway through this scene) decide to close the restaurant and renovate it into a new one. The final shot is Carmy envisioning Mikey smiling back at him.
...sorry that ended up being a bit of an over-explanation 😂
@iantkach6640 thanks for the rundown, the premise actually sounds super interesting and emotional ngl
Makes me cry whenever I rewatch it, this is one of the greatest endings to a season of a show I’ve ever seen
Where did the money come from?
Was it drug money?
Perfect scene, music, everything
In his fully depressed state, before the “autoshot”, he loved and missed carmy so much, that he stopped investing in his restaurant (napkins) ,even borrowed money for his brothers dream 😭
I fucking love this season of the show. Season 2 is good don’t get me wrong still very relatable and amazing but the first season is just so perfect and complete. Season 3 has some of the best moments especially episode 1 the attention to detail but especially with the cut off and not really having any direction the first half brings it down for me. But nothing has felt better in this show other than the closing of the first season so warming and such a good use of Let Down turning it more hopeful. Still can’t wait to see more will be there for season 4
There’s no way a single kitchen would have that many single-handed openers. 😂
As soon as Radiohead played I cried
I do not even like Radiohead, but this series / scene has made me fall in love with this song 😭 I’ve never watched anything like it
As much as I love the other 2 seasons, i would’ve been okay if they ended it here
Why did you cut the end of the song off?
Don’t get sentimental it always ends up drivel❤
you cut the credits mannnnn
Ok, now i want to watch this show
Ok now, i have seen this show :)
xD you should leave the music + credits when uploading an ending
Love this song, love this scene, love this show.
Top 5 best season series final
Context the money?
This was the W ending
I'm enjoying season 2 so far (watched episode 8 a few days ago), but honestly, I think this also would have been a perfect place to end the series. Carmy finally seizing the opportunity to build his own thing, the whole staff (Rich and Syd included) working together as a team, and Mikey smiling at Carmy as if to say: "See? I knew you'd make it there sooner or later, man."
4:37
I´m crying.
When they’re opening all the cans and all his employees are talking about how they can get a new stuff like a stereo even a new car. That pisses me off like no other, none of that money for you guys it’s literally all Carmen’s money. Every cent.
Chill dude, they were telling that to Ritchie.
Can someone explain how the money got in the cans?
with love bro. Let it rip.
"The Beef is closed. Thank you for youre patronage.
The Bear
Is coming"
Idk why but that last part makes me tear up.
The last clip when it shows Mikey just makes me sad for Camry
It's really telling how the first person he thinks of to ask for help is Richie.
If Mikey trusted Richie, so does Carmy.
I just got done with season one, and that look between Carm and Mikey legit had me in tears, perfect ending, and perfect song choice. I’m in love with this show.
This ending was so good, that they could have easily ended the series here if they wanted too as a mini series. Obviously glad they didn't
A great show that would have become legendary if only they had the discipline to stop here.
Whoever made this clip cut it off at the ending credits where Let Down takes you out. That’s the best part, the black screen and the outro.
The moment they played Radiohead this show becomes 10/10 for me.
Everyone watches this all of a sudden now lol bet your buddy recommended you this but ignored to watch it
I just finished season 1 today. Maybe it's because my life has been stressful lately, but this scene broke me down. :')
Did sydney return to work? Or picking up the last check like carmy said on their texts?
It was so cool for me because I didn't realize that guy telling the story was Mikey until the very last scene when he's smiling
